Moz API

The Moz API is a powerful tool for users who want to analyse the internet search landscape, build custom dashboards or SEO reporting scripts, enrich their own SaaS applications (with proper attribution), and much more. If you’ve built something outside of the box with the Moz API, let us know!

The API provides programmatic access to the same data that powers Moz Pro’s link and keyword research tools and offers benefits to a wide range of users, including PR and marketing agencies, domain acquisition teams, online marketplaces, AI platforms, and cybersecurity tools. Our data about internet domains and search includes:

  • Links: Moz conducts an in-house link crawl to construct the Moz Link Index, which lets us provide you with data about which web pages are linking to each other. Through the Moz API, you can harness the power of our link index to see all the pages or domains linking to a site you’re interested in, perform Venn diagram-like link intersect operations to find pages that are linking to one site but not another, analyze the way a page is being talked about by investigating the anchor texts used to link to that page, and more.
  • Sites: Moz uses the information gathered during the link crawl to build out profiles for trillions of sites and also cross-indexes URLs with other data such as SERPs and keywords. You can use the API to retrieve metrics for a site, such as link counts and in-house authority and spam metrics, list pages within a domain based on Page Authority or total links, or get all the keywords for which a site ranks in the top 50 in Google search.
  • Keywords: You can use the API to retrieve keyword metrics such as monthly search volume, research ranking opportunities or strengthen content briefs by generating related keywords, or access Moz’s search intent algorithm to determine whether a keyword is likely to be informational, navigational, commercial, or transactional.

Currently, the Moz API is transitioning between versions, which means that many methods are in beta and some are only available via the legacy version.
