Best free or inexpensive backlink audit tools

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for free or inexpensive backlink audit tools? Of course I have access to Search Console and to the OSE but it seems they don't offer a complete picture of our backlink profiles.
I have previous experience using Link Research Tools for this but this is too expensive for the amount of use we would get out of it so I am looking for (much) cheaper alternatives. I look after 8 websites, however very little active link building was done for these in the past so we are not experiencing any issues due to bad links, but I would still like to get a better picture of our complete backlink profile.
I've considered just using a trial of Majestic or Ahrefs for this, but this would only be a one off solution.
I would welcome any suggestions. Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is considered advertising, because I work for the tool I'm about to mention, but it really answers the question.
I don't mind mods removing this.The cheapest option out there is Serpstat.
It starts at $19 but this plan is very limited, so depending on what your needs are it may not fit you at all.
Next subscription plan costs $69 and gives a lot more space to work with, though at this price you can shop around and pick whatever suits you better.I'm sorry if broke the rules.

Google.com showing as backlink provider in Webmaster Tools?
Hi Everyone 🙂 Looking in the 'Links to your site' section of webmaster tools today and my top backlinking domain is google.com which is apparently giving me 113 links. The second top referring site is googleapis.com which apparently isn't even a site when I type it into my browser? Does anyone else get Google.com as a site linking to them? and why would Google be linking to us, where would these links be coming from? Any info appreciated 🙂 Regards

Backlinking unclarities.
Hello, I'm trying to get external links from different websites. http://www.meubels.uwpagina.nl/ is one of them. Now what I am wondering is that 95% of the links on that page arent paid links. The paid links are in bold. To get a link for free on that website you need to place a link on your page to that page. This is not alloud by google, and if you do so you will get a penalty. How do all those websites manage to do it? They obviously know it is not alloud, but still they managed somehow to do this without getting penalized. Can someone clarify this for me? Best way to combat spammy links
Hi folks. A client of mine has taken to building spammy links from commenting on forgein blogs etc. Since hes started this his site has totally dispeared from the SERPS apart from company name searches. Backlinks I don't want
Hi all. According to google webmaster tools www.buywatchesin.net made 29,245 links to ONE category to my website. I went to this site and they copied my article with my links without my permission. Its the same one on all sites in that domain. Thats a lot of links and I thinks that bad for my site. I can't find any contact details to that site. What do you think, any advise?? Please help!
