Should OG tags be used on a websites homepage?
-
My current shopping cart uses OG tags on about 1/2 of all pages, it puts them on product pages and that about it. Would it be beneficial to have these tags on all pages?
Thanks for your time.

Sam and Thompson,
Thanks for your replies! I will say I was thrown for a loop about the tags adding a button ... I couldn't envision how that would work!
So for a primarily ecommerce site would you recommend using:
for the every page that doesn't fall into one of the other defined facebook types or should I create custom types?
FYI, our cart uses the following on product pages:
A type of "product" seems appropriate but it isn't listed in the defined facebook types so I'm not sure it's being used correctly on these pages. Any thoughts?
Again thanks!!!

Open Graph (OG) tags go in the header of the page and have nothing to do with adding a Like button to the page's contents. There's no reason you can't have the OG markup without having a Like button.
I agree with Sam it's definitely a good idea to have them on all pages as it's the schema that ensures that when someone links to your page from inside Facebook, you have control over what title, image and snippet are displayed there.

Yes! OG tags will help facebook display your site the way you'd want it to look on facebook. Putting them on your homepage is especially important.

Is it important for SEO that YouTube and Google + be used under the same Google Account?
Hello - I have a client that has their Google Plus and YouTube under separate Google accounts. My thoughts are that it'd be best for SEO and awareness with Google that their active YouTube channel to be under their active Google Plus account. My question is: Is it recommended for SEO that we upload the videos to her prominent Google business account (they only have about 100 subscribers)? If we did this we would delete them from the other account to avoid dup. content. We are in a position where we can make this change easily if it is recommended and good for SEO--which I would think it would be. So we would like to know now if we should make this change before we grow the YouTube channel further, or if we should leave it how it is. Any insight would be very helpful! Thank you!

Google+ author tags and product descriptions - Can we author tag it to protect it if its custom written?
Hello Google+ experts We run a eCommerce (magento) site with ~140 different products. We manufacture all of our own products and therefore the product descriptions / content is written by us for us, however there are smaller operators that can scrap it, adjust it and use it on similar products. Can we author tag our own custom product descriptions or will goggle not like this? I have read a hand full of blog about author tags v's publisher tags, and most bloggers state that eCommerce product pages should not author tag as content is normally generic product spec information. Our product content is fresh, custom and written by a real author it's similar to a blog post so why can't we tag it to protect it? (The descriptions include a product - Overview / Benefits / Suggested use) If we do Author tag it will Google spank us and damage our SEO or because it fresh and custom advance are SEO?

Google+ What account to use for business?
Ok, we have been pretty dismissive of Google+ but having read more and more about how it is now directly influencing search results (currently in the USA) we are going to suggest setting up accounts for business. The question is, which Google Account should be used for the business page? In the nice presentational video on Google+ the example business is a nice local bike shop, which is simple right? Just use the small business owners account. But what about larger clients? Who in the org should have the business page on their account? What if that individual leaves? Can the page be separated from that account? Should you use maybe a Google Apps for Business account? But the issue with that is you will obviously have no one in any circles to share that page with. It all seems to be too closely tied to the personal side of Google+ Any help would be great. Thanks.
