Will google put logo's in as author snippets?

Are they smart enough to tell it is not a mug shot and then not show it? Has anyone ever seen a logo as a snippet? What are some of the factors to with whether they show them or not?

You would know you are flagged. When Google would send you actually a message to whatever account is linked to Google + account. They would also take down Google plus account.
So you would be able to find out if there was anything wrong with it right away. The key to this is making the change to your real photograph that you have in this right away.

Looking at it I have only ever seen the profile pics displayed when the face takes up more than half of the image. Guess I will have to get a nice pic taken

We found out the hard way... when trying to access the public profile it read a message that our account was suspended bue to the guideline infringement .. then it gave us the option to dispute which seemed took forever, so I tried to escalate the problem with our AdWords Account Manager as we wanted to use Google + extension...
I believe their guidelines are pretty explicit and they must run some face recognition software.
I would stick with your picture as you have it, and if company branding is important to you maybe hold a sign or something... although I see you must work for AdServe??? I can tell by the background.

Thanks, how would I know if it is flagged? I do not have any snippets showing up yet but I have been using my logo in my personal profile for a few months, we only added the rel"author" a few days ago
Also I am now using the same profile pic as I have here

The answer is No... your account will get flagged and it will end up being a nightmare getting it back up live... We run into that problem when trying to create a business profile, accidentally added the logo to the 'human' + page and it took over 6 weeks to get it back to work.

What Dan said is right. Well it is still possibly have to actually put your logo as an author you are supposed to be a human being instead of corporation. Therefore there's really no reason why you should not look like you do.
I was just going by Google's guidelines instead of trying to trick them as they have a knack for coming back inviting you if you ever try to go outside their terms of service.

I think when first launched some were getting away with it and possibly still now, although i wouldn't reccommend trying since is definately misleading and not what authorships about. It doesnt make sense for an author to have a logo since an author is a person and the image should therefore be the persons picture and nothing else

Google's mobile-friendly update. How significant is the impact for us?
Hi guys. Recently I got an email from Webmaster-tools saying our site is poorly optimised for mobile devices, and that it’s going to heavily affect rankings from April 21st. I’m worried to say the least. We literary cannot afford a hit on traffic at the moment 😞 We rank well for niche terms like ‘customised diary’ and ‘personalised diary’. So question... Because we rank well for these very specific searches will we still take a hit on rankings after the update? Won’t our high relevancy for those search terms be enough to keep us high in the results? Also, do you know if this change is specific to the users device? E.g) Someone on a mobile device will get mobile-friendly results, whilst users on a laptop will get different results altogether? Source? Google says having an author photo increases CTR by 15% on average.
I was listening to an interview with Rand Fishkin on the Eventual Millionaire: http://eventualmillionaire.com/rand-fishkin/ Rand said that Google says that having an author photo increases click through rate by 15% on average. I am trying to find the original source of this information. Has anyone know the source of this stat?

Main page deindexed by google.
3 days ago our main page('/') has stopped appear in google results. Rest of pages works fine. Even our main page from canadian version of site with similar content works fine. Some times canadian page appears for key word where we had our com version before. But I think this is just result of disappearing com version. Any suggestion were to look? Messages box in google webmastertools is empty. Could this be the question too long page title? PS: Does any way exist to check if we were punished by Google and reason of this? For Bing and Yahoo everything works fine. PPS: We have just found that "cache:our_site.com" and "info:our_site.com" returns in google our_site.ca. So this should be reason of problem. So now we are looking how to fix this.

Why is our site dropping in Domain Authority
Hi all, I have a question. I have been working SEO on our site www.betxpert.com for the last 4-6 weeks and I have been looking forward to seeing the new DA and PA numbers. However today, our DA is now 30...where it was 31 or 33 a couple of days ago. How come the decrease? I have only improved the site i should say... Site URL's
We are redeveloping our website, and have the option to amend URLs (with 301 redirects from old URL to new), so my question is: Would 'golfsite.com/golf-clubs' achieve superior rankings than 'golfsite.com/clubs' for the search term 'golf clubs' if all other factors were the same? Should the URL reflect the intended search term wherever possible?
