Removing pages from index

My client is running 4 websites on ModX CMS and using the same database for all the sites.
Roger has discovered that one of the sites has 2050 302 redirects pointing to the clients other sites.
The Sitemap for the site in question includes 860 pages. Google Webmaster Tools has indexed 540 pages. Roger has discovered 5200 pages and a Site: query of Google reveals 7200 pages.
Diving into the SERP results many of the pages indexed are pointing to the other 3 sites. I believe there is a configuration problem with the site because the other sites when crawled do not have a huge volume of redirects.
My concern is how can we remove from Google's index the 2050 pages that are redirecting to the other sites via a 302 redirect?

As per the post the website is built with ModX CMS and the difficulty has come about because the client is using one database to serve 4 websites. One of the sites has been configured incorrectly and is creating pages that relate to listings on other sites and passing traffic via a 302 redirect.
We're working on fixing the configuration so new pages and 302 redirects are not created. I want to remove from the index the 2050 302 redirects we've discovered to date. GWT allows you to remove URLs one at a time although the removal request procedure does not seem appropriate in the situation.

You might be running into the 302 error due to the system that your site uses to redirect URLs. What CMS or cart is the site built in? A agree with Nakul, that we need to see the underlying code to diagnose the issue.

The first and the foremost suggestion would be to clean the underlying code and see if you can change the 302s to 301s. Can you post or send via private message the example URLs ?

Sitemap Indexed Pages, Google Glitch or Problem With Site?
Hello, I have a quick question about our Sitemap Web Pages Indexed status in Google Search Console. Because of the drastic drop I can't tell if this is a glitch or a serious issue. When you look at the attached image you can see that under Sitemaps Web Pages Indexed has dropped suddenly on 3/12/17 from 6029 to 540. Our Index status shows 7K+ indexed. Other than product updates/additions and homepage layout updates there have been no significant changes to this website. If it helps we are operating on the Volusion platform. Show parts of page A on page B & C?

A quick question. I am working on a website which has a large page with different sections. Lets say: Page 1
SECTION A
SECTION B
SECTION C Now, they are adding a new area where they want to show only certain sections, so it would look like this: Page 2
SECTION A Page 3
SECTION C Page 4
SECTION D So my question is, would a rel='canonical' tag back to Page 1 be the correct way of preempting any duplicate content issues? I do not need Page 2-4 to even be indexed, it is just a matter of usability and giving the users what they are looking for without all the rest of the extra stuff. Gracias. Tesekürler. Salamat Ko. Extra indexed pages from my blog in wordpress
I have a blog on my site which is in WordPress. When you publish an article it creates a couple of urls such as tags, author, category, month, ... . So when you look for indexed pages you see tons of pages for the blog. Does it hurt the SEO. If yes how I can sort it out,

How long takes to a page show up in Google results after removing noindex from a page?
Hi folks, A client of mine created a new page and used meta robots noindex to not show the page while they are not ready to launch it. The problem is that somehow Google "crawled" the page and now, after removing the meta robots noindex, the page does not show up in the results. We've tried to crawl it using Fetch as Googlebot, and then submit it using the button that appears. We've included the page in sitemap.xml and also used the old Google submit new page URL https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url Does anyone know how long will it take for Google to show the page AFTER removing meta robots noindex from the page? Any reliable references of the statement? I did not find any Google video/post about this. I know that in some days it will appear but I'd like to have a good reference for the future. Thanks.

What to do when you buy a Website without it's content which has a few thousand pages indexed?
I am currently considering buying a Website because I would like to use the domain name to build my project on. Currently that domain is in use and that site has a few thousand pages indexed and around 30 Root domains linking to it (mostly to the home page). The topic of the site is not related to what I am planing to use it for. If there is no other way, I can live with losing the link juice that the site is getting at the moment, however, I want to prevent Google from thinking that I am trying to use the power for another, non related topic and therefore run the risk of getting penalized. Are there any Google guidelines or best practices for such a case?

Is 301 redirecting your index page to the root '/' safe to do or do you end up in an endless loop?
Hi I need to tidy up my home page a little, I have some links to our index.html page but I just want them to go to the root '/' so I thought I could 301 redirect it. However is this safe to do? I'm getting duplicate page notifications in my analytic reportings tools about the home page and need a quick way to fix this issue. Many thanks in advance David

Are pages with a canonical tag indexed?
Hello here, here are my questions for you related to the canonical tag: 1. If I put online a new webpage with a canonical tag pointing to a different page, will this new page be indexed by Google and will I be able to find it in the index? 2. Links to images on a page diluting page value?

Could the large amount of images - in particular the links on the images (links to the larger versions) be causing it to dilute the value of the actual page?
