Does anyone use rss feeds to attract more visitors
-
Hi, i am wondering if anyone uses rss feeds to bring visitors to their site. My site is www.in2town.co.uk and i am not sure if it would be worthwhile in using rss feeds to bring visitors to my site.
I must admit i have never subscribed to any rss feeds so this has got me thinking, do many people subscribe to them these days.

I agree with Broadbeach Media, with how easy they are to set up; why wouldn't you give your visitors that option. Regardless if you gain more traffic, it's always nice to have that option. Try Feedburner, it is very easy to set up.

Hi Diane,
Had a quick look at your website, and since it seems to be regularly updated (latest celebrity news etc.) I think having an RSS feed would be beneficial to have, this way frequent visitors of you site can easy check up what's new at your site.
They are also easy to set-up, so yes, definitely go ahead with it.
Regards

Using one domain for email and another domain for your website, but redirects...
We are rebranding and our new name is fairly lengthy. We own all main domain versions of our brand name - .com, .new and .org - There is a very high search volume for the new brand name as it is a merger of 2 popular existing brands so want to take advantage of that and use our full name within our website domain name. However, since the name is a little long as mentioned - 25 characters - we also own the 3 character acronym of the new brand so we are debating on using the acronym for our new email addresses. ie name@abc.com so it is user friendly. We would obviously redirect the acronym email domain to point to the longer website domain. Are there any negative SEO effects if we do that? Use the longer domain for the website and shorter acronym for our email? Thank you

RSS Feeds query
I think I pretty much know the answer to this one but a client of mine (in the motoring sector) wants to put an RSS feed of their car ads on an external classifieds web site. Any SEO concerns there? Thanks all... Gavin

Use Of H1 Tags
I just have a quick question. I have seen a few people mention that the use of more than 1 H1 tag has little bearing on things. I am trying to sort out a site for a friend and it has 2 H1 tags. My issue is that it is ranking for a quite competitive keyword (don't know how as the whole site layout is a total mess) but in my efforts to clean up the site I am wondering if I should actually reduce the No of H1 Tags to 1 or leave 'as is' for fear of breaking something. Thanks Paul

Google RSS Feed News Feed To Inner Pages
Ive been working on a large ecommerce website that has thousands of pages, although we are working on adding custom content daily to the largest pages, we have "defaul content" with dynamic tags matching search query. Someone recommend we add a google Rss feed where they can also add some type of tag. Is this a bad idea? Ive asked in the past but my main concern is issue with duplicate content, It would be next to impossible to have all pages filled with custom content. Any help much appreciated!! Thank you!

Merge pages - use redirects?
I have merged the content of three HTML pages to one. pages one URL stays as is. the URLs of the pages 2 and 3 are obsolete. Would you recommend to use 301 redirects from the obsolete URLs to page 1? Other proposals? Thanks, Thorsten

I have created 2 blogs for a client as they have 2 domains (1 for their core business, and 1 for a product). I want to use the same content on both blogs. What is the best way to set this up so there are no ranking or duplicate content issues?
We are pushing SEO for only one of the domains, therefore I would like one to be dominant. We will be sending the blog post via email to their database, therefore each blog needs to have the same content. Thank you!

How to best take advantage of content being used on another site?
We've never syndicated content or done "article marketing". Another site contacted us and requested to use the content on several of our webpages. The other site is a fairly prestigious nonprofit in our industry. We don't mind them using our content, but we want to get the most benefit out of it. There are two ways the occur to me: Have them create pages with the exact same text as on our pages, but put in the header of those pages Just have them create pages with the text from our pages with embedded links back to our other pages. Each page they create will say "Content courtesy of XXX" Does anyone have opinions on which way is best, or another approach?
