Creating Content for Semantic search?
-
Need some good examples of semantic search friendly content.
I have been doing a lot of reading on the subject, but have seen no real good examples of 'this is one way to structure it'. Lots of reading on the topic from an overall satellite perspective, but no clear cut examples I could find of "this is the way the pieces should be put together in a piece of content and this is the most affective ways to accomplish it".
**What I know: **
-It needs to answer a question that precludes the 'keyword being used'
-It needs to or should be connected to authorship for someone in that topic industry
-It should incorporate various social media sources as reference to the topic
-It should link out to authoritative resources on the topic
-It should use some structured data markup
Here is a great resource on the important semantic search pieces: http://www.seoskeptic.com/semantic-seo-making-shift-strings-things/ ,but I want to move past the research into creating the content that will make the connections needed to get the content to rank.
I know Storify is an excellent medium to accomplish this off page, but only gives no follow attribution to the topic creator and links their in.
I am not a coder, but a marketer and creating the backend markup will really take me out of my wheel house. I don't want to spend all of my time flailing with code when I should be creating compelling semantic content.
Any helpful examples or resources welcome.
Thanks in advance.

You're going to need to understand, at the bare minimum the following:
Next thing you know, Schema markup will encompass more aspects of the aforementioned. So prepare for that.
Keep up to date with the blog.

Thanks for the drilling down aspect Travis.
That will definitely gets me more specific on what needs to be done.

Unfortunately there aren't many instances of plug and play Schema markup. If reviews and recipes are your thing, there are a few WordPress plugins that may make your life easier.
But for the most part you have to understand that there are scopes, types and properties. Here's a link - scroll down beyond the More Specific types. Click the Microdata tag under Examples.
It's basically zooming in from a broad type. It's saying I'm a WebPage. Then it's saying I'm a WebPage and I have breadcrumb navigation. This particular breadcrumb pertains to books.
Okay, so this is a Webpage about Books... maybe. Let's get a little more specific. This is definitely about a book. Here's the cover image. The book is Catcher in The Rye.
Yeah? But what type of book? There are several kinds.
Well, this one is a paper back.
Oh. But who wrote it?
J.D. Salinger.
I've heard of that guy. What did people think about the book?
All of the ratings average 4 stars.
Oh yeah? How many ratings, weisenheimer?
3077, natch.
How much is it and can I get it now?
Fo sho, it's $6.99 and it's in stock.
I need to know a little more about it. I don't have a lot of free time.
No problem, it's 224 pages and written in English.
Is this a first printing?
Naw man, it was printed in May 1, 1991. Here's the ISBN number so you can check it out further.
So you can see that Schema can get pretty involved. It can also be pretty direct. It really depends upon what your application is. Hopefully that helps.

Weird Bing Search Results
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can explain what's going on here, because after hours of searching I cannot find anyone having the same problem... We use Bing search to provide the site search functionality on our website and recently for a particular keyword search, the results include several pages which are not on our site: they are on completely different domains! You can replicate it by going to bing.com and using the "site:" operator together with that keyword. Again, results from other domains appear in amongst the pages on our site. I cannot find any other keywords which produce this same behaviour: every other keyword I have tried shows only results from our site. However, I obviously haven't tested absolutely every possible keyword combination. Bing isn't "padding" out the results or anything like that, because we have more than enough pages referencing this term on the site, and I'm at a total loss as to why this is happening. So, I suppose my question is: has anyone ever had this happen to them? And if so, what did they do about it? Many thanks, Dan

Remove spam url errors from search console
My site was hacked some time ago. I've since then redesigned it and obviously removed all the injection spam. Now I see in search console that I'm getting hundreds of url errors (from the spam links that no longer work). How do I remove them from the search console. The only option I see is "mark as fixed", but obviously they are not "fixed", rather removed. I've already uploaded a new sitemap and fetched the site, as well as submitted a reconsideration request that has been approved.

Google indexing my website's Search Results pages. Should I block this?
After running the SEOmoz crawl test, i have a spreadsheet of 11,000 urls of which 6381 urls are search results pages from our website that have been indexed. I know I've read that /search should be blocked from the engines, but can't seem to find that information at this point. Does anyone have facts behind why they should be blocked? Or not blocked?

Very Strange Search Results!
Having just done a search on Google.co.uk for 'payday loans' I am baffled as to why the top two organic results (image attached) are even associated to the keyword. The KW isn't present in the title, metas, or content. Nor do any backlinks use relevant anchor text. I'm guessing this is an algorithmic 'f*ck up', do you agree? uGdk7Cw92Rme

Do Google donations to Wikimedia show any bias in search results?
Over the weekend we learned Google co-founder Sergey Brin donated $500,000 to Wikimedia, the parent company of Wikipedia.com. Last year I believe Google donated $2 million to Wikimedia. I now ask, is this suspicious in anyway, seeing that Wikipedia ranks so well in Google for so many terms? There are several blog posts about it online here and there throughout the years, but what does everyone think?

Will google punish us for using formulaic keyword-rich content on different pages on our site?
We have 100 to 150 words of SEO text per page on www.storitz.com. Our challenge is that we are a storage property aggregator with hundreds of metros. We have to distinguish each city with relevant and umique text. If we use a modular approach where we mix and match pre-written (by us) content, demographic and location oriented text in an attempt to create relevant and unique text for multiple (hundreds) of pages on our site, will we be devalued by Google?
