Website redesign and it's impact on ranking

Hey Everyone,
I have had a website in place for over 7 years and I am now at the point where I need to implement a redesign in order to sell our product more effectively.
-URL's will stay the same
-Content will change but be very similar page-to-page
-Title & Meta tags will remain the sameI'm planning on taking the site from a non-backend site to a wordpress site so the navigation will change.
Does anyone foresee that this change will have any dramatic effect on site ranking?

Provided that you do everything James is suggesting, you shouldn't have an issue.
I've noticed small dips in rankings immediately after a redesign, only to regain their original positions within 2 weeks (or so).

If you keep the same URL structure and properly SEO optimize the WP site then you shouldn't have any problems with rankings. I recommend using the Yoast SEO plugin for Wordpress and making sure you correctly implement your robots.txt file to block any archives or duplicate content that might get created by Wordpress when you bring the content over. Wordpress has author archives, date based archives, etc and you need to make sure you don't get any duplicate content indexed. The Yoast SEO plugin has a great post here with all the details:

Sudden disappearance from google organic ranking
I have been ranked in top 5 for all relevant search terms for years. I have been in business for 25 years and am modestly speaking the best in our field. The name of my company is "Alaska Yacht Charters" and suddenly I have disappeared from Google search. Google "alaska yacht charters" and I am nowhere to be found. My company's product is referred to by two different names (SVN and Subversion). When cleaning up our Title tags, is it OK to use either name to keep the title tags around 70 characters?
I am cleaning up title tags that are too long or not correct. In our title tag we reference our product (a version of OSS source code). This product is often referred to as both SVN or Subversion. When writing Title tags is it OK to use one or the other depending on the length of the Title Tag? Duplicate Content: Snippets from Blog on Website
Our company has a website and a blog, each on a separate domain. On our website's home page, we include snippets from some of our blog posts and links to such posts. The snippets include the same photo, title, and first line or so of text. We have been told and am concerned that search engines will categorize this as duplicate content. Has anyone noticed a big delta between Google and Bing rankings? For example, we rank favorably in Google, but not so favorably in Bing. Are there different tactics I should use to rank better in Bing?
An example is in Google, we currently rank #1 & #2 for "yoga pants" for Athleta and Old Navy. In Bing, I'm on page 2. Any thoughts here?
