Keyword variation.

Hello dear community,
I'm just starting to really understand how seo and in-page optimization works that to SEOMoz. I have done alot of seo for my other pages in the bad way expecting great results which acually hurt me more than help
So right now I'm working on application which takes screenshots of your desktop and upload small files on the portals you select. I have done the website (template and most of the content) but I would like to know when I'm going to start and build some links, what are some of the best keywords I should choose?
I do understand already than this is not an exact math, but any kind of help would be awesome!
I would like to focus more around "screenshot" keyword and not that much on file upload. I know I may ask kind of much, but anything is better.
With great respect,
Akhlis

Hi Labici,
I don't really know your niche and industry so I simply went to Google's Keywords Tool and entered Screenshot and got a few keyword ideas that got pretty high search volume but low competition (long tail keywords).

screen shot software
screenshot program
Those 3 above are only examples. You can try it out yourself to find a some low competition but high search volume keyword ideas.
Furthermore, if you are a SEOmoz PRO member, you can use their keyword research tool to find keyword alternative or ideas as well.

Should anchor text be local or global keyword?
One of my clients' run a hyperlocal marketplace (have different pages for each city) to hire music teachers. When I am doing link building, should I use anchor text as "violin teachers" or "violin teachers in boston". I suggested to use "violin teachers" as this is the primary keyword with high search volume and if we rank for this keyword, we will automatically rank for locality keywords like violin teachers in boston, violin teachers in new york, violin teachers in los angels etc. But, he argues that we are hyper local services, which means we should have city anchor texts like "violin teachers in boston", "violin teachers in new york", "violin teachers in los angels" etc. Am I right? or Is he right? and Why?

Should I work with current site or start a new site with more keywords?
I have been working with my site for some time. Sadly, I am moving lower and lower in ranking. I am wondering if I should just transfer my site to a new URL (this time including keywords). I don't understand the whole disavow link thing. I hired someone about 2 years ago, when I lost my ranking due to malicious software. Well, it turns out that, she submitted my link to weird sites that I don't even know what they are. It is like sites with thousands of websites just listed. Things have never been half of what they were and I am really just growing frustrated. I understand that having an a URL for awhile is helpful, but I appear to have lost many of my good linking sites. Any thoughts?

Buying keyword urls for local traffic
Hi, I've been told that there is a real benefit in buying up local domain names and setting up mini adverts to your core website... is this actually true? Seems a strange practice. Example: If I had a car cleaning site called 'MozCarCleaning.co.uk' and the company was based in London. Then I'd buy related domains, 'LondonCarCleaning.co.uk' , 'CarValetLondon.co.uk' and make mini websites which then link to the main site. Alternatively, would it be worth just 301 redirecting directly to the core site? Thanks.

Main keyword problem
Hello Since the latest Google update our main keyword has been dropping. We employed a SEO company about 6 weeks ago and since then the keyword has dropped a couple of pages further on Google. We have been using the Remove'em site to check our backlinks and a blog this SEO company have done has appeared on the list. The DA is good but the PA is low. In the blog they have linked the exact keyword to our site homepage. Do you think the blogs the SEO company are doing will be causing us more problems? Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks

How do I best leverage second EMD domain with same keyword as an important page on my other site?
(Fictional domain names and keywords follow) Let's say I have an Adense site called Diets.com And on that site I've got 10 pages for the ten most popular diets, and each of those pages is optimized for the diet name. Let's imagine one of these pages is called, "The low-carb diet." Then I went out and purchased the domain name LowCarbDiet.com. How do I best use this new domain name? My options seem to be: 1. Build an adsense site on LowCarbDiet.com. But isn't it a problem when the the same owner of LowCardDiet.com and Diets.com are trying to rank for the same keyword? The new site would be trying to rank for "low carb diet" and so would the appropriate page on Diets.com. I think Google doesn't like this. True? 2. Make a one-page introductory informational site with no ads on the new LowCarbDiet.com. Have a prominent link from that site to the appropriate page on Diets.com for the reader to get "further information." This link with the proper anchor text should help boost the page in Diets.com in the SERPs. IF Google doesn't dislike that. SO...is one idea better than the other? Are neither a good idea? Is there a better way to utilize this new domain? It's important because this second domain name's keyword is about to get a huge amount of search traffic. The new, parked domain name is currently registered in the same name as the existing site's name. I could change the registration or privacy it, but I assume Google maintains records of all past registered owners, and if so, I can't really hide ownership.

Keywords Ranking Secret?
When I searched "long dresses" in Google.com, and found the following page is ranked on top 10 http://www.shopstyle.com/browse?fts=long+summer+dresses But there is no back link pointing to this page, so why does this company manage to rank high for such a competitive keyword without link building? Any opinions?
