Google+ Local Business Page not appearing
-
I have a local verified google + listing and recently just went to update it nicely. even though it has been around for months, however Google just can't seem to index it, does anybody know the reason why? I have tried " hard-searching" for it and it is not even indexed!
However if i find hard enough, it will appear in google maps, and also my domain has been around for months, if not a year however under Moz Open Site explorer it indicates it is a super new domain and even alexa is not recognizing any data even though it has traffic.
The only thing i have done is i have shifted servers two months ago. Does that translate to a new site? I hope not...

My pleasure, Partyrocks! Good luck with the work ahead.

Hi Miriam,
Thanks so much for pointing out the specifics as well with actions to take. If there are 10 thumbs up i would have gladly given mine.
The only thing that i regret now is that I have registered google page first instead of google places and they have now merged into one. A local business friend of mine had his google local place verified and his brand image displayed prominently on the right when his brand name is searched.
I think that's what we wanna achieve and at the moment it is not achieved yet. Will work towards that. thanks once again.

Hi Partyrocks,
That's good that you are starting to see your listing show up for important terms. Improving your rankings will depend on a variety of factors including the following:
-
Physical Location in City of Search
-
Citations you've built on 3rd party indexes/directories
-
Reviews you earn
-
Proper category choices
-
The authority of your website
-
Lack of violations on your Google+ Local page
-
Authority of links pointing to your website
These are just a few things, off the top of my head. Edging out competitors means making a greater effort than they are in areas like the above. I would recommend that you do a close study of the most recent Local Search Ranking Factors to consider the top ranking factors, gauge where you are in the process of promoting the business and see where you can focus your energies to improve your visibility. For example, your current Google+ Local page has zero reviews, so this is easy to identify as worthy of effort. Hope this helps!

I actually now begin to see my listing but it is not the top 3 for my keywords and how could i optimize it the top 3?
-
Hi Miriam,
It is actually a verified Google+ local page AND a Google + page as well. The case it happens is that once you verified local business, it will verify your google + business page and associate itself as a google+ local page. I suppose my google+ page has become a google + local page now.
My listing is here :
https://plus.google.com/103796168795989407712/about?gl=sg&hl=en
Thanks so much for your input and assistance.

Hi Partyrocks,
Do you mean a Google+ Local page or a Google+ page? Sorry, but the terminology is often confusing. There could be a number of reasons your page is not appearing, ranging from ineligibility, to guideline violations, to duplicates. Without being able to see your unique listing, it is unfortunately not possible to diagnose this scenario. If you can share your complete details, including a link to your listing, I'll be happy to take a look. If, for privacy reasons, you cannot share, your best bet would be to hire a high level Local SEO (if it is a Google+ Local page) to do an audit for you in private.

as long as you have the Google+ Page listing verified, it should show up already by now.
I suggest asking here http://productforums.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=et&utm_campaign=en&utm_source=us-et-new_PlacesLP_Q22013_community#!forum/business if you are really sure you didnt do anything wrong.

Unsolved Make Moz reindex the pages for keywords
Hi Moz says we're 18th for a phrase but that's for the page /himonsia-generators because that was the highest ranking page. If you search now for "heavy range generators" we're jumping between 10-12th position but it's for the page /products/generators - which is correct. How can I make Moz "Reindex" the pages?

Should I noindex user-created fundraising pages?
Hello Moz community! I work for a nonprofit where users are able to create their own fundraising pages on the website for supporters to directly donate. Some of them are rarely used, others get updated frequently by the host. There are likely a ton of these on our site. Moz crawl says we have ~54K pages, and when I do a "site:[url]" search on Google, 90% of the first 100 results are fundraising pages. These are not controlled by our staff members, but I'm wondering if meta noindexing these pages could have a big effect on our SEO rankings. Has anyone tried anything similar or know if this strategy could have legs for our site? My only concern is whether users wouldn't be able to find their fundraising page in our Google CSE implemented on the website. Any insight you fine folks could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Magento webshop ranks bad on Category pages
Hi All! Our webshop is www.hond.nl. We operate it for about a year now and it is not ranking on our most important pages. Basically we have 3 types of pages: Category pages, Product pages and 'Splash' pages. The 2nd and the 3rd rank OK. But the 1st, the category pages not at all. While the category pages have the best (hand written, unique) and the most content. For example https://www.hond.nl/hondenvoer.html is not ranking on keyword 'hondenvoer' (position 140...) We have investigated quite thoroughly and did most common (moz) tests and can't find a reason why the category pages don't rank. (could it have something to do with the filters...?) If anybody can shed some light on it, we would be much obliged! Thanks, Sander

Seo moz has only crawled 2 pages of my site. Ive been notified of a 403 error and need an answer as to why my pages are not being crawled?
SEO Moz has only crawled 2 pages of my clients site. I have noticed the following. A 403 error message screaming frog also cannot crawl the site but IIS can. Due to the lack of crawling ability, im getting no feed back on my on page optimization rankings or crawl diagnostics summary, so my competitive analysis and optimization is suffering Anybody have any idea as to what needs to be done to rectify this issue as access to the coding or cms platform is out of my hands. Thank you

Redirecting duplicate .asp pages??
Hi all, I have a bit of a problem with duplicate content on our website. The CMS has been creating identical duplicate pages depending on which menu route a user takes to get to a product (i.e. via the side menu button or the top menu bar). Anyway, the web design company we use are sorting it out going forward, and creating 301 redirects on the duplicate pages. My question is, some of the duplicates take two different forms. E.g. for the home page: www.<my domain="">.co.uk

www..<my domain="">.co.uk/index.html
www.<my domain="">.co.uk/index.asp</my></my></my> Now I understand the 'index.html' page should be redirected, but does the 'index.asp' need to be directed also? What makes this more confusing is when I run the SEOMoz diagnostics report (which brought my attention to the duplicate content issue in the first place - thanks SEOMoz), not all the .asp pages are identified as duplicates. For example, the above 'index.asp' page is identified as a duplicate, but 'contact-us.asp' is not highlighted as a duplicate to 'contact-us.html'? I'm a bit new to all this (I'm not a IT specialist), so any clarification anyone can give would be appreciated. Thanks, Gareth0
