Global Blogs vs Regionalised blogs

Im in the process of launching a blog. The blog will be for global audience. If I wanted to target a more specific region in the future example UK would it be advisable to launch a separate blog for the UK market or how could I regionalise the posts if I kept blogging on the Global blog.

Yes launching it globally but want to regionalise in the future. It is a company website with a blog section. www.example.com/blog.

So you are launching it globally, but might want to have region specific ones in the future? Is this just a blog? So the homepage will be posts?

Blog migration

Hi We have 4 websites - 1 for company and 3 for each products. Currently all our blog posts are located on the company website company.com/blog. We will be separating out the blog so that product blogs will be in each product website. i.e. from company.com/blog to: company.com/blog product1.com/blog product2.com/blog product3.com/blog This is with the aim of helping SEO for each of the product websites; and improving user experience so users can easily navigate around the product pages if they are reading a blog post on the product. So now we have to consider migration. We will migrate/copy over all blog posts to each of the relevant product websites, but should we: A. keep the old blog posts on company.com/blog and do a rel=canonical B. only show blog preview on company.com/blog which will link to the new product.com/blog (and using 301 redirect) C. 301 redirect all blog posts from company.com/blog altogether Any suggestions on which of the above options to take would be greatly appreciated in terms of SEO and other considerations

Using different sections from all over your site to compile a blog post, bad idea or ok to do?

I have a large site that sells various products, I have been on a kick creating new content relating to the many aspects of upkeep with these products after purchase, I wanted to create a blog post combining all the info for the group of products, but will be reusing some of the FAQs and even tips, since I'm more or less relocating the info. Since this blog post is using many different sources on our site, using a rel=canonical isn't possible. Is there anything I should watch out for, Will rewording / phrasing here and there be enough or should I steer clear of this as a whole?

Staggered Blog Posting

Hi, My client has recently launched a new site - while the site was under development (A period of around 6 months) they build up a large amount of posts for their new blog. I have advised them against uploading all the posts in one go (ie from 0 to 100 in one day), as I'm sure this would be viewed with suspension by the search engines. My question is (and I'm not looking for a magic number here), what would be the best way to publish these blog posts, and what possible penalties could be triggered if we do it incorrectly. I do believe the content is unique and unpublished elsewhere. My suggestion to my client was to create a content calendar and set dates on which the various posts should be published. Further I suggested it is stagged or random, i.e. not every 2nd day - but vary it - so for example, 2 a day then a break for a day or two then one post, then the next day another 2 etc. Any thoughts from the Moz Community? Duplicate Text on Blog & Internal News Page

I have two places I post news for our company. Our blog - typically more informal posts
mycompany.wordpress.com & Our news page - typically more newsworthy than the blog
mycompany.com/news My question is, It is okay to just copy the exact text from my wordpress blog and paste to my news area of my site and vice versa? Does this hurt ranking potential for either page?

How to use articles effectively in a blog.

I wanted to start a blog so I could get some longer tail search term results. I am a knowledge expert in my area but am very busy as an entrepreneur so I had been putting it off for some time. It occurred to me that I might be able to outsource the article writing and I have started doing that. I have either come up with or have approved the topics. I am a very critical editor and demand high quality writing. The articles are all original. We are proofreading everything to make sure the articles are of high quality and inform readers about the subject. I plan to only put external links in the articles that link out to the sources for the information that was used to write the articles. We are also using pictures info graphics and video where possible. I plan to close the comments because, while we have had a website for some time and get some visitors (2500 per month) we are new to blogging and do not have a following that would post comments. My questions is this.......will these be viewed negatively by Google? I think this will be good content but I don't want to do anything to negatively affect us.

Blog for SEO: embedded in the site or separate

Hello, For both ecommerce and sites that sell services, I've seen a lot of people recommending a blog for SEO. Should this blog be inside or separate from the main website for the most results? I can see how adding one to a site would create more unique content and an opportunity for link bait, but perhaps there is a reason to have a blog separate from the main site Thank you.

Blog Redirect

We have a blog hosted directly on WordPress with a PR of 3. At this point we are moving this blog to our server and incorporating it into our website. I wanted to ask the experts how to go about moving this blog without loosing Page Rank. Is it possible to do a 301 redirect from WP itself? Is there anything that I can do to preserve ranking? How often should I write a blog post?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I've searched for it in the Q&A Forum and couldn't find any relevant answer. I was thinking that a weekly post would suffice for my blog because the audience isn't one which would be checking frequently + there aren't very many new developments in the industry I'm in that would necessitate more than that. However, I was told that if I can't blog consistently 2-3 times per week, I really shouldn't start a blog, as it would need that much posting. Thoughts on this?
