i was wondering whats the best way to optimise a wordpress website for SEO?
Any advice or tools would be greatly appreciated, currently the site is not very well optimised and is very new.

I was planning to carry out all the normal processes of SEO to the site such as KW research, on-page content, header titles, competitor analyses, off page factors etc,
I am just concerned by using the Wordpress admin CMS that it is encapsulating the normal seo elements such as page title, description, page names- friendly urls and was looking for any modules that provide direct access to these areas from within the admin panel rather than letting wordpress manage them .
I have looked at Yoast and felt that would provide what I am looking for, I am interested in the overall use of Wordpress and SEO considerations as a whole? The trade off for having a user control panel to create the website - like the effects on navigation links, Javascript code encapsulation?

Lots of people use Yoast or similar methods and think that they got all of the bases cover. Thereby they forget using their brain.
Often adding a couple extra words to category pages such as "news" or "information" or "facts" can pull in 10x more traffic. Similar results can often be obtained on other parts of the site.
So, do kW research, think about what people are searching for and that hour or two spent might earn the highest amount of money per hour that you ever make in a lifetime.

Yoast is definitely worth looking but there is also All in One SEO which is widely used. I have over 100 WP websites using it and I'm very happy with it.
All In One SEO has a Premium version but I never tried.

Does anyone know of a Wordpress plugin that allows you to create different tags for Open Graph (and potentially even Twitter) than standard Title and Meta Description Tags? As far as I can tell, most plugins just force OG and Twitter to use whatever the standard Title Tag and Description Tag are. But we'd like separate fields for each. Standard Page Titles need a bit of extra keyword love, whereas social media titles we'd like a bit more freedom to focus on branding and creativity / CTR. Tips/feedback appreciated, thank you!

Twitter Cards via Wordpress/Yoast
Hi I had set up a Twitter card via Yoast interface in clients Wordpress site but now want to change the summary copy. I have also had a look at Tiwtter dev zone and cant see any way of editing via that Does anyone know how to do this (edit the twitter card) since seems that once its set up via Yoast you cant edit it ? Suggested Social Stream Solution for Wordpress
Hi, I was looking for some ideas on Wordpress for social streaming. What I am looking for is to show my activity in the right sidebar of a blog. I would like to capture this in an attractive way. My site has a lot of pictures so visual is very important. Now having some some searching there are a thousand "share this" type plugins. My need is different in that I want to show the activity of what I am sharing in: FB, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. I found this plugin below that has several nice formats. Wordpress Social Button Plugins Change
Hi Guys, I'm thinking of changing the plugin I used on my blog for people to share my blog posts on Facebook, Twitter and Google +. If I do this, would I lose all shares (meaning that all the buttons would go back to 0, I know the shared content would still appear on people's profiles)? Thanks, Carlos

Are there any proven SEO benefits of presence and popularity on Facebook, just as there is supposedly benefit from Google+?

Merge Facebook profiles for SEO?
We are considering merging facebook profiles for our three stores. If we do this, users will not be able to "check in" at a location, but wouldn't it be better to have 4,000 fans on one profile than to have 2,500, 1,000, and 500 fans on the three profiles? The main site for these stores is also an ecommerce site.
