Why does the crawl report say I should have meta description and title tags in my xml files?

Just had my first crawl report today which has been very useful in finding missing and duplicated title tags and meta descriptions but it has flagged up the fact that my xml files are missing these. Surely non HTML documents shouldn't have them (or need them) so why are they showing up in the report?

TBH it's a while ago I heard it and can't remember which site it was on. I've subscribed to so many SEO forums!!
Happy to get fresh advice on the matter as I have no particular desire to have the sitemaps crawlable or visible on the site. What are your feelings about ROR, RSS and OPML sitemaps?

Could you give me a heads up on the resource that says you should link to your sitemap.xml? Interested in reading that
In my experience, search engines expect the sitemap to be at www.root.com/sitemap.xml so there would be no need to link to it from your site.

The site does link to sitemaps in XML, RSS, OPML, Text and HTML formats. This has been advised not for Google but for other search engines and bots which may be crawling the site. There are also links to RSS feeds which are showing in the report as well.
Highland - the XML files are generated by a third party so I would hope they are returning proper application type! The browser certainly renders them as XML.

There shouldn't be any title tags and description tags in XML files. So I suggest you submit it as a bug.Other thought that comes up: why does the crawler find XML files? That (probably?) means that you're linking to those files on your site? Which isn't really necessary
You only need to link to it in your robots.txt file or submit it to Google Webmaster Tools. -
Are your XML files returning a proper application type? If it's being shown as "text/html" it's possible the bot got confused.

Why do the Ranking Report emails differ from the acutal Ranking Report?
I have been noticing that the Rankings listed in the emails are far different from the ones in my report once I log in. Any idea what this is about? Often the rankings in the email are much better then in the report. And I am talking about on the same day as the email was sent out, not a week later.

Why have I stopped receiving emails about crawl reports and rankings reports?
I used to receive emails weekly telling me a new crawl had completed and the reports were ready and also another email saying the new rankings and on page reports were ready to view - I am not getting these anymore. Does this mean these are still happening but I need to find them within the package or has something changed? Thanks

I have a Rel Canonical "notice" in my Crawl Diagnostics report. I'm presuming that means that the spider has detected a rel canonical tag and it is working as opposed to warning about an issue, is this correct?
I know this seems like a really dumb question but the site I'm working on is a BigCommerce one and I've been concerned about canonicalisation issues prior to receiving this report (I'm a SEOmoz pro newbie also!) and I just want to be clear I am reading this notice correctly. I presume this means that the site crawl has detected the rel canonical tag on these pages and it is working correctly. Is this correct?? Any input is much appreciated. Thanks

Crawl reports urls with duplicate content but its not the case

Some hours ago I received my crawl report. I noticed several records with urls with duplicate content so I went to open those urls one by one.
Not one of those urls were really with duplicate content but I have a concern because website is about product showcase and many articles are just images with href behind them. Many of those articles are using the same images so maybe thats why the seomoz crawler duplicate content flag is raised. I wonder if Google has problem with that too. Seo moz crawl is not updating
When I check our seo campaign I can see that the report was not updated. It still show that the next crawl is Nov 1 but it is already Nov 3.

Trifecta Report (domain)
Recently i have found that the data in the trifecta report is becoming less complete. For the last few sites i found that the report returned about half of the metrics it was looking for. For instance, it mentioned that one of the domains did not have a dmoz or wikipedia link/page even though they had both? Also, it rarely returns the Yahoo Site Explorer metrics even though when clicking to see the source the data is there? Are you guys planning on phasing out this tool, if not it seems like some work needs to be done on cleaning it up. Thanks!
