Keyword retrieval tool that uses Intentions. Does it exist?
-
Need to add intentions to a large volume of KWs.
Approaches found so far:
1. Manually e.g. Mechanical Turk
2. Excel/VBA automation. Requires manual work - for instance, deciding on rules.
3. NLP, Machine Leearning, Text Classification, followed by Power BI or similar for visualization. Easily a few thousand dollars to build in 4-6 weeks.
4. Some agencies offer it as part of their services.5. But is there a platform/tool that offers this?
Called only Semrush and they didn't know any platform/tool but may offer it in the future.
6. ....... What options am I missing?Thanks. Richard.

Hy Richard,
Are you looking to sell plumbing services only or to educate plumbers and also provide training or a place where they can come to learn new skills?
If you google plumber the word 'plumbing' here in the UK appears in bold. So google Rankbrain consider those two words to mean the same thing So there's no need for AI? Just a google search. The intent has been determined by Rankbrain to be equivalent. At least here in the UK anyway. Please remember to like my answers if you think they're helpful.

Hey Ed,
Thanks for your reply.
Example of 2 search queries:
"Plummer" - which has a higher probability of having a buyer intention
"Plumming" - has a lower probability of having a buyer intention#3 of my original question will solve the problem. I'm just looking for existing solutions/tools/platforms.
Thanks, Richard

So are you basically saying you want to know the learnings of Rankbrain and apply it to your keywords to create perfect 'topic groups' and write and optimise for customer intentions? There's a great WBF (you've probably seen already here:
If i'm understanding what you want - this is not going to be possible without manual testing and keeping a log (and careful eye on optimisations and positions as you go.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding but asking "I want a tool to tell me how Rankbrain works" is not only impossible per se but will be intentionally obscured by Google so black hats and spammers can't game the system.
Bad news aside, some basic testing that I've doing has brought some great results locally and nationally. I would think that any AI that a private company (that's not google) builds, is going to be very far behind what google is actually doing as their resources will always outstrip any other businesses efforts by an order of magnitude. Also it's coming up with results outside the curve or sometimes just perverse, so you're potentially modelling a system on an imperfect and incomplete system.
Google is your best research tool for Rankbrain. Rush aren't even close and I'd think they weren't building the tool because it can't be built.
I'm speaking in London at a little users forum they have there this month so will ask them in person for you.

Looking for tools to benchmark an industry
Hi everyone - I'm trying to benchmark an entire industry. Given that Google seems to adjust what ranking signals should be counted more heavily based on the industry/query - I'd like to be able to benchmark a specific industry. As a silly example - let's say I want to know what ranking signals would most effect coffee shops, real estate agents, or manufacturers. Has anyone here ever found an efficient way to analyze: 1. Who the top 10 are for 5-10 keywords, in that industry 2. What they have in common (e.g. meta info, content length, ssl certs, etc.) 3. What were the differences in the higher ranking ones (domain name registration age, content quality, etc.) It seems like there has to be a way to do this given that Moz, SEM Rush, and others release yearly reports that detail which ranking signals seem to be most important. I'd just like to be able to know what the top ranking signals are for a specific industry, based off of who is ranking really well in that industry already. Thanks!

Free proofreading tool
Does anyone use any free / open source profreading tool that not only corrects spelling, double-spacing and capital letters, but also meaning. Let's say it will tell you verb or subject is missing in the sentence. Or that a sentence doesn't make sense, such as 'Dog English he does looks well twelve'. Thanks. Katarina

Best Keyword tool with global search numbers
I am curious to hear from Moz community about the best keyword tool right now which gives most accurate numbers as Google is hiding the numbers. I have used few tools which allows us to check volume for different countries; but would like to know which tool even has the global search volume & search volume for "multiple" selected countries. Thanks

Using Google Custom Search for custom 404 pages?
I'm looking to create a better 404 page. I'm looking at integrating Google Search as a custom 404 page. I found this article: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/08/a-better-404-page/ Basically, I want to grab whatever keyword(s) are in the broken page's URL and present custom Google search result to be displayed on the 404 page. Kind of like a "were you looking for this?" type of layout. Does anyone have experience with implementing this? Someone on my organization said that Google may "penalize" such practices.
