None branded keyword Sitelink?
-
Hi Friends
I have sitelink when people search my brand. Can I have another sitelink for none branded keyword that my site is more than 1 year top of google position?
-
Dear Thomas and Robert
Thanks for your great information
-
Hi Robert,
Thank you for telling me that. I had not realized that was what was being asked.
I completely agree with you as far as I know the only way you can change a site link is to remove it from Google's SERPs as shown in the photos attached in your answer below.
Tadbir,
Please accept my apology I missed the boat on that one. However Robert is 100% correct I am thankful he was able to answer your question.
All the best,
Thomas

Thomas, I think he is talking about the actual sitelink, not the Title Tag. He is wondering if he will get one for the non branded term since he has had it there for a year. And, the answer is it is up to Google.
Best and I agree re the Title Tag.

Tadbir,
With sitelinks, you get those because Google sees traffic to these particular pages or in some other way finds them relevant to the search. They also show when your site is in a non branded search on a SERP, but sometimes slightly different. (See the screenshots attached). You can ask Google to take a sitelink down in GWMT and they will but only for 30 days and you must ask again. Unfortunately, you cannot ask them to put a sitelink up for you.
I apologize that the screenshots are heavily redacted but I do not wish to show any info about the brand or firm in them. In the first, you see four sitelinks and of them the title only had the brand name in one. All the titles are pulled from the sitepage and are the Title Tag and H1 in this instance.
On the second, notice that the sitelinks are only the link with no snippet and are in a row as opposed to two on top of two. The first is from a search on the brand, the second was on a Geolocation + non branded KW. In both they are receiving sitelinks.
I hope this helps you out.
Best,
Robert

hi,
if you're site is already ranking at the top of Google for a year I would be careful about playing with the title tag to that.
However yes of course you can have one link that is dedicated simply to a brand name. Example.com/brand-name
title tag = brand name
you may also dedicate another page with a different URL and different content on it to any non branded term you wish.
title tag equals = nonbranded
if you are talking about using your home page for both know that is not possible you could do a combination. Or pick one or the other.
title tag = brand name
title tag = Not brand-name
or you could optimize it to carry both.
title tag non branded term - brand name
whichever you place first will have more power in Google meaning if you put your brand name before your non-branded term you will definitely rank stronger for your brand name however for most companies this is not an issue ranking for your brand name unless it is very common. If it is a common term I would place it first if it's not I would place it second.
I hope I've been of help,
Thomas

My keywords aren't performing for my Umbraco site
A client of mine has just redesigned their site which was pretty small (homepage, about us page and contact us page) and now it includes homepage, about us page, 3 services pages, 5 blog posts and a contact us page. their domain authority is 5, so that gives you an idea of their size. We updated their key pages with keyword optimised content and added the keyword to their meta title and meta description. they're in the process of adding the alt tags and also they need to enable meta tags for the blog posts. Everything is quite in the process at the moment and their organic traffic is low. But I believe that some of the keywords should start moving places for the pages that have been optimised and they haven't. Is there any reason for this? I believe the services pages which have meta tags should have started ranking at least in very low position for the selected keywords. Is there something I'm missing? Thank you!

Favourite tool for unlinked brand mentions?
Hey Guys, There seems to be multiple tools on the market for unlinked brand mentions for link building e.g. Ahrefs, Moz, etc. Which one is your favourite? Cheers.

Keywords and keyword traffic
Hi I am struggling to know what keywords i should be targeting and how the website should be best optimised for said keywords. The website offers bespoke service in the lake district UK a popular tourist destination, The business operates within say a 30 km riadus of the area. So target vistors to the website would specifically be looking for services in the lake district. The trouble is for many targeted keywords for the area are quite low or no data shown. For example: tipi camping lake district, tipi hire lake district, Glamping lake district However nationally keywords for the service have a lot higher traffic i.e. tipi hire or tipi camping, glamping what keywords should be my target? and should I targeting my website for? I don't want to target customers looking for these services outside of the lake district and also by targeting keywords without the term lake district means my competition is greater as i'm competing with the whole of the Uk for serivces It can't provide. please advise thanks

Keyword not ranking but keyword within a phrase is?
Hi Guys, Google is not indexing the keyword ‘e liquid’ for www.cloudstix.com/e-liquid and it's driving me insane. I cannot understand why, can anyone please shed any light! -On page we have used variations e liquid, e-liquid, eliquid. -The e-liquid product pages are canonicaled to www.cloudstix.com/e-liquid. -3 other pages regarding e liquid were 301 redirected to the page passing good authority. I did this as I believed these pages conflicted as they seemed to target e-liquid. -‘e-liquid’ is being used as an anchor throughout the website pointing to www.cloudstix.com/e-liquid. -The ‘e liquid’ page has generally good authority PA 22, DA26. -The website has good anchor text linking to the site, all relative and e liquid related, along with brand links. Currently the keyword ‘e liquid’ brings up the home page www.cloudstix.com ranked 100+. What’s strange is the other terms relating to 'e liquid' bring up www.cloudstix.com/e-liquid for example: ‘e liquid uk’ ‘the best e liquid’ and ‘e liquid cloudstix’. Any ideas on what the problem may be. Would appreciate any advice on this. Thanks guys! Liam

Sudden rankings drop for our most profitable keyword?
Hi, I was hoping you could help me with a troubling issue that has come up this week. We have consistently ranked in the top 3 for the keyword "grey goose glasses" for the last 12 months. We received 74 visits from this keyword from Dec 3 to Jan 3. For some reason on Jan 4th we dropped from the top 3 to somewhere around 40-70 and receive almost no traffic from this keyword an longer. The page that was ranking was http://thebottlemill.com/tbm/grey-goose-drinking-glass.html I have since changes a the Page title and URL with a 301 redirect and the H1 tag to be a better match but this was just done yesterday. We havent seemed to be effected like this on other keywords. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Why would sitelinks disappear
For over the past month my site has received sitelinks from Google and they have been really helping out. All of a sudden this morning they are gone. We 301'ed and redirected (WBT) another one of our other sites to this one on monday. Could it be Google is just trying to figure out what we are doing? Has anyone else seen sitelinks come and go on their site without any other redirects? I am assuming it is because of my sites combining but wanted to hear if anyone else saw sitelinks come and go on their own. Thanks
