Why did I lose my rankings for a keyword "CRM" even after getting quality backlinks?
-
Initially my website is ranking on third page of Google.com for the keyword "CRM". So to improve rankings I got good number of quality backlinks by guest posting in various websites. But now my website is ranking on 6th page, which is a big concern for me. But for Google.in there was neither any improvement nor any fall in the ranking.
I have following doubts in my mind
1. Does the sudden increase in backlinks (quality backlinks in the from of guest posts) effect rankings in a negative way?
2. Why did it effect on Google.com and not on Google.in?
3. What needs to be done on urgent basis to recover from this?
Kindly help me with all your suggestions.
Thanks

Hi Krishna! We'd love an update—did Dmitrii's or Patrick's response(s) help? And if so, would you mind marking one or both responses as a "good answer?"
Thanks!

Hi there.
1. It might, if you got hundreds of them at the same time or a lot of those guest posts are duplicate content.
2. Most likely locality. Also the language of backlinking websites. Anchor texts also could be the reason.
3. I doubt there is something you can do in ten minutes and get your rankings back.
Now, here is a thing. While backlinks are a strong signal, it's far not the only signal. Have you done any other changes to your page recently? Have your competitor done any changes recently? How is your SEO? Technical SEO?
If you were ranking on third page, it means that fluctuations of +/- 2-3 pages are normal, since there were no "good reason" to rank your page anyway.

Hi there
It should be noted that effects of backlinks are immediately felt - they do take time to take effect and also show their benefits. For instance, there's chat of the Google Sandbox...
"The Google Sandbox is an alleged filter placed on new websites. The result is that a site does not receive good rankings for its most important keywords and keyword phrases. Even with good content, abundant incoming links and strong Google PageRank, a site is still adversely affected by the Sandbox effect. The Sandbox acts as a de facto probation for sites, possibly to discourage spam sites from rising quickly, getting banned, and repeating the process."
Now, while your site may not be new so this may not apply. I would make sure that these links are quality like you said but also that they are relevant to your site and that you are not abusing anchor text in your post. Here is a great resource from Kissmetrics on how to guest post properly. I suggest you read it but also look for other opportunities:
- Partnerships
- Integrations
- Certifications
- Awards
- Industry links
- Press releases
But again, these all have to be relevant. I would give your link building efforts some time to see the real ROI. Make sure you annotate in GA and that you are tracking keyword rankings and variations.
Let me know if you have any questions or comments.
Good luck!
Patrick

Backlinking Strategy
I am particularly new to the field of SEO and Backlinking and I have recently started my own blog feel free to have a look (https://thehorseradar.com/). What I wanted to find out is how can I achieve a DA of at least 30. What should be my link-building strategy? & what steps should I take first? With an abundance of overwhelming info available online I have gotten really confused about what would work and what would not. If someone would lay out the steps needed to be taken, I would be extremely grateful! Thank You

Are Old Backlinks Hurting Or Helping?
I have a ton of old backlinks for products that I no longer carry but I have redirected them to other pages within the site. I was told by an SEO expert that these links are hurting me rather than helping because people click on the links and then leave. These backlinks are from reputable blogs, news sources etc and my spam score is only 1%. Are these links really hurting me?

How to analyze a backlink
My site has around 6k backlinks, which majority seem to be spammy. I understand the whole process to contact the webmaster, try to get them removed, and disavow them if you cannot get them deleted. 1. What are some main signs of spotting domains that generate negative SEO? 2. Time frame to clean up 6k links assuming 50% are bad? Currently we are looking are a service to take care of this for us, but from reading everything online it seems the only reliable way to do it would be manually. Any recommendations on this would be appreciated.

Backlinks and Domain Authority
Hi there, I have a question on backlinks. I have seen conflicting stories about it, and hoping someone with a vast amount of experience will be able to help me (If you could please be so kind). Now I understand the difference between 'no-follow' links and 'follow' links. I have accumulated quite a few 'no-follow' links through things like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc. I understand that they won't feed my site authority or trust; or anything of that sort (I do work on content too, and have gotten a few follow links, don't worry). Now I have seen conflicting answers to the actual importance of them. Some things I have read are saying that SEs completely ignore them (NFL), and they don't even consider them a 'link', but rather a user tool to further the experience of the reader on your site. Which is fair enough, but then people are turning around and also saying that Google relies heavily on them, and they only make up 5% of the internet or something. I have even read something saying they are the only ones worth getting (I know that is bs, but they must have a reason behind this thought?). If someone could enlighten me as to a 'ideal' ratio, and also any little known authoritative sites I could look at submitting content to. I am in the plumbing business, and doing my own sites, so I'm no expert. Also, what are the importance of comment links? I don't go for them, but don't know if I should? Sorry for the mouthful, but I would really appreciate help on this matter. Kindest regards, Kyle The Plumber Bro's The Electrician Bro's

Does using "pring2web" hurt SEO?
I've never really seen this before but one of my clients has 4000+ links from Print2Web. Their rankings are falling back a bit but I'm wondering if this is part of the problem. They don't seem to say their service is about SEO so I'm not so sure this is counted as spam or not. The main concern is that the next closest number of links from one site is only 97. Has anyone heard of this service? Can someone tell me from experience if using this service has hurt SEO efforts? Thanks!

For example, we are doing seo every day right, i like to know, we are submiting every day our websites to strong directories, publishin press releases, writing comments, writing for otherblogs, and all those websites crawl google-daily. How much take the google system to calculate my backlinks and change the ranking position..? Thanks.

Link Location: In main page or inner "Link" page?
My question is what´s best of Link Building: have it in main page or in internal Link Pages. I have the problem that have to reduce the number of outgoing links in my mainpage to rank better, but do not want to miss any linkjuice. How Linking in Main Page or Internal Pages affects SERP for your website? And should they be Follow or not Follow? Thanks in advance Maria Jesus
