Same linking c-blocks trend as competitor
-
I noticed in our competitive link report that our number of linking c-blocks has risen and fallen in the exact same pattern as one of our competitors. Is there a reason why this would be happening?
-
Thanks! Â Yes, I'm talking about "referring domain counts". That's what I was thinking. After looking at link building strategy and individual links, nothing else makes much sense. I've included the graph, just to confirm. I was referring to the top two lines.
-
Are the  "referring domain counts" increasing and decreasing in a similar pattern? If so, you are probably looking at the ebb and flow of the index, and not anything in particular related to your site. The larger Moz's index, the more likely they are to find links to both you and your competitor. The smaller, the less likely. The only time you would expect to see substantial divergence would be if either you or your competitor were adding or removing links at a substantially different pace from the other.
-
Hey,
I guess you and your competitors are following similar link building approaches
It might be a co-incident but we have to see that trend from every way before reaching to any conclusion. You have to see is time span also the same? Plus, what was your link building approach at that time? Then only, you can have a solid answer.

Hello, there.
Are you and your competitors link/being linked from the same websites? If so, then whenever those hosts become history or do clean up, you all get unlinked at the same time. And, if you and your competitors are watching each other closely and trying to get backlinks at exact same places - you will get indexed at the same time as well.
Cheers.

I have a client with a bit over 100 inbound links but Open Site Explorer shows total links on Subdomain as over 66,000, how can this be?
I have a client www.woodard247.com that shows only a bit over 100 inbound links. using the Open Site Explorer, they are a well trafficed local site and are not doing any grey hat or black hat techniques. Â However the rankings for their main keywords have suffered recently and we cannot identify any duplicate content or keyword stuffing issues. Â We have never purchased links or used link building software. Â Now for the main question: When we run Open Site Explorer it shows only a bit over 100 inbound links on the page and the domain, but the subdomain shows over 66,000 total links! Â How can this be possible? Â Could this be a problem? Â How can I find out what these links are since Open Site Explorer and Seo Spyglass both show only a hundred or so?

Linking Building: Do I have to beat Linking Root Domains or Total Links?
Hello, When skoping for how to beat competitors, do I need to aim to beat the linking root domains number or the total links? Or do I need to think about both? Thanks!

Limit of 3 competitors per campaign
Hello, Can I just check why the number of competitors per campaign is limited to 3? ie. We have up to 20 URLs we want to monitor for the same keywords as us. I understand I can add another campaign to track another 4x URLs, but this will not show those in relation to our main URL/campaign. We would prefer to have space for 12 competitors rather than 12 campaigns. If we upgrade to Elite is the number increased? Might be missing something here, as we are new to SEOMoz, so grateful for any advice. SEOMoz is really great, we have learned so much already. Rich

Where is the best place to add links on my site?
If I'd like to put links to other sites in my site, is it better to have a page named "Our Helpful Links" etc. instead of just adding them to the bottom of an existing page like I've seen on some sites? I'm asking because I'm wanting to make Google as happy as possible and still add them. Just in case it helps to look at the site yourself to give advise its; http://www.allstatetransmission.net If you see anything else there that I should work on feel free to be hard on it, I value any criticism. Thanks, Jeff

No follow Internal Links
Hello, I am comparing my site with my competitors. Â According to Open Site Explorer, my site has 541 internal follow links, and a total of 1,286 total internal links, implying I have 745 no follow internal links. I tried to drill into these internal no follow links using the "Inbound Links" report in OSE. Â But I'm receiving an error stating that No Data is Available for this URL. Does anyone have any insight to this? Â I'd really like to understand where those no follow links are coming from. Thanks in advance. eh70
