Query: Analytics Goal Conversion
-
Please see the attached image. Can anyone please explain the attached image.
Goal Overview tab says 8 Goals.
but in the attached image says, 3 visitors finished, I've even set the required step as well, so it is also not possible to goal might have completed from any other page.
Thanks

You're Right Doug, Thanks for the help. I got the answer

I don't know if you saw my edit to the reply above, but the funnels you set up in the goal setup only apply to the funnel visualisation report which may account for some disparity with the numbers.
I usually take a look at the Reverse Goal Path, selecting a tight time frame to check the numbers. I'll often see more goal conversions here (as it's not applying the funnel) than when I look at the funnel visualisation report.
You'll see the direct entrances that didn't pass through the funnel, but you should be able to count up the visits that did and tally these with the funnel visualisation.
The Goal Flow visualisation is always a bit out as it uses a sample of the data. Good for big picture stuff, but you can't use it if you want to know the exact numbers.
The Goals Overview does not take your funnel into account. It's the total number of people hitting your goal page regardless of whether they followed your funnel or not so this will tend to be higher. Again you can use the Goal Reverse Path or Goal URLs and select the previous step as a secondary dimension to see how the number work.

Doug, it is quite possible that some visitors would directly be going to the goal Page, but when I've already created a funnel for goal conversion and required step is also there so I assume that it should not be counted as converted goals at least not in Google Analytics, isn't it?
Its been a week now, but tracking has started yesterday only. Required step added the same day I created Goals and funnel.

Please check the first image in Question. that one is admin section screen shot.
-
Providing a screen shot of the admin screen where the goal is set up may be of use.
-
It looks like you've getting some visits directly to your goal page. I suspect you'll find that the page is in google's index try looking for:
site:www.{yourdomain}.com "thanks"
How long have your goals been set up? Do your current goal setting apply for the entire period? When did you add the required step?
Edit: Also note that the funnels you set up in the goal setup only apply to the funnel visualisation report which may account for some disparity with the numbers.
Do you know how many actual conversion there have been? How many contact emails?
-
This is only Goal which I've created as an experiment. I need to create several other goals as well.
Could you please be specific with what exactly you need from me?
PFA the other possible screen shot for your perusal
Thanks,
-
Can you provide some more information - such as a screenshot of your goals overview page? I'd hard so see what's happening from just the one image of your funnel.
How many goals have you set up? Is this the only one?
The image you've posted does indeed show that nobody entered the goal page without going through the proceeding step.

Facebook conversions - issue in calculation
Hi, I have a few campaigns for conversions on Facebook, but any of them don't show to me real numbers. There are 4 times more conversions on Facebook than in GA. I did a little research. The problem is that - Facebook pixel calculates all possible conversions from all sources, and because my campaign results are wrong e.g.: Facebook campaign results: Conversions: 10 | Cost per conversion: 1 GA for that campaign (real numbers): Conversions 1 | Cost per conversion: 1 GA from all campaigns and sources: 10 It's that correct? Pls help. Br. Marco

Tracking Facebook Mobile Visits to Desktop Conversions?
Hi. If I set an ad in Facebook, I can obviously track visits, conversions and so on from that ad and see if they where mobile or desktop. However, how do I, if possible track a mobile visitor who the converts on a desktop? Eg. I go on XXX Facebook Ad on my mobile whilst in work, look around. Like what I see. Then I go home from work, open my laptopn and go on XXX website and send an email enquiry form in. Is this possible to track? Thanks

Vat conversion rates (UK)
Does anyone have any evidence about the impact of displaying or not displaying prices including VAT on your website on conversions? A client wants to show prices excluding VAT so the prices look competitive with their competition who also display excluding VAT (20% UK sales tax). I have explained that the sudden 20% increase to the basket cost will put off a lot of customers (even if all prices are marked as excluding tax) but they will not listen. We have previously displayed both prices but this looked messy and customers got confused. What I really need is some research that shows what the impact of doing this is (ignoring the fact that it is not even allowed by HMRC). Any thoughts welcome!

Are website optimization and conversion rate optimization roughly the same thing?
This is mostly a semantics question, but I also want to check that I have a basic understanding of the two concepts. Are the two terms more or less interchangeable or are there any crucial differences? I always thought of website optimization as the complementary partner to SEO. While the ultimate goal of SEO is getting people TO your website, website optimization is focused on refining your website so that those people STAY on your website. When I think of conversion rate optimization, I'd imagine that's pretty much the same goal. Refining a website so that more people stay and ultimately convert (buy something, subscribe to a newsletter, etc). Is my understanding of one (or both) of them flawed, or is it six of one, half a dozen of the other? Thanks!

Need Advice on Home page Conversion Rate Improvement - not much $$s
Anyone out there have some suggestions for how I can improve my home page and increase my lousy conversion rate? I've spent years on the content and SEO optimization of my site and very little time on making a home page that sells stuff. Caveat - I don't have the money to go to one of those fancy companies who do a complete makeover and charge in the tens of thousands. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! How Do I Create a Google Analytics Dashboard for My Designer To Monitor Landing Page A/B Testing
Hello All, We recently started doing some "AdWords Experiments" using A/B testing of our search landing pages. My web design team does not have access to our AdWords account, but they do have "user" access to our Google Analytics account. What I need to figure out how to do is setup an easy dashboard (or custom report) that will show them at a quick glance how the two versions of their page are performing in terms of: Goal Completions (Conversions) where the specific page is the entrance/landing page. Bounce Rate Time spent on site where the specific page is the entrance/landing page. Pages viewed where the specific page is the entrance/landing page. Possibly a way to see the most popular page visited 'next' after starting on the specific entrance/landing page Anything else that might be useful The two URLs would be like: http://www.domain.com/search/testa/
