80 inbound links from sepperro.com

Hello
We have a link back to our site www.fenwaymedia.co.uk from the sepperro.com domain in the site's footers and Google Webmaster Tools reports 80 links coming back from the site.
I've thought about making the footer link nofollow and including a single dofollow link back to www.fenwaymedia.co.uk in the sepperro.com homepage. Is this a good solution, if it isn't, what is the best course of action to take to defend against possible penalties caused by all those inbound links from a single domain?

I am only saying what I would do if these sites belonged to me or if sepperro was my client. I would remove every link. These sites are not related by topic matter so those links probably do not help much or at all towards rankings.
If I needed links for fenway I would earn them from other media and design sites by creating excellent design and media content that they would link to because it is outstanding.
Also, if I owned a media and design biz I would be linking from my site to my client's sites and not from my client's site to my site. However, I know that in the media and design business it has long been customary to create backlinks on every page of every client site. Just saying that I would earn links from my competitors and colleagues rather than taking them from my clients.
You will find a lot of people in the media and design field who disagree with me. But I think that they are operating in the media biz that they should have no trouble getting positive press for themselves. I think that 20 links from colleagues and competitors would be a solid, high-density backlink profile that would be worth more than 1000 footer links from clients.

Thanks for the responses. Yes we own Sepperro but this is just a hobby site that has been stagnant for a while, rating are not so important concering it by the site it links ot is the business site fenway media .co.uk both sites are on different IP's.
Egol, you mentioned you would remove all of the links by your bet is ratings would increase. If that is the case should I not leave them be. It was an oversight that we have so many but it is easily resolved. After all we built the Sepperro website so it would make sense for at least one to remain,no!? However if 80 will improve Fenways rankings as a new site...should I leave them.

I would completely remove every one of those links... and other links that you have on the site.
My bet is that your rankings will not decline. I would not be surprised if they went up.
Are you concerned about how these links might change the rankings of sepperro.com?

So you own both domains I assume, since you can edit the Sepperro one? I would just make this one link on the homepage, footer links won't help much, especially being sitewide - or no-following the footer, as you said, would accomplish that as well.
Are both sites on the same IP?

Correct Internal Linking Strategy
Hello. So my website currently has 8 pages in total. (Homepage, 5 Service Pages, Contact, About). I currently have about 80 quality RD and my Homepage already ranks #8 for my main keyword, while all Service Pages (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5) are stuck somewhere at #30-60 positions for their target keywords. The Homepage has a sidebar with links to all Service Pages, and each Service Page has the same sidebar that links to each Service Page, but doesn't link back to my Homepage. Contact and About pages can be accessed only via the links in the menu. I don't have any contextual links on my website, so all pages that are important for SEO are linked only via this same very sidebar. All these Service Pages are equally valuable to me, but they don't seem to grow much in Google. The Onpage Score of these pages is better than those of TOP10 competitors, and my content provides more value (I used the Skyscraper Technique). Taking all that into consideration, can you please tell me what might be wrong? Why Should I build more quality backlinks to these service pages instead of the homepage? Should I add contextual links to all my service pages from the homepage? Does my internal linking strategy look good to you? If not, what should I change? Can I hit top #10 with my internal pages for their target keywords if I mainly build links only to my homepage? All keywords that I'm after have low to medium competition. Transferring link juice on a page with over 150 links
I'm building a resource section that will probably, hopefully, attract a lot of external links but the problem here is that on the main index page there will be a big number of links (around 150 internal links - 120 links pointing to resource sub-pages and 30 being the site's navigational links), so it will dilute the passed link juice and possibly waste some of it. Those 120 sub-pages will contain about 50-100 external links and 30 internal navigational links. In order to better visualise the matter think of this resource as a collection of hundreds of blogs categorised by domain on the index page (those 120 sub-pages). Those 120 sub-pages will contain 50-100 external links The question here is how to build the primary page (the one with 150 links) so it will pass the most link juice to the site or do you think this is OK and I shouldn't be worried about it (I know there used to be a roughly 100 links per page limit)? Do Sitespect links get indexed?
I put a link on one of my websites using sitespect because the next release is not for a few weeks. The reason for the link is to pass domain authority (SEO Juice) to the linked site. In my next release I will add the link in the actual code, but am hoping that from now till then google will crawl and index this link. Solutions for too many on-page links?
We have just begun using SEO Moz a few months ago and have been busy cleaning up some of our warnings and errors. One of the errors that has been an issue is ... too many on-page links. I am trying to correct this issue and I am wondering how seo moz counts these links. For instance... we have links to many of our product categories in a drop down from our main menu, those same links are listed in our footer. Does this get counted as two or only one link. If two, should we make one of the link no follow or how would you best suggest correcting this. Our website is www.unikeyhealth.com Since the menu and the footer appear on virtually every page on our site correcting this issue will quickly sort out this problem. Thanks for any advice.

Linking root domains and youtube
All of my competitors have high linking root domains from youtube and our isn't showing up although we have 1.5 million views to youtube. I tried adding our URL to the videos but it hasn't recognized as a linking root domain. What should I do?? How do I stop www.mysite.com/ showing as a duplicate of www.mysite.com
I have run the campaigns software over a site and it is showing that www.mysite.com/ is a duplicate of www.mysite.com, how do I correct this? Is it a genuine duplicate page? My first thought was to use rel canonical but there is no page called / to put it on. Your suggestions welcomed Sean

Internal linking with Old Content
Hello, I have a sports website in which users write their opinions about the sporting events that take place every day throughout the year. Each of these sporting events generates a new page or URL indicating the match with date. For example: www.domain.com/baseball/boston-v-yankees-04-24-2012-1234.html The teams face several times a year, and each match creates a different URL or page. I would like to link old pages to new pages and vice versa. How would you recommend these pages to be linked? Linking them to each other or linking old pages to new pages that are generated or otherwise? I would appreciate your orientation and help in this case. Thank you.
