How About Moving My Site to Another Domain?

My website has been hit by a Google Penguin penalty. At this point, it seems very few websites have recovered from this penalty even after it was lifted.
That said, I'm still wondering if I should start a new website or my current one to another domain.
When I started my website, I registered the domain name http://www.thewebhostinghero.com
A few years later, I bought webhostinghero.com as it became available.
Actually, webhostinghero.com redirects traffic to thewebhostinghero.com at the registrar level. There are barely any links pointing to webhostinghero.com.
TheWebHostingHero.com is quite a big website with over 1400 pages and some very useful tools (http://www.thewebhostinghero.com/free-tools) that took me so long to develop, I just can't believe I'd have to throw it all out the window.
So that said, do you think it would be possible to move all or some of the content from thewebhostinghero.com to webhostinghero.com? Would that make sense? Would webhostinghero.com come out as a copy of thewebhostinghero.com since the domain is similar, etc.?
Of course, moving the content from thewebhostinghero.com to webhostinghero.com would have to be done without any 301/302 redirects to avoid passing bad link juice. At the same time, I don't want to end up with duplicate content on both domains.

I submitted a reconsideration request but it was denied. I'm still trying to find out where those bad links are cause I did a hell of a job at cleaning bad links and disavowing those I couldn't get removed. I must have missed a handful of links and I'm trying to find them but in the meantime, the website is still penalized.
Basically, I have strong doubt that any small website ever recovers from a Penguin penalty so I'm wondering if I'm wasting my money by maintaining this site.

Wow, this is a hard one.
There are several things to consider here:
- Have you tried fixing the penalty issue? Removing the links, using disavow tool and submitting a reconsideration request?
- If you did, have you waited long enough to say you haven't recovered from it?
- If you start from scratch using the other domain, remove the other one to avoid duplicate content, start with a new site completely. I would even try to redo the content.
- Does it worth it? How long will it take for the new site to reach what you have now with the penalized site?
- etc, etc.
It will be ultimately your decision and yours only. But consider all the pros/cons and first of all, try fixing the error. Redeem yourself, if that works, it will be so much better, and easier.

Old Redirected Domain is replacing my current domain on SERPs
Hello everyone, All of a sudden a 2 year old redirected domain is replacing my current domain for 2 weeks now, my site is apitus.com and my old domain is aptitus.pe (the redirect is still working), however this only happens on my country google results (google.com.pe), if you check my site on google.com, everything looks ok even with a sitelink, which I no longer have on my country search results. Back to the issue, the first thing I thought was go to Search Console and take it out from the index, so I asked for access by uploading a file but since everything on that old site redirects to my current site I can't make such action. Is there a way to tell which redirect - from another domain - is driving traffic to your website?
My company acquired another domain/website several year's ago. We want to see - for accounting purposes, how much traffic/revenue that site's REDIRECTS are driving to our website now. Is there any way to pull this information? I thought of comparing when the site was originally redirected to our traffic/revenue changes - but so much has changed from the acquisition that I wouldn't have faith in this value. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Disavow to all domains?

Is it problematic for Google when the site of a subdomain is on a different host than the site of the primary domain?
The Website on the subdomain runs on a different server (host) than the site on the main domain.

Best way to retain banklink values when moving site?
Hi all, I want to get some opinions on what the best practice is when transferring backlink values from an old site to a new one. On the old site, I currently have a product page and this particular product has multiple models all listed on the one singe page. However on the new site, every model of this particular product has its own page. These product model pages would have relatively similar content apart from several key details which differentiates the models. Firstly would you guys recommend this splitting of models of the same product to different pages? If so, my initial thought process is to 301 redirect the old product page to the new model page that is most popular, and adding rel canonical tags to the other model pages. Would you consider this best practice? Or are there better ways I can be doing this to retain backlink values without also getting penalised due to possible content duplication? Thanks! Redirecting one ecommerce site to another
Hi I'm planning to redirect one large ecommerce site to another. Here's how I was thinking of doing it: crawl both sites with Xenu and export urls to a CSV match urls where possible, redirecting pages from site A to relevant ones in site B all others will be redirected to site B's home page Now, I'm dealing with thousands of URLs here, so any way to make it easier would be great. Could this mean just redirecting all of Site A's pages to Site B's homepage would be worth it? Or does redirecting relevant pages where possible seem the best idea? Thanks guys!
