Asking this on behalf of a client:"I know Google recommends setting up a separate GA property for AMP which they note in a few places:https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/amp-analytics/https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6343176?hl=en
From what we can tell this is because the tracking for AMP will measure things differently than the current analytics.js library. I also think it's related to the GA cookie and how it's set differently for AMP pages.But won't this cause drop-off in user journey information? For example, if a user views an AMP blog article but then clicks to our site from a link within the article. I think we would then track this as two separate users and the pages/visit would be off. I found this article which explains a tech way to connect AMP to the same website GA property but it seems a little too much of a work-around:https://www.simoahava.com/analytics/google-analytics-client-id-amp-pages/

Do you think we should just do what Google recommends and set up AMP as a separate property in GA?"

Moving an entire section of a website to a new URL

Hello there,
I currently have a website that offers services to both domestic and business clients. Currently these are hosted on a single URL, then split out .com/business and .com/domestic We're going to be moving the .com/business structure and content to an entirely new URL which will be dedicated to only the business part of the business. This will also mean a change in the branding of the existing content as the new URL will come under the name of the parent company. My question is two fold: (1) What's the best way to go about this? (2) What would be the estimated effect on the traffic? Many thanks for your help in advance.

Stripping referrer on website with a mix of both http and https

I know going from https to http (usually) strips referrers but I was wondering if the referrer is stripped when your website is a mix of both http and https? Say someone browses your site (on http), adds a product and then goes to your cart (https), then decides to go back to another page on your website which is http. Will this strip the referrer? Any help on this would be great, thanks!

Www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js what is this link doing on my website?

Hello Expert, I am using google tag manager and google analytic is already configured in that now i just want to confirm when i do inspect element of my home page in that i can see this link - http://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js where as if i do view source of my page then it is not visible. so what is this link - www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js and what role it play? Google.co.uk & Google.com difference of ranking

How can our website rank on page 3 in google.co.uk and yet it ranks on page 20 for the same keyword on google.com? This doesn't seem to affect our competitors though and its only our site that is being affected/penalized.

Subdomain GA Tracking??

Hi Mozzers I am tracking a web property www.example.com and we are launching a subdomain.example.com. Should the subdomain tracked on GA by creating a new profile or should it be on its own with a new GA property ID? Thanks for explaining how to do that setup 🙂 Ty

I made 18 websites and the traffic keeps going down over 3 months

I made 18 websites, and have used a analytics web app called piwik. You can google it, but basically it is like google analytics. I have done nothing for the websites no links, no updates. I did do the onpage optimization extremely well. At first I had daily traffic over all the websites at about 200, then like a month went by and it was at 100, then another month has gone by it is hovering around 30 visits -- This is total traffic across all the websites. In addition my websites were ranking much better and alot of them were coming up together in the results in a single google query, now this is no longer true, only one or maybe two come for the same google query and they come up lower in the serp ranking ie. before it was 1st place now 3rd for example, so traffic has decreased respectively. Anybody can tell me what I can do, to regain the positions and traffic I had before.
