Title too long, is it a big problem?
-
Hi is it a very big problem if my title is too long?
I have
PRODUCT NAME Company Name for Lingerie, Swimwear, Bras and Panties
In shopping cart with the PRODUCT NAME generated dynamicly, so the product name could end up 20 or so characters but usually would be less

Its worth considering the organic CTR of your result, the title tag should eye catching. It is often worth looking at the format and style of your title tag in relation to the title tags of results above and below you in serps. If they are all the same and indeed even if well optimised for SEO, it might be worth considering doing some testing ie can you change your title tag format to catch the browsers without affecting your position. If they are all 65 chars then you can win with shorter tag perhaps a tag with your freephone number etc...

My Advice is to keep titles below 68 charatcers,
IF you go over the limit it looks like you have rushed the job imo.
Also if possible try to keep the Brand terms at the end of titles
Use - MAIN KEYWORD | CAT | BRAND
Regards.

It won't hurt your rankings - just perhaps your CTR in the SERP's.

Your title is long, but not long enough to be cut off by an ellipsis (>66 characters).
A common title format that I like is: Product - Category | Company
You can always test different title formats and re-calibrate if necessary.

How long does it take for canonical tags to work
How long on average does it take for a canonical tag to work? Understand that canonicals are just a suggestion, but after adding a canonical tag and submitting the page via Google fetch, assuming Google follows the canonical, would you expect it to work after a day or two or does it take longer? We added canonicals to old PPC landing pages that are ranking organically, though our new landing pages (which we want to rank organically) are not identical and have a bit more content/features. They are similar though. Canonicals were added to the old pages (pointing to new pages) and requested indexing via search console. Old pages are still ranking and new pages not so much. FYI we are unable to 301 old PPC pages due to other non negotiable reasons unfortunately. Thanks.

Page titles in browser not matching WP page title
I have an issue with a few page titles not matching the title I have In WordPress. I have 2 pages, blog & creative gallery, that show the homepage title, which is causing duplicate title errors. This has been going on for 5 weeks, so its not an a crawl issue. Any ideas what could cause this? To clarify, I have the page title set in WP, and I checked "Disable PSP title format on this page/post:"...but this page is still showing the homepage title. Is there an additional title setting for a page in WP?

Duplicate Page Title Crawl Error Issue
In the last crawl for on of our client websites the duplicate page title and page content numbers were very high. They are reading every page twice. http://www.barefootparadisevacations.com and http://barefootparadisevacations.com are being read as two different pages with the same page title. After the last crawl I used our built in redirect tool to redirect the urls, but the most recent crawl showed the same issue. Is this issue really hurting our rankings and if so, any suggestions on a fix for the problem? Thank you!

Why a big difference between PR and mR
Hi seomozzers I have a question regarding metrics on a site I am looking at. Basically the homepage has the following: DA 33, PA41 mR 5.09, mT 5.84 PR 1 I have also checked an internal page and that has similar mozrank and moztrust and PA 37 but has PR 0. Can anyone shed any light on the possible reasons (other than a Google penalty) why there should be such a difference between PR and mR as I understood that in general the difference is more likely to be 0.5 to 1. As I do not believe that the site has had any 'help' from black hat tactics and is 9 years old I'm a little perplexed. Anyone else experience such a discrepancy? Thanks in advance. Trevor
