Google places - are you still registering your companies?

Is Google plus taking over from Google Places?
I have our company and website registered on Google places and Google Plus.
Now we have a new website ( same company different product) Should I register a new listing on Google places?
And what about Google Plus?
-
Hello!
Google+ Local is Google's new interface for their local index and is their attempt to increase the social aspects of Local. However, Google Places still exists in that it is the dashboard via which the listings are still being controlled by many business owners. So both things still exist.
If you'd like to read more from the period of time when Google+ Local was first rolled out, here's a good post that also links to a ton of other announcement-style posts from that time:
http://marketing-blog.catalystemarketing.com/google-plus-local-google-places.html
You should not create a second listing for your second website. If you have 1 business, you are entitled to just one listing.
See:
http://support.google.com/places/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=107528
I recommend that you study those guidelines and be sure you are complying with them to the letter. This rule specifically applies to your situation:
Businesses with multiple specializations, such as law firms and doctors, should not create multiple listings to cover all of their specialties. You may create one listing per practitioner, and one listing for the hospital or clinic at large.
Regarding your EMD sites, I just want to check in to be sure that you are aware of the recent, large penalties affecting those types of websites. If not, here's some good reading on this topic:

WE are Realors and have a real estate site,
I created created a couple of new EMD sites . Finding a realtor, 1st time home buyer etc
and now do not know if I should create new google place registrations and new google+ registrations of just keep adding the new domains to the existing Google places registration.

Google Plus is not replacing Google Places, rather they are both important in their own retrospects, and for their own reasons.
Also, If the company is the same, then you should just edit your current Plus page, and Places Profile, to feature your new site.
Are you keeping the old site too?

Site appearing and disappearing from google serps.
Hi, My website is normally on page 2-3 on google consistently. Over the past month it has been appearing and then completely disappearing from the serps. One day it will be on page 2, then the next day completely missing from the serps. When i check the index it seems to be indexed correctly when doing site:mysite.com. I don't understand why this keeps happening, any experience with this issue? It doesn't seem to be a google dance as far as I can tell. When my other sites dance they typically just go up or down a few ranks for a couple weeks until they stabilize. Not completely fall off the search engine.

Hi, As per Google analytics, we are loosing around 15% of new sessions every year comparing to the previous. But the sessions are increasing. Good that sessions increased; but new sessions are getting reduced. What exactly we can understand from this scenario? Thanks

Anyone experience google penalties for full-screen pop-ups?
Although we always recommend against onload pop-ups for clients, (we feel the effect the user experience) we do have a few clients that insist on them. I was reading this article the other day https://searchenginewatch.com/2016/05/17/how-do-i-make-sure-my-site-is-mobile-friendly/ which lead me to https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6101188 and I'm happy to see that Google is going to consider these types of content a downgrade when it comes to rank. My question is 2 fold: Has anyone experienced a drop in organic traffic on mobile due to this update? and do you think this will include user triggered content like photo galleries, bookings, email sign ups? We haven't noticed any drops yet but it is something we will be keeping a close eye on in the next little while. Let's hear what the community has to say 🙂

Could Retail Price Be A Google Ranking Factor???
I have not done any detailed studies on this but it seems that Google might be using low retail prices for specific items as a ranking factor in their organic SERPs. Does anyone else suspect this? Just askin' to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Google penalty for one keyword?
Is it possible to get penalized by Google for a specific keyword and essentially disappear from the SERPs for that keyword but keep position for the brand (#1) and some other keywords (#4 and #7)? And how would you find out that this is what happened if there is no GWT message?

Do scraped or borrowed articles with my links still pass page rank?
I wrote some articles for Ezine Articles a few years back and i still see links in the ose to my site that are from these articles that were borrowed from the Ezine Articles bank. Do the links in these articles still count toward my site including link juice and anchor text or does google discount them as duplicate content? I was told that Google counts these links for about 3 weeks and then discounts them as duplicate content so it's like they don't exist. Any truth to this or should i make the articles on my site available for people to copy and paste into their blogs as long as they keep my links intact? Thanks, Ron

Home page replaced by subpage in google SERP (good or bad)
SInce Panda, We have seen our home page drop from #2 in google.ie serp to page 3 but it has been replaced in the same position @#2 by our relevent sub page for the keyword that we ranked#2 for. Is this a good or bad thing from and seo point of view and is it better to have deep pages show in serp rather than the homepage of a site and what is the best line of action from here in relation to seo. Is it best to work on subpage or home page for that keyword and should link building for that phrase be directed towards the subpage or the homepage as the subpage is obviously more relevent in googles eyes for the search term. It is clear that all areas of the site should be looked at in relation to link building and deep links etc but now that google is obviously looking at relevancy very closely should all campaigns be sectioned into relevent content managed sections and the site likewise and treated on an individual basis. Any help that you may have would be very welcome. Paul
