I have a clients whos data shows that they have very high visitor traffic between 1 AM & 5AM. Prevoisly I have been advised on this forum to search out and filter out bot traffic but i can find anything
But i just want to know where can i spot theses obscure things described here:
http://www.lunametrics.com/blog/2013/09/05/filter-bots-google-analytics/#sr=g&m=o&cp=or&ct=-tmc&st=%28opu%20qspwjefe%29&ts=1380528080 in google analytics. Ive followed stacks of tutorials and all i find out is i have Browser internet explorer behing the busiest traffic at 2AMPerhaps the time report is jinxed, but illustrated here is whats triggered the concern

I don't think GA counts bingbot or other bots, not sure what that article is talking about.
could it be that there is a timezone problem here, and that the hits are not really in the early hours. or maybe from another country?

Any idea why this page is an absolute magnet for bots?
This page on our client's website seems to be an absolute magnet for bots, and it's skewing our Google Analytics stats: https://cbisonline.com/us/catholic-socially-responsible-esg-investing/proxy-voting/ We already filter out lots of bots in GA, primarily through a segment we created several years ago and continue to build upon, but plenty of spam traffic still manages to slip through – mostly to the page above. Last quarter, almost all of it came from two random cities in Europe, so we're going to filter out traffic from those places. (At least for now – not an ideal solution, I know.) But I'm really wondering what drives so many bots to that page in particular. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Losing referrer data on http link that redirects to an https site when on an https site. Is this typical or is something else going on here?
I am trying to resolve a referral data issue. Our client noticed that their referrals from one of their sites to another had dropped to almost nothing from being their top referrer. The referring site SiteA which is an HTTPs site, held a link to SiteB, which is also an HTTPs site, so there should be no loss, however the link to SiteB on SiteA had the HTTP protocol. When we changed the link to the HTTPs protocol, the referrals started flowing in. Is this typical? If the 301 redirect is properly in place for SiteB, why would we lose the referral data?

What the blog is going on?
A new client has the following domains: www.domain.com (on Shopify) www.blogdomain.com (on Squarespace) It seems BOTH domains are using the same Google Analytics account ID. But they are essentially two different websites (as opposed to the blog being a subdomain or subfolder). I'm struggling to see what value this blog structure is adding to the ecommerce site. Should these be set up as cross-domain tracking?

Why Is My Traffic Going Up But My Alexa Rating Getting Worse?
I am curious why my Alexa rating has been getting worse over the last few weeks. My organic traffic is up, direct visits and social networking visits are up but my Alexa has been getting worse and worse. Is anyone having the same problem? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks.

Does GWT "Fetch as Google Bot" feature affect crawl rate?
Hello Mozians, I have noticed many people saying using GWT fetch as GoogleBot can affect your crawl rate in future, if used regularly. Though, i am not very sure if this is true or just another stale SEO myth. As currently GWT provides a limit of 500 URLs to fetch every month. I hope my doubts will be cleared by the Moz community experts. Thanks!

How do I keep the SEOmoz bot from showing up in my Google Analytics?
I noticed today that we had a huge spike in visits on December 9th of this month. We are talking like 13,000 more visits. The network the visits were from was psinet inc. Any suggestions on how to keep these bots from registering in my Google Analytics? Is there an ip address I can exclude?

Why did my site go from 1,000 Impressions to 0 impressions over the past couple days
so we have been doing a lot of reconstruction our website the past couple days with our navigation and moving stuff around. Now bare with me because i am a noob to SEO and i am still learning. But we went from a steady 800-1000 impressions everyday to a 0 since the first. you can check out our site here: www.hidguy.net Not sure if its because we are moving stuff around or what. But we can notice that our conversion rate has dropped and we have had traffic but no conversions and no orders. Is what we are doing bad or is this normal?

Google Bot blocked
Google says that they are blocked from crawling my site. I have tried to get my web masters to look into this and they say the site apears fine. However, my SERP results have been falling and the errors are increasing. http://www.RealEstateMarketLeaders.com https://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2409441 I have sent an e mail into Google asking for help and I have been looking into every possible channel to find a solution for this problem. The site does have a 301 re direct pointing in from my old site http:///www.TriCitiesRealEstateAgent.com into my new site http://www.RealEstateMarketLeaders.com. However, I am not sure if that is the problem or if something else happend to make me see such a huge drop in SERP results.
