302 redirect (temporary redirect)
-
Hello guys,
I have a stupid problem, i guess you solved long time ago.
After i crawl my website, i found out that i have 8k temporary redirect (302 redirect). All of them came from www.domain.com/enable-cookies, there are 8 k of this type.
I guess i am not first one with magento having this problem. Could you explain what happen in fact?
And more than that could you explain how to fix it? I bet people will find this thread important i will not be the last one with this problem
Thank you in advance.
With Respect,
Andrei

Hello Shanaki,
I checked the http header response code for that URL and it returns a 301 redirect status code. In other words, the setting recommended above did work, but perhaps the SEOMoz crawler hasn't seen it yet.

SEOMoz does not crawl the web and return reports in real time. You may have to wait for the Mozscape index to refresh.
Hey, anyone remember when Google used to "dance" like that? Fun stuff. Popcorn-eating entertainment back then.
-
Already did, your suggestion i found on google too, thank you very much for confirming, but the strange thing is that nothing change SeoMoz said.
Thank you again.

It´s a magento "please enable" feature, that seems to have a unwanted side effect for crawlers like seomoz.
You find the setup in admin -> general -> web
Default is to redirect the visitor (without cookies enabled) to the default page called "Enable Cookies" set in. The cookie is needed for the cart module:
CMS No Cookies Page = Enable Cookies.
You can disable this with the setting: "NO" redirect in the bottom of admin -> general -> web and substitute it with a "YES" to show the notice alert on the top of the page to non cookie visitors.
Browser Capabilities Detection
<fieldset id="web_browser_capabilities" class="config collapseable">
Redirect to CMS-page if Cookies are Disabled -> No
Show Notice if JavaScript is Disabled -> Yes</fieldset>
This should fix the 302 redirects!!

Hello,
Thanks for reply.
I think i am explain badly.
My problem is that SeoMoz, give me around 8 k bad link, that links are internal.
This kind of link:
http://wo-men.ro/barbati/catalog/product_compare/add/product/100/uenc/aHR0cDovL3dvLW1lbi5yby9iYXJiYXRpL2JyYXRhcmktcGllbGUtYmFyYmF0aS5odG1s/
That add something to compare, add something in bag, that are cookies links, and i don`t know how to make them not to appear anymore or to make a 301 redirect somehow.
Thanks for reply again.

Do you control the domain these 302's are coming from?

Weird 404 Error URL's - Where to redirect?
For some reason, I end up with a bunch of weird 404 error URLs like these. /KRVWZ/SVfSZ/ /wp-content/upl /MKWTZ/RKYQZ/ /wp-content/upload What should I do with them? Should I redirect them or is there a better way to do something with them. I do use Yoast Premium if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

Language redirction causing 302 issues
Hi, I am getting an error on Moz campaign for 302 errors. The reason we have this redirection is because we have the website available in different languages and the website redirects to the language according to the area you are in. e.g. www.keyhub.com/en or www.keyhub.com/es I am guessing it might be a common issue for all the websites with multiple languages. Any solutions for this or should we just ignore this error? Thanks, Priyam

Do permanent redirect solve the issue of duplicate content?
Hi, I have a product page on my site as below. www.mysite.com/Main-category/SubCatagory/product-page.html This page was accessible in both ways as below. 1. www.mysite.com/Main-category/SubCatagory/product-page.html 2. www.mysite.com/Main-category/product-page.html This was causing duplicate title issue. So i permanently redirected one to other. But after more than a month and after many crawls, webmaster tools html improvement still shows duplicate title issue. My question is that do permanent redirect solve duplicate content issue or something i am missing here?

Redirecting https pages
If I add 301 redirects from the https versions of the root domain to the http:www.website.com (canonical version), will this prevent users from being able to access the https version? I believe the https version is only accessed once users log into the site. Thank you!

Hi there! I have two domains with the same content. Some guys in this forum posted that It would be convinient to do a 301 redirect from one ".com" domain to ".es" domain (my potential market). I just tried to set it up in the htaccess file but it dind't worked at all. Something like: redirect 301 http://wwww.domain.com http://www.domain.es I just configure in the webmaster tools the domain www.domain.com as preferred domain insted of http://domain.comThe same with the other domain. 301 Redirect to mobile site effecting rankings
On my site I redirect users when on a mobile device to be redirected to my mobile version of my site. In the last couple weeks I added that redirect in my htaccess file. I just realized today that I am doing a 301 redirect. In the last few weeks my ranking have gotten lower. I am starting to think that because of the redirect my mobile site is not as optimized as my regular site and therefor is effecting my rankings. My question is how can I redirect my users to my mobile site but not use a 301 AND how do I get google to use my main site content for ranking on the mobile side. I want to go back to getting my search rankings on the mobile side using my main sites content. Can I simply remove the 301 on the redirect? Hope that makes sense.
