Seeking out different avenues....Affiliate Programs
-
Our company is seeking out different avenues.
Our company is seeking out new avenues for growth. We are interested in Affiliate Programs and want to know how Google views this. We do not want our SERP to decease and feel it is important to keep any negative implications away from our site and our company.
Does anyone have experience in Affiliate Programs and if so did it negatively effect your site?
Our company is an e-commerce site that sell aftermarket products for trucks, SUVs, Jeeps, Motorcycles, ATV, and more.
Thank you

Are you looking to offer an affiliate program for your products, or to join other affiliate programs to sell products from other companies and get paid a commission? I have provided an answer for either situation...
Having an affiliate program for your products (i.e. becoming a merchant) should not hurt your rankings. There are many options to get started, including open-source, custom-built and affiliate network programs like Commission Junction, Share-a-Sale and Linkshare.
Joining affiliate programs as an affiliate shouldn't harm rankings in and of itself, but this all depends on what you do, as Jason described below.

Google doesn't mind affiliate marketing as long as it is not spam and provides the answer to a search query. The only way I can see that this will hurt you is if you end up with spam linking to the specific pages that you will be doing your affiliate marketing for.
If you want to associate your affiliate marketing with your website then add landing pages within the site for your affiliate programs.
If you want to limit your exposure then I recommend you do these affiliate programs on different URLs and build them up from scratch while still maintaining your brand within the website.
But please understand, the affiliate marketing will not hurt you unless you spam yourself with SEO practices while doing affiliate marketing. I hope that answers your question.

Multiple links from same domain (different pages) considered in credibility of backlinks?
Hi, Let's say there are multiple backlinks from different pages of same domain to different pages of other domain like below: Website A: Page 1 -----------> Website B: Page 1 Website A: Page 2 -----------> Website B: Page 2 Do the pages of Website B pages will get backlinks authority equally or they don't get much backlinks impact as they have multiple backlinks from same domain? There were old school stories that Google ignores second link from same domain.....etc... So, please suggest on this. Thank you. Note: The question is NOT about content relevancy or domain authority score of the backlinks.

Dublicate Content: Almost samt site on different domains
Hi, I own a couple of casting websites, which I'm at the moment launching "local" copies of all over the world. When I launch my website in a new country, the content is basically allways the same, except the language sometimes changes country for country. The domains will vary, so the sitename would be site.es for Spain, site.sg for Singapore, site.dk for Denmark and so. The websites will also feature diffent jobs (castings) and diffent profiles on the search.pages and so, BUT the more static pages are the same content (About us, The concept, Faq, Create user and so). So my Questions are: Is this something that is bad for Google SEO? The sites are atm NOT linking to each other with language-flags or anything - Should I do this? Basically to tell google that

the business behind all these sites are somewhat big. Is there a way to inform Google on, that these sites should NOT be treated as dublicate content (Canonical tag wont do, since I want the "same" content to be listet on the locally Google sites). Hope there is some experts here which can help. /Kasper0 -
Are Google algos different between .co.uk and .com?
I have a site that is starting to rank well (top 10 to top 50) for dozens of keywords in Google.co.uk but very little traction in .com. Google.com is the primary market. Webmaster tools is set to US, less than 1% of links to the site are the UK TLD or hosted in the UK. Keywords I'm ranking for in UK are medium to high competition with up to 16k exact search volume per month in the US. I just started to get ranked for these keywords in .co.uk in the past week, and I do rank for some long tail keywords in google.com. I have a handful of keywords ranking in google.ca and google.fr as well, but next to nothing for google.com. I have been building links for one month. I can think of a few possible explanations: - There is a delay in updating the rankings for Google.com and the rankings similar to my .co.uk rankings will come soon - Google.com vs .co.uk use a different algorithm - My site is penalized in .com only Of course, there is no way to be sure what the reason is, but what do you think is the most likely? Thanks!

Content vs articles vs blogs is there a difference?
I was wondering is there really a difference between website content, articles or blogs and most important do search engines see it differently? My website is pretty much an ecommerce site and most of my long text is on my blog. The only other pages that have much content is the homepage, all the other pages may have a paragraph. I am just wondering if i need to make more actual pages with text/content or is having my blogs good enough? I am no expert in seo and just wondering if i am wasting too much money on getting blogs written or should i get more content. Content being a page called commercial printing and blog being a page called why do do i need commercial printing? Also would it matter to the users who find the site? Would the users come to my site just looking for information or would they actually think of me for the service?

One SERP Result, Two Different Link Destinations?
Because my vocabulary isn't up to par, it may be easier for you to skip ahead to the image I've attached. One of my web pages shows up in the Google SERP like this. It has the blue "title" link that goes to one page (URL A), and under that, there is a green "breadcrumb" link that goes to a different page (URL B). Any idea why this is happening and how it can be fixed? Thanks in advance, Benjamin FjhUX.jpg

Why is there no compiled list of the different types of search results on Google, and what the content qualifications are to generate those results?
Seems to me that this list should exist out there somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Am I just not as good of a Googler as I thought I was?

I need help with drastic SERP difference between Bing and Google
One of our sites that has been around for a couple of years has about 60,000 pages showing on google, however, bing only shows 90 pages for the site. This same phenomenon has been happening across the board for our sites. Any ideas to improve our indexing results for bing?

Do we need to worry about where our domain is hosted anymore?does it make a difference anymore?
I went to a really interesting conference last week and one of the speakers who has been working in the SEO industry for 15 years now said that it doesn't make a difference anymore ranking wise. I would like to see what the community thinks on this subject? Thanks Ari
