just got a quote and the company said that they would charge for backing up the site, now i have put the details below but not sure how much i would be charged per month. the site would be www.in2town.co.uk and another 20 sites would go onto the dedicated server. can anyone tell me on average what i maybe charged before i agree to this deal
In regards to backup - without knowing how much data needs to be backed up an easy starting point is look at a per GB of backup model and this will be charged at: £0.50 per GB of data backup per month. This is run on a 7 day cycle (including full system state and daily incrementals) and UKFast will take care of the restoration for you.

I can vouch for www.layershift.com UK based server, dedicated, managed vps etc, and support that is fast and very helpful. I personal use them on their managed vps service and cannot recall any down time other than occasional system restarts for updates.

White listing a site
A new clients site is blocked by a lot of Firewalls. And I can't work out why, the content is family friendly they sell nursery equipment. Redirection loop. Best way to resolve...
Hi Guys Got a warning on a crawl today "Your page is redirecting to a page that is redirecting to a page that is redirecting to a page... and so on." In GWMT it is set to www. and also back-end in my server. I also have an SSL deployed and in my htaccess the rule is added to ensure all pages got to SSL. Any of you guys have advice regarding the best route to go or should I "IGNORE" this warning as all other aspects are clocking 95%+? Thanks in advance Daren

Best use of an old domain?
I've discovered that my clients website used to have another domain name, which they still own but don't use. It's doing OK considering its not been used for a few years - almost 6,000 backlinks showing on Majestic. So what's the best way of using this for SEO? I'm presuming some kind of redirecting? A simple redirect of everything on the domain to the new domain index page? Or going trough all the old pages and redirecting them one by one?

How can I provide titles and descriptive text for our list of USPs on the same page optimized both for usability and SEO
I am rebuilding our website together with an agency and I am stuck with the following problem: We have a page which will provide the visitor with a quick and convincing impression why he should chose our enterprise. On this page we want to show our USPs (Unique Selling Points) each with a title and a short description. Now my preferred way of presenting those USPs would be of a list of the titles (which permits to see all USPs without having to read a lot of text) where each title can be clicked to expand the description (in case you want to know more about this specific USP) and if you click on another title the previously clicked title description will collapse and the new description expand and so on (similar to this page: http://www.berlin-city-immobilien.de/38.html - I'm talking about the list in the middle of the page starting with the headline "Dabei profitieren Sie von folgenden Vorteilen"). Since I also want to use these descriptions as on page SEO-texts I checked whether Google might not index or at least value "click to expand content" less than plain text in the body of the page and I stumbled over this article: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-hidden-tab-content-seo-19489.html. According to this article Google will definitely discount the descriptions on my page. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem? Either by suggesting a different way to show titles and descriptions on the page or maybe by suggesting a workaround so Google will not treat the descriptions as "click to expand text". Thank you already in advance for your input.

Off-site company blog linking to company site or blog incorporated into the company site?
Kind of a SEO newbie, so be gentle. I'm a beginner content strategist at a small design firm. Currently, I'm working with a client on a website redesign. Their current website is a single page dud with a page authority of 5. The client has a word press blog with a solid URL name, a domain authority of 100 and page authority of 30. My question is this: would it be better for my client from an SEO perspective to: Re-skin their existing blog and link to the new company website with it, hopefully passing on some of its "Google Juice,"or... Create a new blog on their new website (and maybe do a 301 redirect from the old blog)? Or are there better options that I'm not thinking of? Thanks for whatever help you can give a newbie. I just want to take good care of my client.

Sharing/hosting of content questions...
I just wanted to get opinion on some of the fundamentals and semantics of optimisation and content generation/distribution - your thoughts and opinions are welcome. OK, for example, lets assume (for illustration purposes) that I have a site - www.examplegolfer.com aimed at golfers with golf related content. The keywords I would like to optimise for are: golf balls golf tees lowering your golf handicap drive a golf ball further Now, I'm going to be creating informative, useful content (infographics, articles, how to guides, video demonstrations etc) centred around these topics/keywords, which hopefully our audience/prospects will find useful and bookmark, share and monition our site/brand on the web, increasing (over time) our position of these terms/keywords in the SERP's. Now, once I've researched and created my content piece, where should I place it? Let's assume it's an infographic - should this be hosted on an infographic sharing site (such as Visually) or on my site, or both? If it's hosted or embedded on my site, should this be in a blog or on the page I'm optimising for (and I've generated my keyword around)? For example, if my infographic is around golf balls, should this be embedded on the page www.examplegolfer.com/golf-balls (the page I'm trying to optimise) and if so, and it's also placed elsewhere around the internet (i.e on Visually for example), this could technically be seen as duplicated content as the infographic is on my site and on Visually (for example)? How does everyone else share/distribute/host their created content in various locations whilst avoiding the duplicated content issue? Or have I missed something? Also, how important is it to include my keyword (golf balls) in the pieces' title or anchor text? Or indeed within the piece itself? One final question - should the content by authoured/shared as the brand/company or an individual (spokesperson if you like) on behalf of the company (i.e. John Smith)? I'm all for creating great, interesting, useful content for my audience, however I want to ensure we're getting the most out of it as researching influencers, researching the piece and creating it and distributing it isn't a quick or easy job (as we all know!).
