Content change within the same URL/Page (UX vs SEO)

Context:
I'm asking my client to create city pages so he can present all of his appartements in that specific sector so i can have a page that ranks for "appartement for rent in +sector". The page will present a map with all the sector so the user can navigate and choose the sector he wants after he landed on the page.
Question:
The UX team is asking if we absolutly need to reload the sector page when the user is clicking the location on the map or if they can switch the content within the same page/url once the user is on the landing page.
My concern:
1. Can this be analysed as duplicate content if Google can crawl within the javascript app or if Google only analyse his "first view" of the page.
2. Do you consider that it would be preferable to keep the "page change" so i'm increasing the number of page viewed ?

Google can read dynamic content, so I would not do this. In terms of UX, why don't you come up with something really cool while the users are waiting? How many seconds do you need for the change? As a rule, I would keep the sections with their own content because Google can read dynamic content.

So by example, if the user is on the "New York" page that he clicks on the "Boston" location withing the app, is there any problem changing the content inside the New York page and propose all the boston location without changing the page to the Boston url but just by changing the content inside the New York page

I totally agree with what you're telling me. My plan is to keep the separate pages for every sector so I have my pages that rank for every sector. My question was more oriented on when the user is on-site for example on a specific location, is there any problem if the content change to a new location withing the web app without changing static pages.

Hello. You really need to have separate pages if you want to rank with all of them. Basically, think of the title for example. How do you want to index a specific region if you have only one page? How should googlebot understand that you have multiple content and which content/section to show if a person does a specific query? Escaped fragments could have been used in the past but it was not a great solution and it was discontinued (https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2015/10/deprecating-our-ajax-crawling-scheme.html). As such, I would try to provide separate pages with as much qualitative content as possible and with strong internal linking.

Will adding /blog/ to my urls affect SEO rankings?
Following advice from an external SEO agency I removed /blog/ from our permalinks late last year. The logic was that it a) doesn't help SEO and b) reduces the character count for the slug. Both points make sense. However, it makes segmenting blog posts from other content in Google Analytics impossible. If I were to add /blog/ back into my URLs, and redirected the permalinks, would it harm my rankings? Thanks!

Page with "random" content
Hi, I'm creating a page of 300+ in the near future, on which the content basicly will be unique as it can be. However, upon every refresh, also coming from a search engine refferer, i want the actual content such as listing 12 business to be displayed random upon every hit. So basicly we got 300+ nearby pages with unique content, and the overview of those "listings" as i might say, are being displayed randomly. Ive build an extensive script and i disabled any caching for PHP files in specific these pages, it works. But what about google? The content of the pages will still be as it is, it is more of the listings that are shuffled randomly to give every business listing a fair shot at a click and so on. Anyone experience with this? Ive tried a few things in the past, like a "Last update PHP Month" in the title which sometimes is'nt picked up very well.

Same URL, different Drupal content types
Hi all, I am working in Drupal which isn't always SEO-friendly. I want to convert some of our articles that are currently in an old article type to our new shiny longform template without losing SEO value. The process we use right now is to: change the URL of the old article in the CMS from /article-title to /article-title-old and then make the longform template /article-title in the CMS. Then hit publish. That way we can avoid having to mess with redirects. My concerns are that this will be seen as a bait and switch by Google. They are, after all, two separate pages — node-1 and node-2 on the back end — that are being smushed into the same skin aka same URL. I don't know if updating to the new template wipes out some of the info Google may have deemed important. I guess you could argue it's a redesign by CMS but I'm still not sure. Thoughts?

How to deal with duplicated content on product pages?
Hi, I have a webshop with products with different sizes and colours. For each item I have a different URL, with almost the same content (title tag, product descriptions, etc). In order to prevent duplicated content I'am wondering what is the best way to solve this problem, keeping in mind: -Impossible to create one page/URL for each product with filters on colour and size -Impossible to rewrite the product descriptions in order to be unique I'm considering the option to canonicolize the rest of de colours/size variations, but the disadvantage is that in case the product is not in stock it disappears from the website. Better to have less pages with more related content?
I work with a law firm and we are having a hard time busting into the first page of results for any of our keywords. I am new at SEO and have been trying to analyze how are competitors have an edge over us when on paper we are better optimized than their websites. One glaring difference is they have fewer webpages, which possibly makes each of their pages more keyword rich. Would it be smarter to condense our many webpages/topics into less, more general web pages? I hope my question is even making sense, thanks for any possible help!
