Why is my business website site dropping down the ranking

Hi, i have a business site which is dropping down the ratings and I would like your help in understanding why.
I know a business site is different from other sites such as news sites and blogs where the front page changes all the time.
I would like to know what is the best way to get google to visit the site on a regular basis, should i have a page that changes all the time or should i keep changing all the pages on the site.
One of the important pages was always number one in google and now we are number 11 http://www.clairehegarty.co.uk/virtual-gastric-band-with-hypnotherapy
any help and advice on how to combat dropping in the rankings would be a great help

On retail sites I always have a lot of articles about how to use the products, how to select them, how to maintain them. On a three-column homepage one of the columns is dedicated to "information". I have programs changing the content of that column a few times per day, rotating informative content into that space. There is also a space dedicated to new informative content.
Even if you are running a business site you can still have news about your products, about your industry and new informative information that you have created for your customers.

Like I say, about the Sunzu links I wouldn't worry about them just now. Keep a little note of them for future reference. Chances are that if Google has seen them and devalued them then they're dealt with, as far as any ranking is concerned.
By default, your homepage will nearly always be the most frequently crawled page on the site, so I wouldn't worry about featuring some of the news section on there - especially if you were going to replicate it and the content. Keep the freshness of the content on the health page.
Attaching a blog could be a way to get Google to crawl more often as well, but I wouldn't write one for that purpose. I'd write one to attract people to the site - either through long-tail keywords targeted through the blog post or by simply producing some stellar content that will get people to stand up and take notice.
Write for the user, not the search bot.

is, that should not be there. we were members of ecademy and then it got took over so all the links vanished and for some reason we have that link as you have seen.
we are going to join the new site once we understand how it works and then hopefully that link will vanish and will be replaced with the information about the site.
we have a news section here http://www.clairehegarty.co.uk/health-news/ should we try and put part of this on the home page or is it ok where it is.
we are going to re-write the important page of our site so hopefully this will make a huge difference and we were thinking of attaching a blog to the site but not sure if this would make a difference or not

First of all, you're right that having a page with dynamic content, or having a page that is constantly updating, may help your site to rank, as the page could be seen as "fresh" quite regularly.
However, not having a frequently updated page does not mean that your site will be crawled infrequently, nor does it mean that your page cannot rank.
If you have a sitemap submitted to Google/Bing, chances are that the search engine is going to revisit your site very often. You can see here that the last Google cache for that page is the 23rd of April, which isn't that long ago. This is a useful guide on how you can increase crawl rate.
With that being said, a far more influential factor towards rankings and why your site may be falling will be the links pointing to your page. Looking at the open site explorer report for that page, I can see a number of links that may have passed value before but would be in line for a link devaluation.
First of all, I can see a few forum links that contain your URL in them, such as this and this. Nothing wrong with having those links there, particularly if you were troubleshooting, but I've seen quite frequently that forum links will lose any 'worth' that they once had over time. That may be one reason for the drop.
There's a couple of links here and here that also look quite unnatural. I can see why Google would devalue these links - if you look at them from a human perspective, they look very artificial and have some very optimised anchor text. I'd keep an eye on links like these - I can't imagine Google would be thrilled seeing them in a link profile.
Finally, you also seem to have a number of regional microsites, such as this and this pointing to the page you provided. Now, the content on these sites is informational, if a bit sales-y, but the wording is only slightly different from site to site. There's not a lot of value in this content and as such it could be constituted as thin. Without the content offering much worth to a reader, it could also be a site that has had its link devalued - not penalised, just devalued, I hasten to add.
With all those links devalued, therefore not passing the strength that they once were, this might explain why you've fallen to #11.
There's no major concern here and it doesn't mean that you should remove these links - but if you want to regain your ranking I believe you would need to replace them with higher quality links. These can include links from articles or features on other articles that tap into the site's expertise. It could include creating content or a resource centre on the site itself that would encourage people to link to it or share it on social media with friends. There really are a number of ways to accrue higher value links - but what differentiates a higher value link from lower ones, at least in my eyes, is if the link is contextual to what you are offering on your site, it offers value to the reader and it can be seen and shared by an active audience.
This is based on my expertise and certainly does not constitute as fact, but that's just how I see it. Hope it helps you out a bit and if you have any more Q's just let me know.

Another client copies everything to blogspot. Is that what keeps her site from ranking? Or what? Appears to be a penalty somewhere but can't find it.
This client has a brand new site: http://www.susannoyesandersonpoems.com Her previous site was really bad for SEO, yet at one time she actually ranked on the first page for "LDS poems." She came to me because she lost rank. I checked things out and found some shoddy SEO work by a very popular Wordpress webhoste that I will leave unnamed. If you do a backlink analysis you can see the articles and backlinks they created. But there are so few, so I'm not sure if that was it, or it just was because of the fact that her site was so poorly optimized and Google made a change, and down she fell. Here's the only page she had on the LDS poems topic in her old site: https://web.archive.org/web/20130820161529/http://susannoyesandersonpoems.com/category/lds-poetry/ Even the links in the nav were bad as they were all images. And that ranked in position 2 I think she said. Even with her new site, she continues to decline. In fact she is nowhere to be found for main keywords making me think there is a penalty. To try and build rank for categories, I'm allowing google to index the category landing pages and had her write category descriptions that included keywords. We are also listing the categories on the left and linking to those category pages. Maybe those pages are watered down by the poem excerpts?? What should the combined domain rank of 2 sites?
We have just combined 2 sites by redirecting a site with a domain ranking of 35 to a site with a domain ranking of 27 (this is because the we want to use the address with a ranking of 27) After a week I now have 1 domain with a ranking of 26?? So my questions are; Should the ranking have increased already? What should I expect the ranking to increase to if at all? Is there something I could have done wrong when transferring? Thanks

Will sitemap generated in Yoast for a combined wordpress/magento site map entire site ?
Hi For an ecommerce site thats been developed via a combination of wordpress and magento and has yoast installed, will the sitemap (& other yoast features) map (& apply to) the entire site or just wordpress aspects ? In other words does one need to do anything else to have a full sitemap for a combined magento/wordpress site or will Yoast cover it all ? Site not ranking in Google but comes up #1 in Yahoo and Bing
Hi everyone, I've been working on SEO for this site for about 2 years and for some reason the site has just tanked in google. However it shows up #1 in yahoo and bing for the same search. http://www.nfsmn.com Phrase: "commercial foundation repair mn" If anyone can shed some light on the issue I would really appreciate it. They do have a sister-site: american-waterworks.com that may be causing issues as they link a lot of content to amww but not the other way around. Thanks Eric

Why am I ranking for this
In need of some second opinions here. I have a domain softboxsystems.co.uk which ranks for the keyword sofrigam. It is not meant to! Have posted previously on this but to cut long story short, the clients .com started to rank for this term and then they lost the contract to supply the services so got a legal request to stop ranking for it (it had been seoed so was ranking 100% on off page issues). The client is a UK company so they decided that they would block the .com from google and use the co.uk domain for a period of time instead while they worked on deranking the domain. The .com domain was therefore blocked from the index, the .co.uk homepage would not rank for anything then it turned out that they had placed a canonical tag link from the .co.uk to the blocked .com!!! On my suggestion this was removed and the homepage of the .co.uk appeared in google in a matter of a couple of days (other pages on the site were indexed but not the home). Now, somehow the co.uk domain homepage is ranking for the banned term. I have checked open link and there are not any links pointing to the domain with the anchor of sofigram, nor is the term mentioned onsite. I now have the client panicking on the phone to get the page out of google again asap before the competitors legal people get wind of it. I am still trying to deindex the .co.uk homepage in the short term. I have readded the canonical back to the .com as that worked at not getting that page indexed previously. The main issue I have is how on earth I am ranking for this term in the first place and more importantly how do I stop from ranking for this term! The only terms I can find as anchor text in the moz tools are the keywords I have been seoing for help hehe thanks

Separate websites for 2 products in the same business?
I have a business that sells art. There are 2 distinct types of art on offer. In many cases, someone who is interested in Type A may also be interested in Type B. Most search competitors that sell Type B, only sell Type B. As a result, they have a dedicated site for type B art. Would I be better off separating my business into 2 dedicated websites or keeping them combined? The site currently ranks reasonably well due to content, age and has some decent inbound links. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Peter.

Can leaving up old web pages no longer accessible through my site navigation hurt my rankings?
My firm recently overhauled a client's website. As part of the project, we gave the content a new structure, eliminating certain pages and creating several new ones. However, I just found out that some of the "old" pages (the ones we supposedly eliminated) still appear in the Google SERPs. Somehow, the client - who handled the coding - let these pages remain live even though they can no longer be accessed through the site navigation. This seems like something that could hurt the client's SEO rankings, but I want to make sure before contacting the client and suggesting they take down the old pages. Can anyone confirm my suspicion?
