Can anyone please make my day with this domain
-
Hi i have been waiting for a long time to buy [removed by admin] as i have the .co.uk name and it is now up for sale for 12 dollars. but here is the problem. i am in spain at the moment and not due back for two weeks, i have joined go daddy as they say they have it up for sale at 12 dollars but after joining the site and trying to buy it i am coming across major problems as the screen is just coming blank. it is not taking me direct to the auction or buy now section of the site and i do not know what is going on. spent nearly four hours trying to sort this out.
would anyone please help me find out what is going on as i really need this domain name for my site so i can start using the .com for the site and replace it with the .co.uk

This is EXACTLY why I see your work as such an invaluable part of the SEOmoz Q&A Keri. You rock!

Diane, I have removed the domain in question from your post. You are much more likely to have someone buy that domain and then try to sell it to you for a large amount of money than you are to find a random person buy it and sell it to you at cost.
I suggest calling GoDaddy (if they are the ones offering it) and work with them on the phone, or find someone you trust to buy it for you.
-
I suggest calling them or trying network solutions.com
-
There is no way for us to troubleshoot the problem without being there or gaining a much better understanding of the issue you are facing.
Some basic suggestions:
-
check to ensure you do not have a pop-up blocker turned on
-
check to ensure you do not have an ad-blocker turned on
-
try a different browser (IE, Chrome, FF). If that does not work, try a different pc.
-
if all else fails, call someone you trust and ask them to purchase the domain.
This Q&A is likely already in search results, and not everyone is honest so you should purchase the domain asap!
PS. Edit your Q&A and remove the domain name asap. It should not have been mentioned publicly.

Domain change recommendations
We recently migrated one of our websites to a new domain. Obviously we were expecting a decrease in traffic initially, but it has actually gone down by 70% week-over-week since we made the switch. We set up a 301 redirect from the old domain to the new domain, changed all internal links to the new domain and changed all inbound links that we owned to the new domain. Our research suggested the best way to approach a domain change was by keeping it simple and not making too many changes at once. So my questions are: 1. Are these the kinds of results we should expect initially after a domain change? And if not, 2. What are the steps we should take from here? Thanks!

Can anyone speak to the pros and cons of installing mod_expire on an Apache server?
We recently had mod_deflate and mod_expire installed on our server in an attempt to improve pagespeed. They worked beautifully, at least we thought they did. Google's pagespeed insights tools evaluated our homepage at 65 before the install and 90 after...major improvement. However, we seem to be experiencing very slow load on our product pages. There is a feeling (not based on any quantifiable data) that mod_expire is actually slowing down our page load, particularly for visitors who do not have the page cached (which would probably be most visitors). Here are some pages to look at with their corresponding score from the Pagespeed Insights tool: Live Sound - 91 http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/live-sound-live-audioWireless Microphones - 90 http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/microphones Truss and Rigging - 79 http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/lighting-truss light weight product detail page 83 http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/global-truss-sq-4109-12-truss-segment heavy weight product detail page 77 http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/presonus-studiolive-16-4-2 Any thoughts from my fellow Mozzers would be greatly appreciated!

Webmaster Tools and Domain registration
Hi, I have a travel project to manage and a question to arrange the registration of this page. Should I register in Webmaster Tools all domains which lead to the webpage of this travel company like abctravel.com, a-b-c-travel.com, adventure-bahamas-crew-travel.com and adventurebahamascrewtravel.com or only the main domain abctravel.com. Thanks for your advice.

Transfer a Main Domain to a Sub-Domain
My IT department tells me they want to transfer my main site domain, which has been in existence since 1999 as an e-commerce site (maindomain.com) to a sub-domain (www2.maindomain.com) or a completely new domain (newdomain.net). This is because we are launching a new website and B2C e-commerce engine, but we still have to maintain the legacy B2B e-commerce engine which contains hard-coded URLs, and both systems can't use the same domain. I've been researching the issue across SEOmoz, but I haven't come across this exact type of scenario (mostly I've seen a sub-domain to new domain). I see major problems with their proposal, including negative SEO impact, loss of domain authority/ranking and issues with branding. Does anyone know the exact type of impact I can expect to see in this scenario and specific steps I should go about to minimize the impact? Btw, I will be using Danny Dover's guide on properly moving domains where appropriate. Thanks!

While SEOMoz currently can tell us the number of linking c-blocks, can SEOMoz tell us what the specific c-blocks are?
I know it is important to have a diverse set of c-blocks, but I don't know how it is possible to have a diverse set if I can't find out what the c-blocks are in the first place. Also, is there a standard for domain linking c-blocks? For instance, I'm not sure if a certain amount is considered "average" or "above-average."

Multiple domains on the same hosting
Hello, I have around 80 sites (different domains) which are on the same host. Everytime I look up the IP of these domains, it gives me the same IP. The sites are interlinked, all linking to the main domain. My question is: Does the off site link building have effect on the 80 sites?

Is it better for our Blog to be blog.domain.tld or domain.tld/blog ?
I'd dread the answer being the latter rather than the former as we've spent two years building it blog.domain... However I noticed SEOmoz are domian.tld/blog and it got me thinking.... Cheers. R.
