Moz Local - Does it do the work for you?
-
Good Morning Everyone,
I have a quick question regarding Moz Local ... I understand what it does and the purpose and how great it is...
My question is this: If you sign up for Moz local, does it actually send all of the proper and necessary info to each of the aggregators or sites that it lists or does it simply tell me what information i need to send them and i have to provide this info to each one myself?
For example, does it say something like "Inconsistent info found on Yelp, please do this to correct" .... OR, does it actually make the corrections and send to yelp for me?
Thanks

Hi Prime!
In short, Moz Local tracks a total of 15 platforms. 10 of these we directly update and manage for you. 5 of them you will need to manage manually.
The 10 we directly update for you are:
Acxiom
Best of the Web
Bing
Citysearch
Factual
Foursquare
Infogroup
Insiderpages
Localeze
Superpages
The other 5 we track but don't push to are:
Google
Facebook
YP
Yelp
Hotfrog
In order to sign up for Moz Local, you will first need to have either a verified Google+ Local page or Facebook Place as these are the 2 sources we draw data from and validate against.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your input.
Anyone else who pays for the Moz Local service have any feedback or answer to the original question?
Thanks

Hey Prime 85
Im in the UK and have used the free version of the tool without signing up for full moz local
It listed my company as 32% complete and it claimed it could get me to 96%
I worked through the listings 1 by 1 using the information the free version provides and currently have it up to 79%
The free version does exactly what you said, by following the tabs it tell you where inconsistent data is found and which profiles are incomplete and where duplicate listings are found. This approach involves much more work but is great for a company like my employer who wont spend on the features. I still know exactly what I need to do to climb the extra few percent but it is proving hard as some of them dont allow edits unless you pay for listings etc.
I understand if you pay for moz local, you basically sync up all your listing accounts with your moz local account and it goes through each automatically updating the information to be the same. The only work you have to do it providing is access and permission to edit those account.
It basically removes the hours of leg work i have put in to acheive around 80% and gives you a 95% + completion in super fast time and makes it easy to maintain and update these listings without having to do each one individually.
Hopefully someone who pays for it can give you a better idea of how to full paid product behaves, But this is how i understand it.
Hope it helps

Moz's New Video Ads on YouTube
I've enjoyed Moz's new video ads and want to share them with colleagues, however am unable to find the vids anywhere other than when they're delivered before a video plays on YouTube. Are they available on demand? If anyone is unfamiliar with the videos I speak of, they are new ads for Moz products like Keyword Explorer, Mozbar, and MozCon. Thanks in advance!

Including "Volume" on the Tracked Keywords Overview Page in Moz Pro
I've searched Q&A but I did not see where this question has been asked before, so hopefully I'm not repeating a question that has already been asked (and answered). For the past couple of years I have been using Conductor Searchlight as our SEO toolset, however recently I have made the decision to switch to Moz Pro. My question is regarding the Tracked Keywords Overview Page. In the current display, the Overview Page shows Keyword, Location, Universal Results, Rank, URL and Optimize. Has there every been any consideration to also include Volume? One of the nice features of CS Keyword Overview page was that I was able to view the rank of all my keywords, and the volume of each, at the same time. We currently track 275 keywords. Some keywords are obviously more important than others. The CS Overview Page allowed me to quickly scan through the list of keywords, see the ones that were within striking distance of page one (by rank), and since I could also see the volume at the same time, it also allowed me to prioritize which keyword to focus on. If two keywords were both ranked "11", but one had triple of volume of the other, it makes sense to focus on the one with the greater volume. From Moz's Tracked Keywords Overview Page I can drill down and get the "Volume" information that I'm looking for (and lots of other really good information), but I have to do it for each individual keyword. Moz Pro is a great SEO tool and the information available is amazing. The switch from CS has been an easy one, but CS did have some features that I liked, and being able to see both rank and volume on the Overview Page was one them. Any information, suggestions, or work-arounds regarding my question is appreciated. Regards Scott

| np - /google-structured-data-update/ | In my "New Rankings & Insights | Hill Web Creations" report, while "Google structured data update" moved up significantly, at the same time, "np - /google-structured-data-update/" moved down significantly. Any insights that would offer a deeper understanding of the discrepancy and how to pull both up? If this corresponds with Google Analytics, the "np" Acquisitions > Campaigns > Organic Keywords > "Organic Search Traffic" Report, how is Moz rendering is New Rankings & Insights?0 -
Suggestion to Improve Moz's Link Data
Hello All. The recent Index update (29th January) seems to have produced quite a few shocks to Moz Pro users. Index updates always cause panic and joy every time they are released. However, I feel this is a big improvement that could be made. In this last index, the DA for my site has remained the same. I was expecting a rise, simply because I have been doing some link building since October and was expecting the results to start showing around this time. However, the link metrics for my site looked worse this month than ever before. The index clearly didn't crawl sites and pages that it has crawled the last couple of indexes, and I noticed a few links disappeared from the metrics altogether, links that I know still exist. So I have a suggestion... If Moz has collected link data in previous indexes, can it not preserve that data rather than starting afresh with every new index. Regular checks could be conducted on existing link data to identify expired or broken links, but to disregard them and start anew with every index seems a little odd. That way, Moz would have much more accurate and comprehensive link data which would help to avoid the DA inaccuracy, and provide users with a better measure of how their site is performing against the rest of the web. This may be naive because I do not know the technical side to index updates. Any thoughts, advice, suggestions etc would be appreciated.
