Buying a Google News website, against Google Terms?
-
We are looking at buying a business that has a number of websites
Is it against buying a business that has a Google News website and continue to use the site?
Once the business is sold, would google remove the site from its News?
-
Hi John
There's no problem in buying this website and business from Google's perspective - it's part of the natural cycle of a business.
The only problem that might occur is if you made the new website simply a clone of your existing one, or if you set it up just to point links to your site and offered no value to a visitor.
If you kept everything pretty much the same, you should be fine and even the website's Google News inclusion would remain, provided that the site is still accessible to Google once you take it over.

Google treats pages from main website and sub folder/sub directory differently?
Hi all, We have a sub directory like website.com/help/. This is a differently hosted and served content. So I wonder how Google treats pages from this sub directory. Will the same priority will be given for these pages compared to main website pages? Will there be any ranking difference when same page is from main website or sub directory. I mean like below page. Page from main website: www.website.com/page1/ Page from sub-directory: www.website.com/help/page1/ So which page will have more importance in search results?

Does including your site in Google News (and Google) Alerts helps with SEO?
Based on the following article http://homebusiness.about.com/od/yourbusinesswebsite/a/google-alerts.htm in order to check if you are included you need to run site:domain.com and click the news search tab. If you are not there then... I ran the test on MOZ and got no results which surprised me. Next step according to :https://support.google.com/news/publisher/answer/40787?hl=en#ts=3179198 is to submit your site for inclusion. Should I? Will it help? P.S.

Does having all client websites on same server/same Google Analytics red flag Google?
If you have several clients, and they are all on the same server, and also under ONE Google Analytics account, will that negatively impact with Google? They all have different content and addresses, some have the same template, but with different images.

Getting Google Authorship to Work
Hi I set up authorship about 10 days ago at the suggestion of this great forum but haven't seen anything happen yet. Could someone take a quick look and check I've done it right? You can see a typical post here: http://www.touristisrael.com/neve-tzedek-tel-aviv/354/ Thanks!
