What's the best way to keep track of keyword rankings
-
Here's the deal. I keep track of my keyword rankings with the help of Rank Tracker from seopowersuite.com for the most part. I ran it on a daily basis and my keyword was not in top 100 for a few months. Moz.com panel shows pretty much the same (not in top 50) for the same months. That said, if I check that keyword ranking in my Google Webmaster Tools (avg. position) it says that its position (ranking?) was on average: 49, 7, 7, 8 (for the last four months). So, I'm not sure how it's even possible? How come Rank Tracker and Moz don't see any rankings and Google gives me sorta decent avg. positions at the same time. I assume that avg. postion means that same as avg. ranking, right? I'm not sure what I'm missing here.

Vince,
We also use Serpbook, which is a great tool. We also leverage the Moz Ranking area in Moz Analytics to track keywords. There are a lot of tools out there and Rank Tracker is something we are looking into. Do you recommend that in your experiences? Would love to know your thoughts on that software overall if you use the whole Suite of their products.
Cheers! - Patrick

Vince,
Lets remember that Moz and Google are two completely different and independent company's. They have different spiders programed to do different things. One company could not "take" or "scrape" the others data. A good example is the fight that ensued between Google and another well known search engine that was allegedly "scraping" Google's data, and presenting the data formatted differently as their own. You should NOT expect Moz's data to exactly reflect what's going on at Google. Moz is a fabulous tool, to use as reference to the changes you make to your website. They come to your web project on an advertised interval, and provide reference data for the changes you have made.
Have you tried this area of MOZ? http://pro.moz.com/campaigns/account number/rankings
Substitute "account number" above with your pro account number. The results page shows your keyword results. Next to each keyword there are two icons. The Icon that looks like an EKG symbol will take you to a report that does exactly what you want. Shows your page ranking relative to other websites. You get 50 free extra keyword checks per week.

I have a new website and would like to use the keywords my competitors are using and was wondering the best way to take a look using Moz Pro?
The website is www.fapwrap.com - it's a new adult wall decals website. [editor's note: may not be safe for some workplaces] The wall decals we have are obviously a bit more niche than the bigger competitors, but I want to get into the first page to see how it helps us. I'm slowly taking over some kws like "xbox wraps" and "ps4 wraps" but those have low search volume and I feel like "wall decals" will help - though it's highly competitive. Suggestions? I just kinda want to plug in my competition and pick from their list of existing kws..... Ha.

My home page has an "A" rank in Moz and not ranking in Google.
My home page recently dropped from page one in Google to not being ranked for my top keyword. The page has an "A" ranking in MOZ for the keyword. Is there a way to find out the cause. I did have what looked like a duplicate page for a while 3 months ago when a domain was forwarding to my home page incorrectly. Appeared with second domain name instead of primary. Our business has been 95% through internet leads so quite an issue. Is there anyway to find out what is going on.

On Page URL's not updating?
I recently moved my site to Shopify which completely changed the URL structure. I went to my old pages and created permanent 301 redirects to my new pages on shopify. For some reason, the On Page reports are not picking up on one of the new pages. This is effecting my grading. Just wondering why this is happening & whether this may be an indication of a larger problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Why don't Google+ URL's work in OSE?
Is there any reason why Google+ URLs does not work in OSE? Is it just that it is a secure URL or is there something bigger there? Why? Be cool to determine every website the person has been published on; especially if it is rel="author" verified. Jeff

Keyword Difficulty Tool
Is there a way to use KDT and include my own URL in the process so that I can see (and show my client) how things look competitively across all these nice dimensions? All is well if my client's site is in the top 10 - but if it isn't, how can I get the same set of metrics on a specific URL as it pertains to a specific keyword? Do I somehow to remember it used to do this? Or am I imagining things? I can't seem to get it to work this way. Thanks,

Ranking
Why is comunicatedepresa.net ranking better than comunicatedepresa.ro for the term "comunicate de presa" Absolutely ALL the factors (links, domains linking, authority, onpage etc) seem to say that comunicatedepresa.ro should have ranked better.
