2 canonical links on 1 page, 1 for print version
-
Our developer has added a 2nd canonoical link for the "print" version of our page. I read on another post that this appears to be not be the correct way to do this. Is there a better way ? Here is an example of the code:
-
I'm pretty sure if you just chop off the last tag, , you are going to be perfectly fine.
There should be one canonical tag and it should point to the URL of the original document or the version that you want search engines to view as the main document.
-
If we look at this a different way, the style sheet may make it look different but the content is the same, so you don't really need two of the same content indexed. This only affects the robots so a user wouldn't see a difference and could still access the printer friendly version, presumably you would have a link to the printer version on the original and so that's why its good for the original.
So to clarify - If you have the same content across multiple pages you want to select one page as the original and link back to that page via the tag in all of the duplicates.
I hope that helps clear it up for you.

I guess this is confusing because there is one page (the recipe) and that page just gets rendered with a different style sheet if a user wants to print it out, but this DOES create a different URL.
So you are saying, as long as we put this on the recipe page:
That when the style sheet renders that page as :
http://xxx.xxxxxx.com/recipes/**print/**winter-creme-fraiche-baked-potato-soup
it will include the canonical link back to the recipe page? -
Hello,
you only need one tag pointing towards to main page so on all duplicates you would have the following (the same) tag
assuming http://xxx.xxxxxx.com/recipes/winter-creme-fraiche-baked-potato-soup is the original
What the tag does is tell Google "this is a duplicate but you can find the original here" Google will then ignore that page (not rank) it.
Hope that helps and its clear. More info can be found here - https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139394?hl=en

Campaign link not working?
I imagine most of the initial problems with the domain migration to moz.com will be cleaned up rather quickly. I did however notice right away my links to my campaigns from the dashboard were not working. I then click the campaigns tab up top and my campaign links worked from there. Just thought I'd share real quick incase anyone else is having the same issue.

Open Site Explorer is showing "No Data" for my page titles under the "Top Pages" Tab
This is for my site: www.kibin.com/ Does this mean there is something wrong with how we're titling our pages? We're working on our on-page SEO, titles, meta descriptions this week and getting them up to snuff. I don't understand what is going on here or if it's something to be worried about. Thanks!

To Many Links on site
I've had an issue with to many links on the site. My drop down menu, secondary footer and footer. The report told me that I had 253 links on each page. I then programmed my secondary footer to dynamic and ran a crawl and my links reduced accordingly to 201. Then turned the footer into dynamic and ran a crawl with my links increasing to 1500. This also happened between each phase but en went away. Oddly enough, my domain authority increased as well as other factors in the crawl report. This too many links thing is driving me crazy. Please provide some guidance.

How Does On Page Analysis work
Hi guys, I just need to run something past you. when I look at my on page analysis I have 5 key terms I am focusing on. For instance one of them is "computer backup". According to the report the current grade is 'F' when looking at site page "/" which I assume is the home page.

When I do a lookup on other pages of the site it gets a ranking of A. Which is good. But since the hompage ranking went from A to F my rankings have definitely been affect. So i guess my questions are: does "/" mean the hompage, or all pages overall. What should I really be looking at here. I am assuming that you select certain pages to target certain key words. Should i be focusing like this, or more to the "/". Thanks Guys hoping to clear this one up.0
