Does Moz recognize rel next prev tags? Magento question
-
Howdy Mozzers!
We are running a store in magento where we have many products in each category. Hence view all for category pages is not an option. We have applied rel next prev tags to our paginated pages in the following manner
Example for page 2 in a category:
The issue we are facing is that Moz suggests www.domain.com/category and www.domain.com/category?p=1 as duplicates, even though rel next prev tags are implemented.
1. Does nel next prev consolidate link juice?
2. Does Moz recognize the tags?
3. Will this work for us or should we implement canonical tags as well? -
Thanks for all the resources and help Thomas.
Cheers!

Found an official resource on rel next prev tags http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/pagination-with-relnext-and-relprev.html
1. The tags do consolidate links to paginated series
2. Its an alternative for "canonicaling" to a view all page for ecommerce stores, where a view all page is **not possible **
I do not think a canonical tag is required in my case, since paginated pages are not strictly speaking "duplicates". A rel next prev seems alot more appropriate.
Whats your opinion on this?

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for input and all the great resources. I have read Yoast's SEO guide in the past and I do agree its a great resource.
"1. Does nel next prev consolidate link juice?
Here you go
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW5UL3lzBOA"
This video did not answer whether rel next prev tags consolidate link juice. Are you aware of any other authoritative resources that answer this?
"2. Does Moz recognize the rel next prev tags?
Yes"
In that case shouldent it recognize URL and URL?p=1 as the same page if they are using rel next prev? Or does rel next prev not indicate this? We could use 301 redirects to solve this?
"3. Will this work for us or should we implement canonical tags as well?
** Yes you must add rel canonical"**
If Rel next prev do consolidate link juice and tell google that this is a series, then what is the need of the canonical tag? Wouldent using rel next prev defeat its purpose if we had to use the canonical tag in our paginated pages as well?
I appreciate your valuable input in this discussion

When properly setting up links you need to have them read like this. I believe this information will shed some more light on it
I think this would be a better format for your links obviously you can replace the "cat" with your chosen category
This website focuses mostly on WordPress but has a vast amount of Magento knowledge as well.
https://yoast.com/rel-next-prev-paginated-archives/
I am assuming you have a method of introducing Canonical URL’s for Magento?
https://yoast.com/tools/magento/canonical/
This is a great tool/amount of information for Magento SEO

if you are running e-commerce which I am sure you are and that is obviously a thing that will affect your bottom line there is a huge amount to be gained with a strong Review/audit with answers on what to do next to fix your issues if you believe that is needed.
A good place to get information on a site https://yoast.com/hire-us/website-review/
please do not think I am pushing Yoast it is just a very high quality site and I know that they are very familiar with Magento

Can Moz generate 404 Broken links report in an excel format
Hi all, Hope you are doing good and that all is well at your end. I'm a marketing team member here at Zephyr and I take care of the content side things for the team. I'm reaching out to you this morning in regards to figuring whether any Moz feature can be used for fixing broken links on our website and whether or not it can generate the broken links report which can be exported and saved in a spreadsheet. We are in the middle of cleaning up all the broken links which are currently live on our drupal site and which is why we are in need of a tool that generates the report of all the broken links onto an excel spreadsheet.Once we have the list of broken links set in a spreadsheet, we will work towards fixing those links. Meanwhile, we have also created a 404 error image for our readers who can be directed towards our homepage. Please, let me know if you can help me take care of these below-mentioned requests: 1. Suggest a tool /Moz feature which can generate the site report and list of broken links onto excel/spreadsheet 2. Once I've the list in an excel format, is there an automated way in which we can fix all the broken links which are currently live on our website, instead of manually deleting/unlinking those pages. Truly appreciate your help. Thank you! Is there an automated way in which we can fix all the broken links which are currently live on our website, instead of manually deleting/unlinking those pages.

Two Questions
1) The PA in the SEOmoz toolbar for ldnwicklesscandles.com/scentsy-uk/ is completely different to http://www.ldnwicklesscandles.com/scentsy-uk. I think in link building I've occasionally left the / off and vice versa. Is google seeing these as two different sites and how can I combine the two so the PA is no longer different? I initially tried a 301 redirect from the less PA to the higher one but it didn't work. Suggestions please. I'm trying to rank for the term Scentsy UK. Was told on here that it was unnecessary to get a .co.uk and that if I just link build for my scentsy-uk site which I have been doing. Woke up this morning and my page ldnwicklesscandles.com/scentsy-uk was no where to be seen on Google. I can still do site: and Link: for my main .com and I'm still ranking first page for other things so don't think I've been penalised at all. However when I try the site: and link: on the .com/scentsy-uk its no where to be found. There was no messages in Google webmaster tools either. Is this an algorithm thing or have I been penalised? Also....its now pulling up <cite>www.ldnwicklesscandles.com/blog/tag/scentsy-uk</cite> for the higher ranking results. Have I confused google with having this blog tag as well? Any suggestions to help would be appreciated. Losing a lot of sleep on this website at the moment. x

Moz Toolbar Analyzer - Links
On the moz toolbar there is an Analyze tool. The third tab is for viewing Page Attributes. That page contains a section called On Page Links. I can see the External Link count, but I need to drill down further to look at these external links. I have viewed a page and don't see the external links this tool is seeing. I have searched the page, the source code, and used other tools on the page. The numbers don't match up. Is there a tool which lists all the external links on a given page?
