Multiple Sites Duplicate Content Best Practice
-
Hi there, I have one client (atlantawidgets.com) who has a main site. But also has duplicate sites with different urls targeting specific geo areas.
I.e. (widgetmakersinmarietta.com)
-
Would it be best to go ahead and create a static home page at these add'l sites and make the rest of the site be nonindexed?
-
Or should I go in and allow more pages to be indexed and change the content? If so how many, 3, 5, 8? I don't have tons of time at this point.
3)If I change content within the duplicate sites, what % do I need to change. Does switching the order of the sentences of the content count? Or does it need to be 100%fresh?
Thanks everyone.

_A tough choice. As the geo specific sites are not Country code top-level domains, it will be all the more difficult for you to make Google understand that the purpose of launching these websites is to serve the local targeted readers. It might even look like an attempt of domain farming whose main purpose is to rank high in location specific keywords by launching keywords rich domains.
If your business has physical business address in these locations, you can submit your business details in Google Places. And of course you are free to create location specific pages in your main website given the fact that you are adding some interesting details there. No stuffing of keywords or rehash content just to get higher rankings in competitive terms. _

If main and duplicate sites are already indexed then I would suggest implementing canonical element on the duplicate sites with the main site URLs as preferred URLs.
New pages can be blocked by adding "noindex" on the page.
All the best !

Duplicate content when working with makes and models?
Okay, so I am running a store on Shopify at the address https://www.rhinox-group.com. This store is reasonably new, so being updated constantly! The thing that is really annoying me at the moment though, is I am getting errors in the form of duplicate content. This seems to be because we work using the machine make and model, which is obviously imperative, but then we have various products for each machine make and model. Have we got any suggestions on how I can cut down on these errors, as the last thing I want is being penalised by Google for this! Thanks in advance, Josh

Moving content from 1 site to another
Hi Moz'ers I have recently taken over the company I work for (www.prendas.co.uk) and want to migrate approx 200 pages from my hobby site to my company's eCommernce website on Shopify Plus. The content (text/photos) are highly relevant to the company, is unique & written by me and will hopefully generate some sales. I have a plan to gradually move them all over (I intend on doing 2-5/day) into a specific blog section to house them all. I'll then create an Apache perm. redirect to the old site too. Where and how much; Schema best practices.
Couple of schema questions: Should I 'only' mark up the contact page, as this has the most information? What about the header and footer, should I tag everything there also? If I do mark up the header, footer, and contact page, I end up with 3 "LocalBusiness" entries in Google testing tool, is that bad?

How to fix duplicate content errors with Go Daddy Site
I have a friend that uses a free GoDaddy template for his business website. I ran his site through Moz Crawl diagnostics, and wow - 395 errors. Mostly duplicate content and duplicate page title I dug further and found the site was doing this: URL: www.businessname.com/page1.php and the duplicate: businessname.com/page1.php Essentially, the duplicate is missing the www. And it does this 2 hundred times. How do I explain to him what is happening?
