They most likely launched both in hopes of getting US and UK traffic to their site. The sites are not identical and therefore they are doing nothing wrong from a traditional SEO standpoint. Now, I don't agree with their idea of having a .co.uk and a .com, they should be fine with one of those.
I am with Miriam, this should not be allowed, but I can see how it was missed by any algorithm catches.

Hi Steve,
I agree with you - the company should only have one Place Page, given that they are only one business. I expect Google would agree if they did a manual review. However, there is a vague point here for me. One of the domains is a country level domain with the .uk extension while the other is the global .com extension. I am not sure if the company's decision to go with two different domains/websites might have some SEO basis about which I'm not qualified to speak. I'm a Local SEO....I'd like to ask one of our expert traditional SEOs to stop by this thread to give us his or her knowledge about the different domain extensions.
But, bottom line, yes, it's the same business at the same address and should have only one Place Page. If this is hurting your own business in some way, you could always visit the Google Place Pages, scroll to the bottom and use the report a problem link to describe your unhappiness with this business receiving 2 spots in the rankings when they are only one business. You would essentially be outing your competitor in so doing. Now, whether Google will act on your remarks is another matter, but the report a problem link is the avenue open to you to report activity you feel is inappropriate.
Hang in here while I ask one of our traditional SEOs to stop by.

Another company's website indexing for my site
Hi, I am looking at all the pages which Google are indexing for my website and have come across pages of another company's website. I have contacted them through their online form and Facebook page asking for them to remove their listings for us, but to no avail so far. Is there a way I can do this myself?

How can I provide titles and descriptive text for our list of USPs on the same page optimized both for usability and SEO
I am rebuilding our website together with an agency and I am stuck with the following problem: We have a page which will provide the visitor with a quick and convincing impression why he should chose our enterprise. On this page we want to show our USPs (Unique Selling Points) each with a title and a short description. Now my preferred way of presenting those USPs would be of a list of the titles (which permits to see all USPs without having to read a lot of text) where each title can be clicked to expand the description (in case you want to know more about this specific USP) and if you click on another title the previously clicked title description will collapse and the new description expand and so on (similar to this page: http://www.berlin-city-immobilien.de/38.html - I'm talking about the list in the middle of the page starting with the headline "Dabei profitieren Sie von folgenden Vorteilen"). Since I also want to use these descriptions as on page SEO-texts I checked whether Google might not index or at least value "click to expand content" less than plain text in the body of the page and I stumbled over this article: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-hidden-tab-content-seo-19489.html. According to this article Google will definitely discount the descriptions on my page. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem? Either by suggesting a different way to show titles and descriptions on the page or maybe by suggesting a workaround so Google will not treat the descriptions as "click to expand text". Thank you already in advance for your input.

Large Companies Taking Over Rankings
Recently many large companies. (lowes, bed bath and beyond, walmart, target, ace hardware, etc.), have taken over the rankings of keywords we used to rank high in. Is there any way to improve our rankings and compete with these large companies? Is this due to recent Google changes? Sample keywords are: electrolux vacuum bags, oreck vacuum bags, vacuum cleaner bag, vacuum cleaner filter

Need advice on search listings and link building
Search results on my keyword (engraved wedding glasses) produces several pages of linked domains. (My domain is giftthings.net) Some are good. And admittedly, some are not so good. My question then is simply, why does seomoz link analysis show such a small number of links? And the second part of my question is, "Is there some sort of "magic number", some sort of thresh hold that triggers Google's interest? With a link list that is small but growing, am I missing something in my concern that I'm not moving up in the search listings? I've written a few articles, continuing my work on link building but I remain buried in the search results.

Please recommend a tool to list pages on my site.
I have taken a major hit from the latest update. Site has been online for 10 years, white hat SEO all the way but I do have some legacy pages were I would duplicate title or the description on a new page. Things are just unorganized currently and trying to find the best approach to organizing what I already have as well as track new content. I would like to have a tool that would basically extract a list of my current pages, the title tags and the description in an Excel file. Not sure how the pros organinze the SEO on a site but my biright idea is that I can have a large excel file with the pages listed so I can detect duplicate info. Site only has about 300 pages. Just regular php pages, no CMS. Thanks in advance!

Google Local Results and URL Titles
After searching for (city name) (business type) a number of my competitor's sites come up with the title of their web page as the results (including geographic descriptors). However, my site is listed by name and does not reflect our URL title. How is this possible (did someone manually change the title of our listing?) and how can I change this back so that the title includes a geo descriptor? Do I simply edit the listing under google places or will this have a negative effect on our rankings?
