What does google think about legit link exchanges where one is follow and one is no follow?

Hi Experts! Here is my Question for you.
I am doing a link exchange in a legit way to increase sales for my site and my associate's site. My associate just wants a sales increase and no link juice. He has a very low DA so I want to give him a no follow link. Is it suspicious of fishy that I give a no follow link and receive a followed link in return?
Please let me know how to proceed, I don't want to take any changes.
Can you tell me the best way to proceed with this link exchange?

I think Google will understand these legitimate scenarios but cannot be guaranteed all the times.
We have more than 30 partners. We have given all of them "nofollow" from our website and they link back to us with followed links. Our DA is high and all of them have low DA. This is been happening for years where partners get deleted and new ones will add up. We never experienced any algo or manual penalties. If both pages have relative context in terms of content, the link must be legit.

Do i have too many 'follow' backlinks and am i being penalised by Google for it?
Hi all. I read on Moz recently that if a website has too large a percentage of 'follow' backlinks, that Google penalise the website because that is unnatural. IS this correct please? I ask because i have recently found that our own website, according to Moz, has 16,500 inbound links and they are ALL 'follow' links. Will short linking to my site affect SERPs attribution of inbound link?
Some brand partners are using their short links to link back to our site (like bit.ly but they have their own). They have a high domain authority and trust so we want that link back to be read by Google. When I downloaded all inbound links from Moz, this brand's site was not listed, making me worried that the inbound link isn't being seen or considered! Haven't been able to find any info on this...

Google indexing nofollow links
Hi Guys I have yellowpages.com.au appearing in the link profiles for some of my clients, but not in others (even if clients without the link in their profile have had an actual link on yellowpages.com.au longer than some who do have it in their profile). My understanding is that Google MAY eventually index a nofollow link... My question is what would cause Google to actually index it?

Link Building - Affiliate Link Programs
I'm getting some conflicting information when researching this... I want to create the most organic link building strategy that not only gets high authority sites linking to a website, but relevant websites. I'm creating an affiliate link program where I link to partner and affiliate companies, who in turn link back to me. The question is where to put these links. I was initially thinking of putting them in the footer so they add credibility to every page, and in turn ask my affiliates to do the same thing. However; some sources say that Google no longer looks at links in the footer section. Is it true that Google doesn't count links in footer sections? And do you have any tips on creating this Affiliate Link Program?

Link Relevance vs Link Authority ?
Hi guys, I have a quick question regarding some low quality links my site is getting. From the information in Open Site Explorer, the website Im talking about has a page authority of 16 while the domain authority is 11\. These are very low quality scores in my oppinion and Im thinking of removing them with Google Disavow Tool. The thing is that, although the domain is low quality, the links have relevance as they're in the same business sector as us. More exactly, the name of the domain is taxisavona and the company I work for is also a taxi company. How many nofollow links should we build to have a natural link profile
Hi guys, As with many link builders we have been building lots of dofollow links for our site, so many that mainly our incoming links are dofollow. Some pages have 99.5% dofollow external links which I know is not very natural. In your experience in terms of percentage how much should you have in terms of nofollow external links in your link profile. I noticed SEOMoz has about 12-13% nofollow external links, shall I go with this figure? Thanks guys. David
