Shell we provide dofollow outbound links from our website?
-
Hello,
I am little confused about providing dofollow links from our website. We have a social shopping website where users can create catalog of their favorite products by bookmarking them from other websites, so our website might have thousands of outbound links.
Now the confusion is whether we should have these links "nofollow" or "dofollow"? As per my understanding dofollow links will pass juice to other websites but on the other hand it might benefit us as well, sellers might come and bookmark their products for getting dofollow links.
I read somewhere that if we have quality outbound links around a topic, google treats us as hub for that topic. But I am not clear if we will get this advantage only when these links are dofollow?
Please help.

And once your site gets out there as a place with followed links, you'll have more spam issues to deal with than you'll want.

A 'hub' isn't categorised based on if it offers a nofollow or dofollow link. As you have already said, you are considering dofollow for potentially thousands of outbound links as you think others might like it.
I can see no good argument that you should consider or implement this.

Hello Andy,
Thanks for quick response.
Lets assume that I dont want to provide dofollow link to get more people on my website. What about being considered as a hub? Will I be considered as hub if I provide dofollw links only?
Thanks

Hi,
Based on what you say, there is no way I could suggest that you do this. I have no doubt that this would come back and bite you hard. Google would look at why you are providing dofollow links (to get more people to the site) and probably penalise you.
You can be just as useful a service without having to provide dofollow links in this manner.

What To Do With Too Many Links?
We have four pages that have over 100 links (danger, danger from what I gather), but they're not spammy footer links. They are FAQ videos for our four main areas of practice. Does that make a difference? If not, should I just take half the questions on each page and make four additional pages? That strikes me as a worse UX, but I don't want to get penalized either. Thanks, Ruben

For those of you that used LINK DETOX.
Did you go ahead and remove all the TOXIC and HIGH RISK links? Just the toxic? Were you successful with the tool?

Linking across categories
On a website when I link across in the same category should all the categories all pear on each page. Let's say I have 6 categories and 6 pages should I have the 6 links on all the pages ( such as A, B, C, D, E, on page 1 ( let's imagine this page is page F ), then on page A have link B, C D, E, F and so on for the 6 pages ( meaning all the links appear on all the pages across the category ) or should i just have let's say 3 links on page 1 ( link A, B, C ) , then link ( D, E, F ) on page 2, then A, E, F on page 3, link B, C F on page 4 and so on... ( which means that i vary the links that appear and that it is naturally ( at least I think ) going to boost the link that appears the most of the 6 pages ? I hope this is not too confusing, Thank you,

Redirecting multiple websites to a single website
I've been trying to run several truck accessory affiliate websites for a quite a while now. I've recently decided to combine all of my affiliate websites into a single community website. This way I'll be able to focus all my energy and link building into a single place and build up a single brand. My question is, how many websites do I try to redirect to the new website at a time? Do I need to spread this out? Or is it ok if I move all of my content and websites at a single time? I have around 30 websites that I could move to this new domain. Thanks! Andy
