Why if PR and DA are higher is this site lower in SERPS
-
Hi there
Why if PR and DA are higher is this site lower in SERPS.
Example:
Pos 1
www.inkfactory.com/ink-cartridges/samsung/sf4200-series
PR:1 DA:48
Pos 3
www.internet-ink.co.uk › SAMSUNG INK
PR:25 DA:60
I though is you had top DA and PR you should out rank those below you?

This question is asked over and over again in the SEOmoz Q&A.
"Wah! My DA is the best but my site isn't #1. WTF?"
This question rarely gets a satisfying answer and when it is answered well the person who asked the question is usually not happy to hear the truth.
This is one of the most widely used SEO tools on the internet and people don't know what it means.
Since these same questions recur so often and with such passion SEOmoz should address it with a detailed article that is obviously posted where the people who use this tool will clearly find it.
That will ensure that a good tool is used properly and so many people are not going around with their panties in a wad.

There are a lot of rank factors. One of the most important is "fresh content". If a site is updating and creating new content weekly, this site will be higher than other who his last post/article/edit was a long time a go.

Great DA but page authority not increasing!
Hey team, I hope you are doing great, I have been working effortlessly to increase the authority of my blog. I have used a number of Moz recommended methods like long-form content, posting frequency, getting references from influencers and great websites. It has all resulted in a good domain authority but no matter what I do, the page authority of my blog isn't increasing. Can you please have a look and guide: https://androidcompare.com/ Kind regards...

Latest from ... feature SERPs
Hello Mozers, this is probably (as per) a naive question, but, is the 'Latest from ***.com' element in SERPs an extract of Google News? I've added an example of what appears for 'Moz' in SERPs. MYn7Kh2

Tick mark against Free Shipping text in SERP
In Google SERP I saw a tick mark before the text such as Free Shipping, Cash on Delivery, etc. These are part of the second line of the description shown in the SERP. Is this coming from micro data or from some feature within the shopping cart?

Mobile SERPs
Morning Mozzers, Please can someone tell me if Mobile SERPs are different to desktop? Do they have a separate algorithm? Mobile makes up 50% of my sites traffic and I want to make sure I am visible on all devices. Any articles welcomed. Kind regards Ben, London

Pages fluctuating +/- 70 positions in Google SERPs?
I've got some pages that appear somewhere around #25 in Google. Every now and then, it just goes away from the top 100 results for a few days (even up to a week) and then it comes back. I've got other pages that rank around #8 which falls down to about #75 for a while and then it comes back. But while a page may be gone from the top 100 results in the US, it still ranks at about the same place everywhere else in the world (+/- 10 positions). I've seen this happen in the past but never it happened so often. What gives?!?

Why am I getting different Google SERP result for same keywords?
Hi Mozzers, I have noticed recently that Google (.com.au) has been serving up different SERP results for the same keywords. For example, one of our main keywords is "Car Loan". One result will show our site as ranking #5 organically from 242,000,000 results. A refresh of this search will then result in our site not ranking at all from 133,000,000 results. We have been noticing this happen only in the last few days & more frustrating is that Google is throwing up the SERP from 133,000,000 results more frequently. Would anyone know why this is occurring? And what can we do, if anything, to ensure we are shown regardless of how many results Google calls from? Is it from recent algo update & will it settle down over time? Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Just to add - I'm not gogged in to Google when completing this test & regularly clear cookies etc so I don't believe its a personalised search issue)

Relevant site outranked by powerful un-relevant sites
One of my clients has a site in a niche market, and has been ranking well for years. Since the Penguin algorithm changes his site dropped and 4-5 other sites came out of nowhere to take to top spots. These are very large sites, but they are not really reliant to the search terms. Sure, they sell one or two of the niche products, but our site is dedicated to those products. The site has been updated since I took over on the site, and is well SEOed. The site in question still ranks 1st for the keywords in every other search engine imaginable. Has anyone else encountered this? If so, how did you combat it?
