Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone can help me out...
We have recently been hit by the Google penguin update and I'm currently working though all the bad / spammy backlinks that previous SEO companies have built for us.
I have come across 1 particular domain www.justgoodcars.com they seem to have a lot of different domain names:
<colgroup><col width="390"></colgroup>
| http://www.justpumacars.com/ford-puma-warranties/1/United_Kingdom/all.html |
| http://www.justpuntocars.com/dutch-site/fiat-punto-warranties/1/United_Kingdom/all.html?selectcountry1=United_Kingdom |
| http://www.justpuntocars.com/fiat-punto-warranties/1/United_Kingdom/all.html?selectcountry1=United_Kingdom |Now all of theses domains names have exactly the same IP Address?? Above is just a few I would say there are 100s of them.
Do you think this could have an affect on us?
Thanks,
Scott

Wow! That's really sucks. Negative guy has no soul, heart or integrity. Ive often heard from other seo peeps in the industry that its not what they do to their site that makes them rank well, its what they find wrong with competition and report to google that gets them the best return.
The negative guy in forum post took this to a whole other level. Id love to hear what google has to say about that.

Thanks for the reply Anthony.
I've just ran 100 of the domains though and they all have the same IP Address - trying to get old of the company in question is proving a little bit more difficult...
I've just been reading this interesting post about 1 of the main domains names tho, what do you think of this? Could this have a big affect on our site?

If they are all coming from same IP address then yes, that could be a big problem. I would suggest seeing if there is a main contact that oversees all the sites and see if they can do a bulk link removal of all links pointing to your site.
Once you have all these links removed, your going to want to go out and replace a portion of them with quality links. Hope this helps some.

Is SEO as Effective on AJAX Sites?
Hey Everyone, I had a potential client contact me about doing SEO for their site and I see that they have an AJAX site where all the content is rendered dynamically via AJAX. I've been doing SEO for years, but never had a client with an AJAX site. I did a little research and see how you can setup alternative pages (or snapshots as Google calls them) with the actual content so the pages are crawlable and will get indexed, but I'm wondering if that is as effective as optimizing static HTML pages or if Google treats AJAX page alternatives as less trustworthy/valuable. Also, does having the site in AJAX effect link building and social sharing? With the link structure, it seems there could be some issues with pointing links and passing link juice to internal pages Thanks! Kurt

Links from random sites: Disavow?
I am looking at the links to my site from GWT. I see a bunch of random sites I've never heard of. I never made an effort to get links from these sites. Sites like | http://www.xlx.pl | Also found one porn site! Should I just ignore these or disavow them?

Separate Site or should we incorporate it into our main site
Hello, We have a website to sell personal development trainings. The owners want to start 2 blogs - one for each owner - that promotes their personal coaching practices. What's the SEO advantages of embedding both blogs in the current site vs starting 2 brand new blogs with their names as the domain names?

Multiple city network
Im currently setting up a large network and my original thought was to target keywords via the city and then setting up a website with the domain name being that keyword. Now im thinking that in the long run thats going to be a massive pain in my ass. Im thinking what i should do is something along these lines... "www.companyname.com/cityorkeywordhere" any thoughts? Thanks for the help

How would you fix this site?
We're currently in the IA and design phase of rolling out a complete overhaul of our main site. In the meantime I've been doing some SEO triage, but I wanted to start making a longer term plan for SEO during and after the new site goes up. We have a pretty decent domain authority, and some quality backlinks, but we're just getting creamed in the SERPs. And so on to my question: How would you fix this site? What SEO strategy would you employ? http://www.adoptionhelp.org Thanks!

Key page of site not ranking at all
Our site has the largest selection of dog clothes on the Internet. We're been (every so slowly) creeping up in the rankings for the "dog clothes" term, but for some reason only rank for our home page. Even though the home page (and every page on the domain) has links pointing to our specific Dog Clothes page, that page doesn't even rank anywhere when searching Google with "dog clothes site:baxterboo.com". http://www.google.com/webhp?source=hp&q=dog+clothes+site:baxterboo.com&#sclient=psy&hl=en&site=webhp&source=hp&q=dog+clothes+site:baxterboo.com&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=dog+clothes+site:baxterboo.com&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=f4efcaa1b8c328f Pages 2+ of product results from that page rank, but not the base page. It's not excluded in robots.txt, All on site links to that page use the same URL. That page is loaded with more text that includes the keywords. I don't believe there's duplicated content. What am I missing? Has the page somehow been penalized?
