When you add an intelligence custom alert does it look at the history and backdate issues?

I've added a few custom alerts, even basic ones like my homepage gets 5 views, create an alert. I either need to wait a day or something is going wrong.

Thanks very much, it's a shame it doesn't back date. I was worried at first that it wasn't working but the day after setting up it, analytics reported the previous day's errors.

Hi Gary

As far as I'm aware it will only apply to future stats and not backdate/query past stats. I'm not sure if this is something that Google is going to implement in the future - but I do think it would be a nice feature if they did

Whats (Other) traffic in Google Analytics?

When I look through all our clients, a few are receiving the majority of their traffic from (other). [ Acquisition > Channels > (Other) ]. The only option in (other) is "website" or "offline", whatever that may be. And even weirder, the avg session duration is 0:00. Any idea what this may be?

Does referral exclusions remove the ecommerce value from Google Analytics?

Quick question on Referral exclusions. We have a client that just rebuilt their Magento website, referral data from Paypal was never an issue, the site properly attributed to source. New web devs finished the site and all purchases through Google Analytics from PayPal Is now showing as referral traffic. Doing research on the issue the suggestion was to create a referral exclusion in GA from PayPal. My question on that, will the ecommerce value default to the previous referral or will it delete the e-commerce value completely from what is gathered?

No Search Data in Google Search Console (Search Analytics)

Wondering if anyone has experienced 0 data in their Google Search Console (Search Analytics) and found possible solutions to retrieve data? We have a few clients who, prior to the update to Google Search Console, were getting data regularly in terms of the Search Queries report, but ever since the update to Google Search Console, they are no longer receiving data. As an FYI, both the www and non-www versions of the website are verified in Search Console and the XML Sitemaps and Robots.txt files are clean, tested and working fine. Any insights or experience of sites showing 0 data in Search Analytics? Any possible solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to use Google Tag Manager to pass a user’s text input into a form field to Google analytics?

Hey Everyone, I finally figured out how to use auto event tracking with Google Tag Manager, but didn't get the data I wanted. I want to see what users are typing into the search field on my site (the URL structure of my site isn't set up properly to use GA's built-in site search tracking). So, I set up the form submit event tracking in Google Tag Manager and used the following as my event tracking parameters: Category: Search Action: Search Value When I test and look in Google Analytics I just see: "search" and "search value." I wanted to see the text that I searched on my site. Not just the Action and Category of the event.... Is what I'm trying to do even possible? Do I need to set up a different event tracking parameter? Thanks everyone!

Editing Google Analytics eCommerce Javascript for Volusion

Does anyone know how to edit the ecommerce javascript with Volusion dynamic variables? I thought I did it correctly but none of the information got recorded in GA. It recorded that there was a transaction made but not info on the purchase price, order #, etc. This is the current code I am using: NOTE: In Volusions customer support center they provided this information: Where Order-Specific Information is Generated Order-specific information can be generated by JavaScript on the OrderFinished.asp page within Volusion. On this page, two JavaScript arrays will be initialized that advanced users may need to be aware of. The arrays and their contents are as follow:
Order Array Contents Order[0] = Order ID
    Order[1] = Unused
    Order[2] = Payment Amount
    Order[3] = Affiliate Commisionable Value
    Order[4] = Sales Tax
    Order[5] = Total Shipping Cost
    Order[6] = Billing City
    Order[7] = Billing State
    Order[8] = Billing Country OrderDetails Array Contents OrderDetails[X][0] = Order ID
    OrderDetails[X][1] = Order Detail ID
    OrderDetails[X][2] = Product Code
    OrderDetails[X][3] = Product Name
    OrderDetails[X][4] = (unused)
    OrderDetails[X][5] = Product Price
    OrderDetails[X][6] = Quantity Note that in the above example, X refers to a line item number (beginning from zero). Note that there can be multiple Order Details arrays - one for each item contained within an order. I'm a newbie at Analytics installation and could really use any help. Thanks!
