What is the B2B Benchmark for PPC Landing Page Conversions
-
I work for a B2B software company and have recently begun implementing PPC via Adwords. I was wondering what you guys use as a standard benchmark for a successful landing page, specifically conversion rate? Conversion rate being defined as someone clicking to the landing page, then clicking on a link or filling out a form on the landing page.

Hi there,
There's definitely no magic number for conversion rates, unfortunately - some businesses consider 2% amazingly high. For others, anything less than 20% would be a failure depending on what the desired action is. It depends entirely on the page and campaign.
I would start here to figure out both what your current problems are and what sort of improvement you can consider to be "good" - it's very difficult to compare your CR to anyone else's but your own. That post works with that assumption - that it's only your own data that can be used to decide on what constitutes improvement or what success looks like.
Sorry to provide a non-answer, but I'd go as far as to say that it's hard to even compare your CR with others in your industry - with different brands and landing pages, everyone's data is unique to them.

There are no standard conversion rates as there are a lot of variables associated with each landing page . (Call to action, conversion elements , industry etc)
Here's an interesting insight from Marketing Experiments:
-
I don't know about download able software - but why not look at the other marketing channels and see how they are doing in comparison.
What is your conversion rate for Direct traffic, email traffic and compare it against there.
There isn't going to be a magic number out there to hit, but comparing it to other marketing channels and aiming to improve it week on week is the best solution. Rather than trying to hit a mysterious number.
If you are classing as someone as competing a form as a conversion, have you set this up correctly so that you can accurately track conversion rate ( I am guessing so, just wanted to check that you had this in place).

Do the clickable images on pages are bad that they will increase bounce rate and distract users?
Hi Moz community, I'm trying to get some helpful answers on this. We are planning to employ clickable images on our website pages which opens in new tab if users click on them. This is to make sure that they can see the large screenshots of our product. I wonder will this increase the bounce rate and drop the rankings. Please share your experience and guidance on this. Thanks

Adwords Remarketing Advice - Low Traffic Pages
Moz, I am just looking for a little advice if anyone has any experience with Google Adwords and remarketing in particular, I am currently looking through the Adwords help pages to gain a better understanding of how Adwords remarketing works, from what i gather this can be a really useful resource to use in certain industries and i have a lot of ideas and scenarios where i think this could work really well, I am just trying to get a good understanding of the how remarketing lists are built up, Using Rule based targeting for visitors that have visited a specific page that gains roughly 1200 unique visits every 60 days, so i have set the membership duration to 60 days, So if i use the visit of this page as a rule for my list, then in a little less than 60 days time then my custom ads should start appearing to these previous visitors ? My Question Am a right in thinking the remarketing list is like a funnel, once 1000 visitors are added to this list/funnel then my ads will start showing, but then as those visitors in the funnel have reached the 61st Day they will be removed, and replaced with the new visitors being added to the list for that day ? Aslong as my list remains above 1000 visitors it will continue to show, but if i were to drop below 1000 visits within that 60 days my ads would not be visible ? so i would need to potentially extend the membership period if this happens ? Apologies as i really struggled to explain this question as best as i can 🙂 Hope someone can drop me a quick comment and straighten this out to ensure that i am on the right track and i am understanding this correctly 🙂 Thanks a lot James

We have a website which provides guestlist to clubs in London, we are competitive on our keywords and ppc and get the clicks through with very very relevant adverts and meta descriptions.... The questions is 'How do I improve our conversion rate on page?' The said pages are setup like the examples below: www.capitalalist.com/movida-guestlist/ www.capitalalist.com/chinawhite-guestlist/ www.capitalalist.com/mahiki-guestlist/ The conversion comes when the click 'join guestlist' and fill out the form. How to improve Time to First Byte? Page Load Speed
I am working with a ecommerce site that is having major issues with their load speed. The ttfb is...wait for it...7911 ms. I am not even sure where to start with this issue. If you have any recommendations, it would be appreciated. Is it the clients servers that are slow? They have went through multiple redesigns and have some code that could probably be deleted but I don't think it would make it that slow.
