SEO for EMD
-
Hi,
I bought ForSaleInAZ.com for my real estate website. Google Keyword Tool estimate 301k local searches for that term. I would like to capitalize on this by building this site with good content.
My question to you, besides the search being the URL, what is the best practice to specifically promote the "For Sale In AZ" phrase? Should it be in the Page Title, Meta Description, Content H1 & H2 tags, Image tag? Or, is it being in the URL good enough...so all I have to do is build good content?
I understand not to over do it but I could use your advice. Can you please give me some suggestions/ guidelines to follow specifically to my EMD?
SEO Expertise Level: I am comfortable and have the decent understanding but, by no means, an expert!
Thanks,
Carl

yup. try it again be selecting "exact match" in the left hand side of the Google keyword tool and you'll see something more like 60 or so instead of 301k sorry to say. I haven't looked it up but i can tell you almost no one is searching for that.
anyway what is for sale in AZ, you are real estate so "real estate" might be your main target not "for sale" but you'll have a hard time getting an EMD for realestate location domain names, so you might want to go with branding + keyword.

Hi Carl,
Your content is going to be key, as with all websites. You may get a slight boost from your URL being an EMD but Google is slowly losing that as a ranking factor.
As long as you produce unique, valuable content that is informative and worth while to the user then you should have no real problems. Don't overdo the placement of your keywords in every single spot you can find on your site, if it is relevant then put it in your heading tags, image tags etc.
To summarise:
I would tackle this exactly the same was as a non EMD.
A quote I like to use as a guide for my own work - 'To rank #1 for a keyword, you must deserve to be above all other relevant sites; you must own the best piece of relevant content on the web.'

"for sale in arizona" at 301K is broadmatch.
So, this niche might not be as rich as you expect.... and conversions using that query - even if combined with "homes" or "houses" or "real estate" is going to be really low.
Do you really want to target this?

301 or Keep 2 Chocolate Best Sellers SEO?
Hi All, So we have two best selling organic chocolates that are very similar. http://www.santabarbarachocolate.com/bulk-organic-dark-chocolate-72-without-soy-lecithin/ and http://www.santabarbarachocolate.com/bulk-organic-dark-chocolate-72-without-soy-lecithin/ Because we are a small company it would be ideal to offer only one of these chocolates due to the cost of making it from the raw cacao. This is the question: From a SEO page rank perspective, do we get better rank by 301 redirecting one chocolate to the other thereby generating more traffic through traffic consolidation to one chocolate. Or do we get better SEO rank by having two chocolates on the site that both get clicks with different content? Basically it is a question of divided forces. Thanks for your help, Jason

Home Page SEO and city specific targeting?
From What I have read you should target one keyword for each page on your site with the exception of the home page. Is this correct? If the most searched keywords for a Dentist in the area are Dentist "city name"
On-Page Optimization | | scott315
Cosmetic Dentist "city name"
Family Dentist "city name" Should you try and add content on the home page with h1 tags of each of these? If so then what about the page title/url Also if you are targeting keyword Dentist "city name" but like 4 different cities, should you have a separate page for each of this cities and then if so would that not be duplicate content with the exception of city name? Thanks1 -

Next on-page steps for an SEO newbie
Hi there! I'm new to Seomoz and am really pleased with the service so far. I've been doing some On-page optimizations and am gradually getting most of my pages to an A grade, but I wondered what the next steps would be? For example I have been looking at the search term "the shins fans". I have an A grade for my page (http://tastebuds.fm/artists/the+shins) but it lists on the 2nd page of SERPS for the term (in the UK at least). Can anyone recommend any tips for taking my page to the 1st page of SERPS? This site seems to do well: http://www.fanpop.com/spots/the-shins I am aware of the importance of link-building, but I'm specifically looking for tips on optimizing the page itself. Many Thanks, Alex

Is having the word catalog in an ecommerce site url detrimental to seo.
IS: www.example.com/catalog/category%/product% better than www.example.com/category%/product% category and product are dynamic values that change with the diff. categ. and products displayed while catalog is constant.
