Does this make sense to recover from panda?

Hello guys, our website was pandalized on 9/27/2012 and we haven't been able to recover since then.
I've fixed as much as possible when it comes to poor content, and we have been getting high quality links consistently for the past 3-4 months.
Our blog had some duplicate content issues due to categories, tags, feeds, etc. I solved those problems before the past 2 refreshes without success.
I'm considering moving the blog to a subdomain, more than PR, I'm interested in recovering from panda, and let the blog grow on its own. What do you think about that?

Subdomaining will take time.
I subdomained a lot of content, and almost 2 months later, google is still looking for the content on the main domain, still reporting it as missing, still marking site health poorly because of those pages, and still showing them all in both places in the search index.
One possibility after seeing the new pages indexed, is to use the webmaster tools delete URL feature. You only have a few hundred blog pages, so that won't take long.
After two months, I wish I could tell you that it fixed my problem, but it hasn't.
Subdomaining the blog is not likely to hurt you. Remember you will need to set it up so you can have a separate robots file and a separate sitemap.
Also,
1. be sure that you've covered all the bases, that mainsite links that point to the blog now have the fully qualified URL.
2. be sure that any links on the blog that point to the main site are also fully qualified URLs, and not relative, therefore making a broken link.

Yes, for sure panda, that's what webmaster tools and analytics say. The blog does link to our main site, but only from the /blog home page. I did this on purpose, I didn't want hundreds of internal links with the same anchor text.
I'll have a look at our privacy policy on the blog and might replace it with the one from truste.
Regarding the business resources page, I agree that the content doesn't offer much for Google to see, so I might consider "noindex" for it.
Traffic loss, most of our organic traffic from Google. We are doing well on Yahoo and Bing (improving every week actually).
The poor links you see come from negative SEO done against us in may '12. Thankfully most of those comments are nofollow.

Dave, are you sure that was panda?
What does your webmaster tools account tell you?
Have you fixed all duplicate titles, descriptions and pages?
What traffic have you lost?
Was it only google or yahoo and bing as well?
Here are some observations:
First, look at your link profile - it doesn't look good to me
I didn't see a link from your blog to your home page
You have no terms of use link on the blog pages
There are 2 privacy policies. One for the blog, and one for the main site, but that policy is on the truste site
The privacy policy on the blog says nothing about cookies, or collected email addresses.
The Business Resources page has no content the search engines can see.
The "Our Programs" menu item does nothing
Some pages don't have much content.

I agree with it, I think a fresh new blog with a new subdomain will help fix the issue. Aside from loosing PR on the blog, I don't see any real issues with it. My advice is go for it!

How to best add affiliate links in a way that minimizes panda risk?
We have a site of about 100.000 pages that is getting several million of visitors per year via organic search. We plan to add about 50.000 new pages gradually in the next couple of months and would like to add affiliate links to the new pages. All these 50.000 new pages will have unique quality data that a team has been researching for a while. I would like to add in the area under the fold or towards the end of the pages in an unobstrusive way affiliate links to about 5 different affiliate programs with affiliate links customized to page content and of real value to visitors. Since affiliate links are one of the factors that may trigger panda I am a bit nervous whether we should add the affiliate links and if there is any way of implementing the affiliate links in a way that they may be less likely to trigger panda. E.g. would you consider hiding affiliate links from google by linking to intermediate URL (which I would mark as noindex nofolllow) on our domain which then redirects to the final affiliate landing page (but google may notice via chrome or android data) ? Any other idea?

How to make the most of our data, charts and graphs online?
Hi, Our business has an enormous amount of data at our disposal, which we have traditionally only ever printed in our offline publications. I am aware however that much of this information would be of great use to people searching for the topics we cover online, so it strikes me that there must be a way to represent our data, tables and graphs online to maximise the visibility of the information. For example rather than simply including an image of a graph on a web page and editing the alt text to something like "Saudi Arabia economic growth 1995-2016", is there a way to publish this data online that will give search engines and users some good contextual information about what we are trying to show? Would certain rich snippets for example do the trick? Any help or pointers that could be provided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Lou

Website hit by something, but not sure if penguin or panda?
Hi my site was doing ok, last week, humming along and increase in traffic. We felt that all the work removing bad links had worked. then all of a sudden, bang traffic dropped and is still dropping day by day. The strange thing as well is all the social media, bing and yahoo traffic has also dried up! Has anyone else had something smiler?

Fastest Way To Remove Footer Link? (post-Panda)
Hello, I have a website with 1k+ links pointed directly to an inner page and home page from blogspot domains. There are 3 links in the footer that points to different locations. 1st anchor text points to the person who designed the page template and links to their website (this doesn't affect us) 2nd anchor text uses a direct keyword that I am trying to rank for and links to the inner page. 3rd anchor text uses my website name and links to the home page I know that these are not good links and the content inside the pages are irrelevant to my own website. The links are embedded into the template on the footer and is site wide.I have already contacted the designer and have the links removed but those that have downloaded the templates still have the footer link. What would be the best way to remove all these footer links? Trying to contact each individual person who is using the template is not working out as most have not responded and some of the websites have not seen an update in years! Any thoughts? How do you make short tail keyword determinations when combined with long tail when there is not enough search volume to provide info
Confusing question, allow me to elaborate We have a few pages that target a particular doctor for example. One of those pages is about his backround. His short tail is his name "Dr Irving Weiss" for example, low competition of course and already too low of search volume to show in Google keywords tool (which i know isn't the best tool) so now one of his tab pages addresses info on his medical background (credentials, schools, awards, sanctions) if you search for those single keywords alone you get something like this hospitals 74,000 background 673,000 credentials 49,000 but that doesn't necessarily mean more people will search like "dr irving weiss background" than they will "dr irving weiss credentials" just because background has more searches "dr irving weiss background" and "dr irving weiss credentials are way too low search volume to have any data on, so how can you come to a proper keyword targeting conclusion when the data is not there? How would I be able to make sure Google lists search results as a combined listing opposed to a single listing/
I am slightly confused about how to let Google know to index our site as a complex listing opposed to individual page listing. Our site is well established and has over 3500 indexes. Need some urgent Panda advice. Open discussion about recovering from the Panda algorithm.
I have a site that has been affected by Panda, and I think I have finally found the problem. When I created this site in the year 2006, I bought content without checking it. Recently, when I went through the site I found out that this content had many duplicates around the web. Not 100% exact, but close to. The first thing I did is ask my best writer to rewrite these topics, as they are a must on my site. This is a very experienced writer, and she will make the categories and subpages outstanding. Second thing I did was putting a NOINDEX, FOLLOW robots meta in place for the pages I determined being bad. They haven't been de-indexed yet. Another thing I recently did is separate other languages and move these over to other domains (with 301's redirecting the old locations to the new.) This means that the site now has a /en/ directory in the URL which is no longer used. With this in mind I was thinking to relocate the NEW content, and 301 the old (to preserve the juice for a while.) For example: http://www.mysite.com/en/this-is-a-pandalized-page/ 301 to http://www.mysite.com/this-is-the-rewritten-page/ The benefits of doing this are: decreasing the amounts of directories in the URL getting rid of pages that are possibly causing trouble getting fresh pages added to the site Now, the advice I am looking for is basically this: Do you agree with the above? Or don't you agree? If you don't, please be so kind to include a reason with your answer. Infographic: How do I make one out of this outline?
Hello, I'm making an important infographic for nlpca(dot)com on "What is NLP?" The content is going to come from this page, the creator of which is a close friend of ours: http://www.nlpu.com/NewDesign/NLPU_WhatIsNLP.html I've attached an outline of the content. My concern is that this is not a collection of statistics, but it is a very complex definition. So it's not a true infographic, but "What is NLP" is the most searched for content in our industry (and the nlpu.com link above is the strongest ranking page for that term). I'm wanting help in getting direction on how to create a stellar graphic out of this, so we can get stellar targeted content and gain a group of backlinks from the project.
