How would you Improve this Page (to get conversions)?
-
I am looking for some help/advice/tips/suggestions on what you would do to improve this page in terms of getting customers to stay on the site or actually go a level down and place an order...
The page is : http://goo.gl/MIajx
I seem to be getting a decent amount of traffic, but it is not turning into orders... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The colors are not really helping your site look professional and trustworthy.
Try to make the important parts of your website stand out more and make sure to direct your visitors to the important elements of the pages. I get more drawn to the left part of the website where you have the logo/slideshow then that i get drawn to clicking on your products. This is a definite conversion killer.
Look at a couple of good and authoritative looking webshops. Your products should stand out and the structure of your products should be clean.
The left area with the medals and brands should go to the right and your navigation should be on the left. The navigation should also look better. The grey doesn't really suit well with the rest of your website.
The product page has a table which doesn't make sense to me. But that could be because i am not a native english speaker and i know nothing about stackable storage bins.
Hope you think my advice was helpful. Let me know if you need more advice or help.

Check to see if your customers like the videos. Check in Youtube Analytics to see the stats and if people are indeed using your videos, watching them full length etc. If they are, it might make sense to include them somewhere on the page, as a video thumbnail and open a modal window with the video or something like that. You might then also want to look into doing a Video XML sitemap.
Looks great overall.

Looks much cleaner already
Shouldn't affect your rankings. If you want to keep the vids on the page, popular maneuver with ecommerce sites is to add content (and/or videos) into a drop down div. i.e. a hidden div that opens up when someone clicks "read more" or the like.

Thanks Oleg...
I have removed the videos from the sidebar and moved the text from the top of the page and put it into that sidebar....
Do you think moving that text and/or removing those videos will negatively affect my place in the Search engines?

Your color scheme is not doing you any favors. Red is supposed to make certain elements stand out, I feel like this whole page is yelling at me. Try to keep your color scheme to two/three colors + 1 call out color.
Suggest a few top sellers, preferably some that you carry in many sizes. As Kevin mentioned, filters would help people sort out exactly what they need.
The connect with us looks bad and is in a prime location. I'm sure this isn't your CTA for the page so I would move it towards the bottom of the page. Can use this place for the filters.
The "Plastic Storage Bins" sidebar just has the model number as a title and the price. Check your analytics to see how many people actually click on that. My guess is slim to none. Its non-descriptive and not relevant to the page. Instead, highlight 3 "top sellers" for the category they are currently viewing or something.
I would move the text below the products as they should be the main focus of the page.
The right sidebar videos are also out of place.. I highly doubt anyone would press play on one of three random videos that are 150px wide, with no titles.
There are many things you can do to improve this page.. main thing is that it is very busy and gives little direction to the visitor. Check out analytics and install something like inspectlet or clicktale to view how visitors interact with the page.
Cheers,Oleg

One suggestion is to include filtered/parametric search so the user can find what they want a bit faster.

Links to sub pages
Hi, if I am building links to pages outside of my home page, is that link still a referring domain. Also, does that link also help the SEO of the keywords targeted on the home page. Most of our links are home page targeted and we need to start ranking on subpages but need to know if these links only help the page they are aimed at

Should I offer our free eBook on its own page?
I work for an e-commerce website and we have written a super helpful eBook about one of the kinds of products we sell. The original idea was to offer it on the main page that we direct people to when they're shopping for this product, but it occurred to me that it might be better for link building and less cluttered if it has its own page. But we are concerned that link building to a separate page will not help with SEO for the main product page, which was the original goal. What should we do? Pros/cons?

Google is no longer ranking home page but sub page lower, why?
We were ranking on page 2 and number 4 for the key word motorcycle tires. Google was ranking our home page jakewilson.com; however, we have been adding new content to our site and doing some internal linking. We pointed some links about motorcycle tires to http://www.jakewilson.com/cl/52/Motorcycle-Tires and now that page ranks but on page 3 not 2. Any thoughts?

What are your favorite tactics for getting links to money-pages?
We've got content marketing and other great tactics for getting links to content pages, but what are your favorite tactics for getting links to your money pages (i.e. product pages, landing pages, devices pages, sales letters, etc.) For example: For certain sites (especially some ecommerce sites), one can get a few backlinks by doing giveaways, contests, or events Some sites can give their product to bloggers to review If you're selling an exciting product and/or a product that appeals to a passionate user base, such tactics can work great. There are some sites that such tactics won't work very well for, though. For example, if you sell a boring or highly specialized product that bloggers won't want to review or giveaway as a contest prize - such as valves used in a specific commercial application, or an expensive B2B product that you can't really giveaway. Creativity is of course important, but sometimes it can only take you so far. What are your favorite strategies for getting quality backlinks to your "money pages" especially for sites that don't fit into the "ecommerce site selling cool stuff" category?

Page Rank Sculpting
Just a thought. With the way pagerank works and passing link juice evenly across all your links. Would it make sense to structure your site so that each page passes your all your link juice from lets say your homepage to another page. Then that page would contain all the link juice from the homepage. Then do the same thing with the next pages. For instance Homepage - linkjuice 10 link1 - follow link2 rel=nofollow link3 rel=nofollow link4 rel=nofollow link5 rel=nofollow Link1 - linkjuice 10 link1 rel=nofollow link2 - follow link3 rel=nofollow link4 rel=nofollow link5 rel=nofollow Link2 - linkjuice 10 link1 rel=nofollow link2 rel-nofollow link3 - follow link4 rel=nofollow link5 rel=nofollow Link3 - linkjuice 10 link1 rel=nofollow link2 rel-nofollow link3 rel=nofollow link4 - follow link5 rel=nofollow Link4 - linkjuice 10 link1 rel=nofollow link2 rel-nofollow link3 rel=nofollow link4 rel=nofollow link5 - follow and so on. Theoretically would'nt this help pass a ton if not all of link juice to your main links? Sorry if this is a dumb question, it's late and sometimes my mind goes places 🙂

2 links going to same domain but different pages
Hi, How is the link juice distributed when you have 2 links in the same article but they go to different pages on the same domain? I know some say if 2 links go to the same page in an article then only the first link passes juice. Would it be better to have 2 articles each having 1 link or 2 articles each having 2 links?

Ever Get disillusioned with SEO
Many times now we have pushed certain keywords for homepage listings but we have found the traffic levels to be very poor and many cases first page listings turn out to be vanity. The frustrating thing is that sometimes we have to tell some of our SEO customers that in order to get a good market share for there industry they will always have to do google adwords. What are your thoughts on this . Thanks

Other than the homepage, what other pages need linkbuilding TLC?
With my linkbuilding efforts, I know what keywords I want to target but my homepage ranks for most of my keywords. The other pages were written and built for specific keywords, but do they need linkbuilding TLC? They don't rank in the SERPs much anyway (if not at all) and the homepage is by-far the strongest in the SERPs.
