Hi
New to Moz, I'm finding it all very helpful and daunting at the same time. I've read heaps of Seo the Moz content and watched every Video I can find.
It's all going well and I've managed to get A's on some of my pages,
I was hoping some one cold tell me why this site (Link to screan grab http://tinypic.com/r/dnj9di/8 ) is way above me in the Google search results? It appears to be under performing me in Moz but in actual fact it is greatly out performing me in Google.
Any insights are more than gratefully received!
Thanks
Ben

Hi,
This may also be a local search issue? I have just done the same search (based near Leicester) and i get the following results...
So you are coming 3rd in the results... Try clearing your cache etc when doing the search and/or doing it in incognito window in Chrome. See if your results are different.

Hi
looking at their site http://www.funeral-catering-services.co.uk/ they don't even use the key word I used, "funeral caterers" and the word "Funeral" is only in the copy 3 times and "caterer" is not used once, This is so confusing!
Thanks for your reply

Hi,
My suggestion is that it is possibly to do with particular keywords. Someone may put me right on this but you could have higher ranks etc loads of link juice but if there are particular keywords that are well used by the offending site then it might be that.

403s: Are There Instances Where 403's Are Common & Acceptable?
Hey All, Both MOZ & Webmaster tools have identified 403 errors on an editorial site I work with (using Drupal CMS). I looked into the errors and the pages triggering the 403 are all articles in draft status that are not being indexed. If I am not logged into our drupal and I try to access an article in draft status I get the 403 forbidden error. Are these 403's typical for an editorial site where editors may be trying to access an article in draft status while they are not logged in? Webmaster tools is showing roughly 350 pages with the 'Access Denied' 403 status. Are these harmful to rank? Thanks!

How do you get your web site recrawled with Moz without waiting for a week?
My initial crawl was screwed up because of a no follow that needed to be removed. I would like Moz to recrawl the site right away so I can find any other errors.

What's the best way for SEO newbie to analyze & fix a site after being hit by Panda?
Hi, I have a prospective client who was in the top 3 on Google for two of their primary keywords. They fell way back in the rankings immediately after Panda was rolled out on September 27, 2012. Two weeks ago, they were at position #118 for one keyword. After looking for them in Rank Checker today, they cannot be found in Google at all. Here's my question. Because of the "bad links" (some pointing to Porno sites)... what's the possibility that this situation cannot be fixed? I don't know... maybe I'm asking an irrelevant question. I'm attempting to assess the situation so I can go back and present my findings to the prospective client. I'm committed to understanding what's going on with their website so I can assess the situation properly. Fixing their problem starts with a correct assessment. They have a ranking problem, and I know I can fix that... IF all their site needs is white hat SEO. What I DON'T want is... to sell them SEO services, only to find out in 3-6 months... I made an incorrect diagnosis of the problem, and therefore sold them the wrong solution. I know I can close the sale if I can show them with reasonable substantiation that the damage is not beyond repair. I'm familiar with the basics of SEO, but I'm unfamiliar with how "bad linking" might effect the long-term commitment to optimizing. They're wondering if they should start over on another website. I was attempting to do an assessment to better understand if my typical approach on this site would be sufficient. Also... I wanted to get an assessment/report to show them something to substantiate my conclusion(s) about their website. If Open Site Explorer is sufficient to do the link analysis... great. At least I know I'm working with the right tool. All I have to do is learn how to use the tool quickly. At this point... I'm not sure which tool would be helpful. So... can you speak to the following 2 questions: 1.) How do you know when ranking problem is beyond fixing? 2.) What software/tool is ideal for doing some link analysis in order to assess the problem, and prescribe a solution? Thanks so much! Ramon

Need to find all pages that link to list of pages/pdf's
I know I can do this in OSE page by page, but is there a way I can do this in a large batch? There are 200+ PDF's that I need to figure out what pages (if any) link to the PDF. I'd rather not do this page by page, but rather copy-paste the entire list of pages I'm looking for. Any tools you know of that can do this?
