How recognize my site category to google.com
-
Hello Dear Experts;
-
Hi Vahid,
Google goes to great lengths these days to understand what your website is about. It comes from a combination of elements, some of which include:
- Page titles
- Headings
- Content (keywords, relevant phrases and related topics etc)
- The relevance of backlinks and anchor text pointing to the site
- Relevance of image alt text
By considering each of these and likely quite a few more, search engines can put together quite an accurate picture of exactly what it is that you do and how relevant you are to both the larger terms and the more obscure long tail stuff.
To give you an example what I'm talking about, think about a care hire company here in Brisbane. If the page title and H1 for the home page are talking about car hire in Brisbane, the content covers things like car hire, rentals, vehicle information, location info for their various stores in suburbs etc and they've got backlinks from car and tourism websites, it's quite obvious that this website is all about car hire in Brisbane.
Alternatively, if that same website had no real connection between each of these onsite elements and backlinks from all over the place, they're not going to seem nearly as strong or relevant for their specific terms.
I suppose the short answer to your question is to provide users with good, relevant content, build relevant backlinks that will actually earn referral traffic and Google will work out your "category" from that.

Sometimes I write a post for another site and then post the first 1/3rd on my site to help promote it. Is this a bad idea?
Sometimes I write a post for another site and then post the first 1/3rd on my site to help promote it. Is this a bad idea? When I do that should I be adding a canonical link to the original post? Should I have /make sure the 3rd party site does something? Is there anything else I should do? Thanks in advance.

Country sites - TLD's or sub directories?
Dear All, We have several brands which operate a several languages and currently have a set up like this: www.[BRAND].com/ = English global www.[BRAND].com/de = German www.[BRAND].com/fr = French … Each subdirectory is a completely different site so I was wondering would it be better to use TLD’s for each country site in order to hold more equity in the search engine if we used: www.[BRAND].com/ = English global www.[BRAND].de = German www.[BRAND].fr = French Are country top level domains the way to go? If we wanted to change language within a country site should we use the following? www.[BRAND].be = Belgium English www.[BRAND].be/nl-NL/ = Belgium Dutch If you could let me know what to do I would be most grateful. hi, its me again. I bought 2 domains for my new site I want to build. My keyword is: "BabyHazelGames" babyhazelgames.land ( for me it sounded like "the land of baby hazel" etc ) PlayHazel.com ( short .com domain, still says what the sites about ) If u check first page for this keyword u see most of the sites are EMD-s or filler partial EMD ( on .com-s)Someone told me to buy a EMD since I fight with EMD-s on first page, and its the only way I have a chance! I bought The games license, theme license and all of these. That was alot of money, and I dont want to put all my money and work on the wrong domain name. Please help me decide between these 2; Thanks!

Best Practices for Google+
I have a client that has a decent following on Google+ on his personal account but his business profile doesn't have many people going to it. The law firm he owns has roughly 14 attorneys and all of them write for their blog. Since they are all new to Google+ except for him, I'm wondering what everyone things that the best practice is to get the information shared. When we post the information on his personal personal profile, he generally gets between 50 - 75 +1s and a dozen or so shares. If we put it on the business profile we don't get more than 10. The issue is when one of the attorney's that is new to G+ posts on their timeline and then we share it via the business, we then have to share it via the owners timeline to get any traction. We need to build followers for each of the attorneys new to G+, that's obvious, but what do we do in the mean time? Since the owner is also the brand, what is your suggestion of the best strategy?

Google displays the wrong store hours. Can anyone help lead me to the fix?
When doing the following search on Google "Ticket King Milwaukee hours" we see the wrong hours displayed at the top of the page. Just to the left of our places page, you will see "Tuesday hours 8:30-1:00 pm." That 1 pm closing comes up for every weekday, even though we are open until 6 pm weekdays, and 3 pm on Saturdays. I have checked the hours listed on our G+ page, our "Places for Business" page, our "about us" page on our website, and can't find where they are getting this incorrect data. I even went out and checked most of the "List your business" sites that I have registered with.

I have submitted this to Google, but have not heard back. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix this, or at least find out where this bad data is coming from? I did find a company blog post from 2010 that listed our ours in a somewhat confusing way, but it was still correct. (I have since fixed that old post.)0 -
Google+ multiple languages
I'm facing the following situation: We have a website (barcelonacheckin.com) with multiple languages. Each language has each own url. For instance English is barcelonacheckin.com/en and Spanish is barcelonacheckin.com/es. If I'm right there seems to be a relation between the number of +1's and ranking in Google. Therefore we created a Google+ business page (https://plus.google.com/101996769636292908838) and we linked it to the english page of our web-site. The number of +1's on our business page is in sync with our English landing page. Now we want also to gather many +1's in the other languages. But it seems that you can only connect one Google+ business page to one web page. My question is. Whould it be smart to make a separate Google+ business page for each language? I wonder how other multilingual web-sites are dealing with Google+.

Google Maps Address Change
Below is an email from a former client. He is a personal trainer and his wife is a personal trainer and therapist. They used to operate out of their home. But now they have another location for their business. My questions: Will the address change work? How long will it take ? Is there anything more they can do? We've come across an interesting problem in the last couple of weeks. It took a while to figure out what was going on, but I think I've found the source. When one searches 'xxxx Athletic' on google maps (a very common way to find businesses as you know), the address that comes up is xxxxxxxxx (our home). Clients are coming to our house rather than the gym. Luckily we're only a few mins away by car, so they aren't late once they figure out what has happened. We need to change it to our new business address. I have tried to do this via Google Places, and thought I was successful this morning, but alas the listing is still our house. Perhaps it will take a few days to update, but in the meantime I have added a page to my personal Google+ profile with the proper address info. If you happen to know anyway to help us that would be great.
