Do links from a Tumblr blog count as inbound links?

That's it. I'm thinking of making a Tumblre blog (s) for inbound links. Is it worthwhile?

THanks for your help Andy. We are doing just that - guest blogging is a greaty way in - be it with content, infographics or whatever. Works really well for us at the moment.

LOL. It was actually a very reputable conference/speaker... I don't think they were advocating link farming, but moreover the principal of it.
I agree though - I'm actually very white hat (have to be!) so it's not something I'd consider. 100% agree with root domains being more important. Thanks for your help.

I think you should start visiting other speakers on your seminars
The amount of root domains linking to you is far more important that the numbers of links from a domain. Having 50 Tumblr blogs would never count as good as 50 different sites linking to you. -

No - i don't think I'd do that - was more over looking at the principal of it (as opposed to the rights/wrongs). At a seminar I went to recently one of the speakers had over 50 Tumblr sites and was touting this as a legitimate tactic...

That sounds to me like you are wanting to start your own little link-farm - I would advise you steer well clear of this!

I think they do, as I can't find any 'nofollow' on their links. However, unless if you have a really popular (and well linked to Tumblr blog), I don't think the value will be large.

Should I disavow these links?
Hi all, I have a ski website that I am currently performing a toxic backlink audit on. I have noted that a lot of the links being flagged as toxic/spammy by the tool I am using seem to be the same/similar sites with different URLs. The sites are vaguely related to skiing (relating to helicopter travel options for travelling to ski resorts) but it is concerning me that there are so many of them and they are being flagged as so toxic.

Inbound link analysis
Hi all! we are doing some back link analysis on a clients competitors site. The competitor has roughly 300,000 links generated from an estimated 1,500 domain names. Is there an easy way to determine how many of the 300,000 links come from which of the 1,500 domain names? Essentially we want to see which of these domain names are generating the majority links? Is there a tool we can use to determine this? Or is it good old fashioned leg work? Ideas...? Thanks in advance 🙂 Phil.

When removing links should I be worried about bad links from websites that have already been deindexd from Google or should I think that since it is not in these index any more it cant do harm?

LINK BUILDING - Does it really matter if the link is not relevant?
Hi guys, I have just done a lot of link buillding and I thought I am just going to link build and I am not going to go after RELVANT links. I have property/real esate website and I have been any kind of link builidng and I have noteced some good increases in rankings.. So my questions is; Does it really matter if the link is relvant to property or real estate if I have got ranking increases? Or will it later harm my site?? Thanks Gareth

Link exchanges
I have quite a few legal clients and 90% of my clients top competitors are doing 1:1 link exchanges and they have been doing it for years. Other industries Dont seem as prevalent. I am just boggled every time someone says link exchanges don't work, will get penalized, or value is not passed. Its been working for my competitors....Legal SEO's seem to focus heavily on link exchanges. I have yet to do link exchanges, but am about to get started with a resourceful directory of local businesses on my clients site. Some will be linking back, but not all. Fear of penalization is lurking in my mind. Does anyone have any real data on this? Does anyone have an example of doing this properly and an example of how not to do it? Hi I have some links from blogs to our ecom website. My question is if anyone knows what happens if you have several different blogs on .blogspot linking in to you. Does that make them loose value because they are on the same domain? I can probably quite easily have 5-10 blogs on blogspot all with PA of 35-40 link in to us. Is it worth striving for or should i strive to get blogs that have their own domain to link into us instead ? Or equally important ? Dan Lærum
