Thoughts on how to make this page better
-
I wrote a post that's doing really well in search and want to take it up a notch. It's about ipad cases for kids. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how I can step the page up a bit. Maybe add sub headings for the various iPads? Something else?
When I wrote this post the new batch of ipad's weren't out so I'm thinking I should add subheadings for the various ipads. Any other ideas?
Thanks.

It looks like that post is doing really well. I think SEO5's suggestion is the way to go. I'd be concerned about trying to over-optimize your current post that is already doing so well. You had some great comment activity, good social signals, all-in-all a great win for you. That page will probably continue to improve with time too, since it's a perfect link-bait kind of post. Congrats.

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought about doing that but don't you think the content would be to thin or look like duplicate content? I'm thinking it would be better to keep that all on one page sort of like an iPad case buying guide.

My suggestion would be to do a series of follow up posts on this related topic and optimize them for related keywords that are getting traction out there. We had a similar situation with one of our clients . The post addressed the topic of the best days of the week to buy airline tickets. (It is Wednesday, in case you're wondering what it is :)) . It was hugely successful and the client wrote a series of follow up posts to that and they all did fairly well. He linked them all together so one fed the other in terms of traffic.

What's the best way to go about making Duplicate Content Pages on my domain for affiliates?
Hello, I would like to make a bunch of duplicate pages of my site's Home Page, that way affiliates of mine can have a page of their own with links specialized to themselves littered throughout the page. What's the best practice going about this without jeopardizing domain authority from tons of duplicate content signals firing off?

Affiliate links and parameters creating duplicate page titles
Hi, we have an affiliate system and use rel=**canonical **to canonicalise them to the right link. Still, we see those links creating duplicate page titles, in Moz crawl and in Google search console. How are we supposed to treat those links so they do not create duplicate content? Thanks for your help!

How do the engines look at pages populated using content from an affiliate site?
We are building out a section of our site using an affiliate partnership in the travel space. How would you suggest organizing the content so we do not get penalized for duplicate content? Do you suggest not suing the content at all?

Two Tier Internet, Bad Blogs and One page Affiliate Sites
Hi, I start a post on a popular internet marketing forum about how bad blogs - (i.e. the ones with one posts of over optimise spun garbage) - and the one page affiliate sites - trying to sell you something... (you know the ones) - were REALLY starting to annoy me and if/when something would be done by ISP's or Anyone really. Obviously google is aware of the issue with trying to push Google Plus to crowd source better search results. But with more and more sites popping up telling people how they can make money from having a niche website/page with adwords on it aren't we fast moving to a two tier internet.... How websites/pages exist purely to game search engines.... and will they ever disappear.... Sorry mini rant..... might even get some ideas for a blog post 😛 (not on a bad blog before anyone says anything)

Effectiveness of Landing Page Goal
Let's say you have a landing page that aims to get people to click on an affiliate offer. Now to measure the effectiveness of that landing page in Google Analytics, We would bring up the page stats, like the image attached. Would I be right in assuming the people clicking on my affiliate link (and leaving my site) would be included in the "% Exit" stat. Of course this figure also includes those that either close their browsers, or typed something in the address bar. ... And the "Bounce Rate" are those that clicked on the Back button on their browser. Is that right? 55Qxx.png

Duplicate versions of pages on my site are getting indexed by Google...I think...
Hello, Our site has a very high bounce rate, which in part is down to a slightly old fashioned design, and also because we are a retailer and I imagine many visitors are simply quickly comparing prices and then leaving. However, having had a look in Google Analytics, I think that there is another issue that is contributing to a very high bounce rate. When I look in Content > Top Content, and order the pages in order of Bounce Rate, high to low, there are hundreds of instances of pages with just one or two visits in the last month, and a 100% bounce rate. The links are the same as our home page or pages on our website, but with extra letters and numbers at the end of the url. We have an affiliate scheme, which provides our affiliates with unique codes for the products they want to link to, and my guess is that these urls are getting indexed. I've looked at a few other links, and they go to translated versions of a page from our website, generated by Google. Other urls seem to have been generated by search results from our own search on the website. What worries me is that there are lots and lots of versions of the same page, with slightly different urls. I am by no means an SEO expert - I work for a very small company and am basically learning as I go - but I know that duplicate content is bad news. If the pages were on our own site, we could use 301s to redirect, but what about translated versions, or urls generated by affiliate schemes, or search results? Many thanks, Sophy
